Xiao Heyun decided to organize their experiences before the police approached. So far, they had experienced ten loops. The tenth time, they woke at 1:36, and the explosion happened at 1:42 at the intersection due to a crash with a fuel truck. In the ninth loop, they woke at 1:37, and the explosion location was on the bridge, triggered manually. Analyzing all the details, they realized the time they woke up moved earlier by one minute each loop.

But what did that earlier time mean? They reviewed the times they boarded the bus and Li Shiqing’s experiences from previous loops. Xiao Heyun noticed she seemed to be hiding something, while the only thing she could remember clearly was the old cellphone ringtone. She also recalled being questioned by Zhang Cheng in the sixth loop and believed the police would never believe them.

But Xiao Heyun thought that as long as the police found the bomb, they’d be cleared of suspicion. Zhang Cheng, together with Jiang Feng, found the two and brought them back to the police station. On the way, Zhang Cheng had them ride in separate cars and questioned Xiao Heyun about his travel plans that day. A friend called, blaming him for being late and causing investors to leave, embarrassing him. Xiao Heyun awkwardly ended the call.

When Zhang Cheng asked about Li Shiqing, he truthfully said they had just met on the bus. It was difficult to retrieve the surveillance footage from the crashed vehicle, and Xiao Heyun and Li Shiqing were the only leads. Faced with Zhang Cheng’s questions, Li Shiqing was speechless. So he placed the analysis paper Xiao Heyun had thrown in the trash in front of her. Jiang Feng, impatient and hot-tempered, didn’t believe Xiao Heyun’s explanations either.

Watching the wall clock, Xiao Heyun grew increasingly anxious. Jiang Feng sought approval from Director Du, who was dissatisfied with his attitude and ordered a drug test. Facing Zhang Cheng’s persistent questioning, Li Shiqing addressed him as “Officer Zhang” and asked whether any police responded after her report. Zhang Cheng keenly noticed she knew his surname—and even about the injury to his right hand.

Left with no choice, she told him they had met during the loop in the hospital and explained the time loop again. Xiao Heyun’s story also failed to gain police trust. The only thing Li Shiqing was certain about was hearing the old cellphone ringtone. But she still wasn’t sure whether it was related to the explosion. The police were near breaking point.

Jiang Feng didn’t believe in the loop, but Zhang Cheng noted the two had no reason to lie and no relationship between them. The police believed the analysis diagram Xiao Heyun had drawn was their crime plan. Director Du suggested switching the interrogators. The police tried different interrogation techniques but made no progress. The drug tests came back clean.

During the questioning, Jiang Feng said Xiao Heyun claimed it was just a simple accident, and Li Shiqing immediately caught the flaw in that logic. Just then, Director Du called Zhang Cheng and Jiang Feng out—because explosive residue had indeed been found on the bus at the scene. Faced with the arrival of their superiors, Director Du decided to detain the two and focus on interrogating Xiao Heyun, whose psychological defense was weaker.

Meanwhile, Li Shiqing, still unconscious, woke up once more on the bus. A man passed by her, and the broadcast announced the next stop—Yanjiang West Road.
