Lin Yimu returned a puzzle to Li Huizhen, knowing she cherished it and that Bai Haoyu finding it would expose her. He had known about Li Huizhen and Bai Haoyu's childhood connection since Li Huizhen, while drunk, mentioned Bai Haoyu. Bai Haoyu, reflecting on his recent interactions with Li Huizhen at the office, grew increasingly suspicious. He found her incredibly familiar and knew she was aware of many details about him, unlike Xia Qiao.
Li Huizhen confessed everything to Lin Yimu, admitting she hid her true identity from Bai Haoyu because she felt she was no longer the "perfect" person he remembered after her family's bankruptcy. Lin Yimu, however, found Li Huizhen sincere, kind, and loving, reminding him of his own sister; he didn't see her as inferior and felt pity for her.
He believed Bai Haoyu would eventually recognize her, but Li Huizhen denied it, recalling how Bai Haoyu failed to recognize her initially and mistook someone else for her. She was content as long as the company needed her and her name was on the label. Later, Li Huizhen went to Xia Qiao's hotel to pick her up, but Xia Qiao was surprised, as she had just arranged to meet Bai Haoyu at the gym.
To prevent Li Huizhen from discovering her secret, Xia Qiao quickly sent her away. Bai Haoyu arrived at the gym but couldn't find "Li Huizhen," so Xia Qiao, after hiding, called him, claiming she had an emergency and left. Xia Qiao then rushed home with Li Huizhen. Li Huizhen informed Xia Qiao that 'Immortal' magazine was facing closure if its sales didn't improve within three months, which might lead to Bai Haoyu returning to the U. S.
Troubled by this news, Xia Qiao encountered Lin Yimu at the supermarket while buying snacks. Feeling down, she invited him to eat and drink. Lin Yimu, sensing her mood, advised her to live in the present and not worry too much. When Li Huizhen called Xia Qiao, Lin Yimu, overhearing the conversation, mistakenly thought Xia Qiao was upset about her "girlfriend," leading him to suspect their relationship was improper. Xia Qiao quickly clarified they were just good friends.
Li Huizhen waited up for Xia Qiao, assuming her friend's unusual behavior was due to concern for Li Huizhen and 'Immortal' magazine. Xia Qiao, however, was primarily worried about Bai Haoyu and Li Huizhen's future if 'Immortal' shut down. Li Huizhen reassured her, promising to work hard. The next day, as Li Huizhen and her colleagues worked diligently, Zhu Ying asked Li Huizhen to pick up takeout lunches.
On her way back, Li Huizhen kindly helped a lost elderly woman cross the street and even called a taxi for her. However, she accidentally left the colleagues' bentos on the taxi's roof, and they fell to the ground when the taxi drove off. Li Huizhen rushed back to buy replacements, but the restaurant was too busy, so she went to a bakery to buy pastries for her colleagues instead.
