Song of the Moon Episode 10 Recap
> Song of the Moon Recap
The trial began with Liu Shao encountering a black-clad immortal who shockingly resembled Lu Li. This figure told her that he had changed her fate after she turned eighteen, leading her to meet a great demon and hide in Marquis Wuyang's Mansion, and asserted that he was indeed Lu Li. He dared her to see for herself, claiming the illusion would reveal that "she's destined to kill you."
Meanwhile, Lu Li found himself in a desolate desert, witnessing a black-clad immortal face off against a figure who looked like Liu Shao, identified as Sun Supreme God by the illusion. When Sun Supreme God seemingly stabbed the black-clad immortal, Lu Li himself felt a sword wound. Both Lu Li and Liu Shao realized these were deceptive illusions.
Lu Li, recognizing the deceit, desperately tried to break free, even trying to choke the illusory Sun Supreme God, which, within the illusion, appeared as the black-clad immortal controlling Liu Shao. At this critical moment, their wills united, and they managed to break through the illusion. Upon emerging from the illusion, Marquis Wuyang asked who had completed the trial. Both Lu Li and Liu Shao initially tried to credit the other.
Marquis Wuyang, impressed by Lu Li's character and his overcoming of the trial, declared Lu Li's succession to the title of Marquis Wuyang, affirming that Lu Li was proven to be the right one to draw the Moon Sword, a journey spanning from the Spirit Fire to the King Herb, and then to the Moon Sword itself.
Nevertheless, he presented Liu Shao with half of the King Herb, explaining that while it could prolong his own life, the future of the mortal world was more important. He hoped the King Herb would enhance Liu Shao's spiritual power, enabling her to draw the Moon Sword and protect humanity, ensuring they would no longer be held captive by other races.
Meanwhile, the Demon King in White received news that a female disciple, Liu Shao, had passed the Moon Sword trial at Marquis Wuyang's Moon Platform, implying she might indeed pull out the Moon Sword. He remarked that the Three Realms would never be peaceful again. Fu, however, calmly asserted that the Three Realms had always been tumultuous and that a little chaos was not bad for them, even as the cup in his hand shattered into pieces.
Lu Li remained deeply unsettled after the illusion, feeling that not everything he saw was false. He recalled how the illusory immortal had resembled him. He explained to Liu Shao that he had intentionally used their mutually exclusive powers to force out her potential and break the illusion, acknowledging his fear that they might die if they couldn't escape.
Liu Shao, still unaware of his inner turmoil, excitedly recounted her experience, playfully threatening to stab him with the Moon Sword if he ever betrayed her, claiming she didn't want to "stain her hands" by pinching him. This remark, however, sent a chill down Lu Li's spine, as it echoed the illusion's ominous prophecy that she was destined to kill him.
He privately pondered if Liu Shao drawing the sword would truly be safe, remembering the illusion where the Moon Sword seemed to be devouring Sun Supreme God. Liu Shao then cheerfully informed him that she would refine the King Herb that night and draw the Moon Sword at noon the next day, for both their sakes. Driven by his lingering doubts, Lu Li decided to seek answers from his master, Lu Sheng.
Before leaving, he urgently instructed Liu Shao to wait for his return before attempting to draw the Moon Sword, to which she readily agreed. Upon meeting Lu Sheng, Lu Li directly asked if drawing the Moon Sword would endanger Liu Shao. Lu Sheng initially dismissed the idea, stating that a divine sword should not be dangerous.
However, Lu Li pressed further, explaining his vision within the illusion where Liu Shao killed him with the Moon Sword but then suffered a backlash, and questioned if the illusion, even if not entirely real, hinted at a danger if the Sun Supreme God was affected. Lu Sheng confirmed that using true vitality while drawing the sword could lead to a backlash. Realizing Liu Shao would indeed be in danger, Lu Li tried to rush back to stop her.
But Lu Sheng, prioritizing his own disciple, entrapped Lu Li in a magical barrier, stating that if only one of them could live, he would choose his disciple. As Lu Li remained trapped and did not return, Liu Shao grew anxious. Her thoughts turned to Lu Li's relationship with Bai Feng, and she began to suspect he was hiding something.
Bai Feng, taking advantage of Lu Li's absence, used a puppet provided by her master, Lu Sheng, to create a deceptive scene. She lured Liu Shao into a forest where Liu Shao witnessed "Lu Li" express deep affection for Bai Feng. This "Lu Li" then outlined a plan to snatch the Moon Sword from Liu Shao once she drew it and subsequently frame her for collusion with the demonic realm and treason.
Liu Shao was completely unaware that this "Lu Li" was merely a puppet and that the entire scene was an elaborate illusion. To further solidify the misunderstanding, Bai Feng also stole Lu Li's money bag, leaving it for Liu Shao to find, causing her to feel utterly betrayed and demand an explanation from the real Lu Li. Overwhelmed by the conflicting truths and betrayal, Liu Shao decided to calm herself and prioritize drawing the Moon Sword.
Meanwhile, the real Lu Li, having finally broken free from Lu Sheng's confinement, rushed back, frantically calling out for Liu Shao to stop. He arrived too late as Liu Shao had already breached the protective seal and grasped the Moon Sword. Recognizing the seal left by the Sun Supreme God, and realizing that her own vital energy was the key to unlocking it, she prepared to fully activate the sword.
Lu Li could only intervene by using his own spiritual power to assist her in fully drawing the weapon, inadvertently causing the Sun Spirit to reappear in the mortal world. With the Moon Sword fully drawn, the Three Realms underwent dramatic changes. Sunlight pierced directly into the deepest parts of the sea, an unprecedented phenomenon.
Even the Brahma tree in the demonic realm miraculously bore Glazed Fruit, infused with the spiritual energy of heaven and earth, breaking through its previous limitations. Liu Shao, however, was visibly exhausted, experiencing symptoms of backlash as her own spiritual power proved incompatible with the Moon Sword. Concerned for her safety, Lu Li swiftly took the sword from her.
This protective action, however, was misinterpreted by Liu Shao, who recalled the puppet's earlier declaration of taking the sword for Bai Feng. She instantly believed Lu Li had only approached her to obtain the Moon Sword, feeling that he was feigning concern. Before Lu Li could explain, Bai Feng suddenly appeared, congratulating Lu Li on obtaining the Moon Sword and pressing him to return to their master, reinforcing Liu Shao's growing disappointment.
Bai Feng then explicitly stated that Lu Li had been using Liu Shao solely to retrieve the Moon Sword, confirming Liu Shao's worst fears and recalling Lu Li's earlier "vow" under the Brahma tree. Despite Lu Li's desperate attempts to deny it and insist he never wanted to hurt her, Bai Feng intensified the emotional manipulation, revealing that Liu Shao's spiritual powers were incompatible with the Moon Sword, and that drawing it would ultimately cost her life.
In her despair and renewed anger, Liu Shao, while Lu Li was distracted, snatched back the Moon Sword. Bai Feng seized the opportunity to strike Liu Shao with her whip, but Lu Li immediately rushed forward, shielding Liu Shao and taking a severe wound from a second whip strike. Devastated and feeling utterly betrayed, Liu Shao used the Moon Sword to shatter the surrounding illusion.
Clutching her Water hyacinth pendant, she called out to the Demon King in White, He Na. Ignoring Lu Li's desperate pleas for her to stay, Liu Shao begged He Na to take her away, and he agreed. Following the chaotic confrontation, Bai Feng transported the gravely injured and unconscious Lu Li back to Lu Sheng's estate. After a period of recovery, Lu Li regained consciousness and immediately resolved to find Liu Shao.
Bai Feng tried to dissuade him, reminding him of his weakened state and Master Lu Sheng's earlier words about saving his own disciple. Bai Feng, still trying to manipulate Lu Li, argued that Liu Shao would never forgive him, implying her own role in making Liu Shao believe Lu Li was conspiring against her.
She also pointed out that she knew the Moon Sword's spiritual power was incompatible with Liu Shao's, and that drawing it would ultimately cost Liu Shao her life. Lu Li, horrified that Bai Feng knew Liu Shao would die, realized his master also knew this. Despite Bai Feng's continued attempts to turn him against Liu Shao, Lu Li declared his unwavering feelings for Liu Shao and stated that any harm to her would be his concern.
Meanwhile, Marquis Wuyang reported to Immortal Master that the Moon Sword had been drawn by Liu Shao, who then vanished with Lu Li, and that their disappearance seemed linked to the demonic realm. The Immortal Master, unfazed, explained that the unsealed Moon Sword was tied to a ten-thousand-year-old feud beyond their current control.
He instructed Marquis Wuyang to wait for the emergence of a new Immortal, hinting at Luo Ge, the gifted disciple of Immortal Master Wanwu, who was currently in seclusion striving to achieve the status of Immortal, with the potential to become a God and lead the Immortal Palace. He Na brought Liu Shao to the demon palace.
He discovered that while Liu Shao, a mere mortal, was being devoured by the Moon Sword's backlash, she remained unaffected by the Melody Flute, hinting at unknown secrets within her. He admitted that he couldn't fully resolve the backlash from a divine weapon, but he used his water energy to heal her and crafted a scabbard for the Moon Sword from a portion of his own essence, stating it was all he could do for her.
General Fu, observing his brother He Na's actions, showed little concern for Liu Shao's well-being, remarking that she was beyond saving by demonic power, which relieved him. However, Fu expressed keen interest in the Moon Sword itself, acknowledging its usefulness and indicating that its presence in their demon palace would greatly aid his own future plans.
