Tears In Heaven Episode 11 Recap
> Tears In Heaven Recap
Du Xiaosu, feeling Shao Zhenrong's presence, entered the apartment Lei Yuzheng had returned to her. She imagined Shao Zhenrong's words about their dream home: an apartment for just the two of them, with her in charge of the design, a photo wall for their trips and future babies, a garden with flowers, and a swing built just for her. He had envisioned them raising a dog and growing old together in a warm, comfy home. "
Zhenrong, I'm home," she whispered. Soon after, Du Xiaosu received a parcel for Shao Zhenrong from his hospital. It contained drawings and a birthday card from the children on Star Island, along with a voice message from Teacher Sun wishing Shao Zhenrong a happy birthday and expressing the children's desire to meet their "Uncle Zhenrong" and Miss Du.
This reminded Du Xiaosu of Shao Zhenrong's wish to take her to that beautiful island to visit Teacher Sun and the lovely children at the primary school. She felt a pang of regret that she never got to go with him. Du Xiaosu later arranged to meet Lei Yuzheng, surprising him once again. She invited him to a small, unique noodle restaurant, which was also the place where she and Shao Zhenrong first met, promising him an unforgettable meal.
She then presented him with a deposit book containing all her savings, enough for the first installment on the apartment, along with a signed IOU for the remaining balance, promising to pay him back monthly with bank interest. Lei Yuzheng jokingly called it a "selling herself" contract, to which Du Xiaosu readily agreed, stating she did so of her own free will.
The restaurant owner, recognizing Du Xiaosu, inquired about Dr. Shao, prompting Du Xiaosu to lie, saying he was busy with work at the hospital. Du Xiaosu ordered her favorite shredded eel noodles. For Lei Yuzheng, she suggested chicken and coriander noodles, which he agreed to order. As they ate, Du Xiaosu was overcome with emotion and began to cry silently, recalling memories of Shao Zhenrong in that very place.
Later, she thanked Lei Yuzheng for returning the apartment, though he downplayed it, saying he merely lost a bet and was being "kind for once," reminding her that she still had to pay him back. Du Xiaosu then requested another favor, presenting him with a ship ticket. She explained that Shao Zhenrong had supported impoverished children on a remote island and promised to visit them before the new year.
She pleaded with Lei Yuzheng to accompany her, stressing the importance of his presence for the children. He initially refused, citing company work and offering to donate money or even build a school instead, questioning if his personal visit truly mattered. However, Du Xiaosu insisted that "there are things money can't buy" and that "having company is more important than money" for the children. Du Xiaosu prepared books and daily necessities for the children.
Meanwhile, Lei Yuzheng was visibly distracted during a company meeting, eventually dismissing it abruptly. Despite an urgent inquiry from Lin Xiangyuan regarding the Entertainment Center negotiations, Lei Yuzheng brushed it off and instructed his assistant, He Qunfei, to prepare a car. Du Xiaosu, already at the pier, repeatedly looked back, hoping Lei Yuzheng would change his mind and join her. Just as she was about to give up hope, Lei Yuzheng arrived.
Surprised, she asked why he was there, and he teasingly responded that he had to come because she treated him to a meal. They then boarded the boat hand-in-hand. Back in the city, Lin Xiangyuan went to Lei Yuzheng's office looking for him regarding an urgent document, but He Qunfei claimed not to know his whereabouts. Meanwhile, Du Xiaosu and Lei Yuzheng arrived on the small island, where Teacher Sun and the children eagerly greeted them.
Teacher Sun, mistakenly assuming Lei Yuzheng was Shao Zhenrong, addressed him as "Dr. Shao," a misconception Lei Yuzheng did not correct. The children, overjoyed, also called them "Sister Du and Uncle Shao." Du Xiaosu recognized several children from photos, including Mei and the "naughty boy" Doudou. Teacher Sun led Du Xiaosu and Lei Yuzheng on a tour of the village and school.
He explained that many parents had moved to cities for work, leaving their children behind, and sadly, some children like Mei and Doudou had parents who went fishing and never returned. The school, in an effort to protect the children, tells them their parents are working in the city.
At the "Angu Township Pass the Dream Elementary School," Teacher Sun formally introduced Du Xiaosu as "Teacher Xiaosu" and Lei Yuzheng as "Dr. Shao or Uncle Shao" to the children, who then happily showed them around. Back in the city, Jiang Fanlv complained to her father, Jiang Jin, that Lei Yuzheng was ignoring her calls and seemed to be avoiding her.
Jiang Jin, however, advised his daughter to be more understanding of Lei Yuzheng's demanding career, suggesting that a more thoughtful and considerate approach would make him cherish her more. That evening, Teacher Sun arranged for Du Xiaosu and Lei Yuzheng to stay in his dorm room, apologizing for the small space. Du Xiaosu, hesitant to share a room with Lei Yuzheng, suggested they sleep with the children.
However, Lei Yuzheng cheerfully declared the room "nice" and "like a sea-view hotel room." After Teacher Sun left, Du Xiaosu closed the door. Lei Yuzheng, sensing her discomfort, jokingly asked if she intended for him to sleep outside. To ease her mind, he quickly offered to sleep on the floor while she took the bed, dismissing her concern about the cold by mentioning his experience sleeping on the ground during hiking trips.
Du Xiaosu thanked him for coming, and he clarified that he was there for Shao Zhenrong. In the middle of the night, Lei Yuzheng was startled awake by a nightmare of his mother abandoning him during a severe thunderstorm, which mirrored the actual storm raging outside. As he got up to close the window, he discovered Du Xiaosu curled on the floor, trembling from fear of the thunder.
He teased her for her fright, but she admitted her lifelong fear of thunderstorms. He helped her up and wrapped a blanket around her, noting the cold and humidity on the floor. Sensing his sadness, Du Xiaosu gently asked about his nightmare. He revealed he had dreamed of a woman whose face he couldn't clearly see, surrounded by thunder and lightning.
He confirmed she was family who "left him long ago" and "passed away," but then abruptly ended the conversation, stating it was a painful memory from the distant past. The next morning, Teacher Sun and a child named Shanwa rushed to Lei Yuzheng, explaining that Shanwa's father was suffering a severe rheumatic heart attack and struggling to breathe. Lei Yuzheng immediately responded, carrying Shanwa's father to the island's small clinic.
The doctor there confirmed it was a typical rheumatic heart disease and, due to limited medical facilities, advised transferring the patient to a larger hospital in the city. Teacher Sun revealed that Shanwa's mother had left two years prior and never returned. Overriding Teacher Sun's reluctance, Lei Yuzheng insisted on helping and handed him a bank card to cover the expenses for Shanwa's father's transfer and hospitalization. Du Xiaosu, also worried about Shanwa, arrived at the clinic.
Lei Yuzheng and Du Xiaosu accompanied Shanwa to the city. Lei Yuzheng expressed profound empathy for Shanwa, noting that the boy, abandoned by his mother and left to face sadness alone, had matured quickly and kept his feelings to himself. He spoke about the struggles of life, likening it to "sailing in the dark," where one must "bear all difficulties by yourself." Du Xiaosu noticed his words seemed to come from personal experience, though he simply attributed it to "imagination." He understood Shanwa's deep-seated pain, reflecting on how the boy, having been rejected by his own mother, might struggle to trust anyone else.
