Eternal magazine's editorial department faces imminent closure in three months unless sales dramatically improve. Bai Haoyu arrives as the new editor-in-chief, determined to save the magazine, and demands full authority from Editor Vivian, who trusts his capabilities. Li Huizhen, initially working in the logistics department, is transferred to the editorial department. Uncomfortable and doubting her abilities, she attempts to return to logistics, but the Director is unable to go against Vivian's decision. Reluctantly, Li Huizhen stays.
Lin Yimu claims responsibility for her transfer, asking her to treat him to a meal, and finds her timid demeanor amusing. He also recognizes her from a previous encounter where she was on his motorcycle eating ice cream. Zhu Ying, seeing potential in Li Huizhen, encourages her to stay and learn more about the magazine. Li Huizhen, however, constantly tries to avoid Bai Haoyu, fearing he will recognize her.
She feels like a failure, a stark contrast to the Li Huizhen Bai Haoyu remembers from their past. Bai Haoyu, a strict and demanding leader, makes a strong impression on everyone. During a meeting where Li Huizhen is tasked with taking notes, Bai Haoyu dismisses everyone's work plans and scolds Li Huizhen for being distracted, ultimately expelling her from the room. His stern approach causes concern among the staff, with Zhu Ying even complaining to Vivian.
Li Huizhen also faces Bai Haoyu's displeasure during a photoshoot when she accidentally walks on the photography backdrop while wearing her shoes. Editor Vivian further criticizes Li Huizhen's unstylish appearance and messy, naturally curly hair, demanding she change to align with Eternal's fashion image, which deeply disheartens Li Huizhen. Meanwhile, Xia Qiao's stepmother, Luo Minli, seeks to reconcile with her, inviting her to her father's birthday party.
Xia Qiao, harboring deep resentment over her stepmother's role in her parents' divorce, refuses to accept her. Despite her sadness, Xia Qiao finds a degree of warmth in Bai Haoyu's messages, even though he is mistakenly communicating with her believing she is Li Huizhen. During an incident at the warehouse, Li Huizhen and Bai Haoyu become trapped when the shutter door unexpectedly closes. Li Huizhen, who suffers from claustrophobia, panics.
Bai Haoyu, noticing her distress, plays a childhood song for her to help her calm down. This act evokes memories for Li Huizhen of their shared past, including a time she protected him from the rain. Zhu Ying and other colleagues soon arrive to rescue them. It is then that Bai Haoyu hears Zhu Ying call her "Li Huizhen," learning her name. Li Huizhen later confides in Xia Qiao about her struggles and self-doubt, finding solace only in the fact that Bai Haoyu still remembers their shared past.
