Our Glamorous Time Episode 6 Recap
> Our Glamorous Time Recap
Lin Qian worked late into the night, determined to find a way to lower costs while improving the performance of the special anti-chemical and fire-fighting uniforms. Her assistant, Chen Yayi, eventually left, but Lin Qian continued to brainstorm, drawing inspiration from various ideas. Li Zhicheng, discovering her still at the office, arrived and gently chided her for staying up late, calling it a bad habit.
He then presented her with takeout he had ordered and sternly instructed her to eat it all. The next morning, Lin Qian excitedly shared her new idea with Li Zhicheng. She proposed using different priced fabrics for different parts of the uniform, based on the required performance, to significantly reduce costs. Li Zhicheng listened, then immediately anticipated a potential issue with the stitching method, predicting it could compromise the waterproof performance due to seams.
Lin Qian, surprised by his insight, realized he was more knowledgeable about the fashion industry than she had thought. She then mentioned a small factory in Belgium known for its excellent waterproof fabric, and Li Zhicheng promptly named "Tex," astounding her even further. With a plan to tackle the rubber-pressing technology for the seams, he instructed her to find Mr. Warner from Tex, who would be at a party that evening.
He then ordered Lin Qian to go home, rest, and prepare to accompany him to a cocktail party that night, sending her off with Chen Yayi, who had just arrived with breakfast. Separately, Ning Weikai and Chen Zheng discussed Li Zhicheng's efforts to secure the Mingsheng project. Ning Weikai initially underestimated Aida, but Chen Zheng cautioned him, reminding him of their past struggles against Wenda and the need to prevent Aida's resurgence.
Meanwhile, Grace revealed to Li Zhicheng critical information about his brother, Li Zhiqian. She explained that before Li Zhiqian's death, Wenda was on the verge of signing a lucrative contract with the You'a Group, a massive order that only Wenda could fulfill at the time. However, following Li Zhiqian’s accident, Xinbaorui and Simeiqi stepped in to take the order, with Xinbaorui ultimately becoming You'a’s exclusive supplier, a deal that propelled them to become a leading enterprise in Linhai City.
Li Zhicheng vowed to exact revenge. Reflecting on Grace's revelations, Li Zhicheng’s intuition about Ning Weikai and Chen Zheng’s involvement in his brother’s death grew stronger, though he still lacked direct evidence of their exact roles. Grace assured him she would continue to discreetly investigate. Later that evening, at the cocktail party, Grace was conversing with Mr. Fujino from Songjian Manufacture, a prominent Japanese fabric supplier.
Ning Weikai and Chen Zheng approached, and Chen Zheng immediately sought an introduction to Fujino to discuss collaboration for Simeiqi. Grace, however, politely declined, stating that she had already arranged a meeting for a friend who was in talks with Fujino, implying they would need to wait their turn. Soon after, Li Zhicheng and Lin Qian arrived.
Grace, following Li Zhicheng’s pre-arranged strategy to create a diversion, made a high-profile introduction of Li Zhicheng to Mr. Fujino, praising Li Zhicheng's growing influence in Linhai. Li Zhicheng expressed keen interest in Songjian's top-ranked waterproof fabric, and they scheduled a detailed meeting for the next day. Watching from a distance, Ning Weikai and Chen Zheng were visibly frustrated.
Chen Zheng declared his intention to make Li Zhicheng lose this opportunity, while Ning Weikai, also interested in the project, asserted that he would not yield to Chen Zheng, prompting Chen Zheng to urge him to focus on thwarting Li Zhicheng first. While Li Zhicheng kept the attention of Ning Weikai and Chen Zheng, Lin Qian quietly sought out Hugh Warner, the representative for Tex from Belgium, as per Li Zhicheng’s secret instructions.
She introduced herself as a designer from Aida and expressed their company’s desire to collaborate. Warner, however, was hesitant. He explained that while he appreciated her enthusiasm, Aida, as a subsidiary of the struggling Wenda, might not be the ideal partner for Tex’s X100 series entry into the Chinese market, as he preferred a reputable and capable company.
Lin Qian countered by highlighting the rapid changes in the Chinese market and Wenda's historical significance as the first company in Linhai to partner with international brands, urging him to reconsider Aida's potential. Warner, acknowledging their pleasant conversation, agreed to a more detailed meeting the following day. Just as Lin Qian finished speaking with Warner, Ning Weikai approached her, playfully asking why she was alone.
Lin Qian felt awkward, but Li Zhicheng quickly stepped in, requesting a private conversation with Ning Weikai. Li Zhicheng’s gaze was sharp, and Ning Weikai, sensing the tension, asked if he harbored animosity. Li Zhicheng responded that his feelings for Ning Weikai went beyond animosity; he felt hatred.
Ning Weikai attempted to diffuse the situation by admiring Li Zhicheng’s recent actions in Linhai, particularly his strategy of using Aida as a cover to rebuild after abandoning Wenda, likening it to a "cicada losing its shell." He warned of the inherent dangers in such a risky path. Li Zhicheng retorted that Ning Weikai was overly dramatic.
When Ning Weikai pressed again about their perceived lack of hostility, Li Zhicheng clarified that his hatred for Ning Weikai had stemmed from the day he betrayed his brother, Li Zhiqian. Later, Li Zhicheng saw his sister, Li Jinyuan, talking with Chen Zheng in a corner of the ballroom. He approached them, pointedly ignoring Chen Zheng’s outstretched hand for a handshake. Li Zhicheng pulled Li Jinyuan aside, sternly warning her to stay away from "guys like that."
Li Jinyuan, tired of his controlling nature, defiantly told him she hated his overbearing attitude and refused his interference in her personal life. She then walked out of the banquet hall. Chen Zheng, who had followed her, invited her to join him in his car, and she accepted without hesitation, driving away with him. After the party concluded, Lin Qian, noticing Li Zhicheng's solemn mood, decided to follow him as he left, despite his insistence that she go home.
Her high heels quickly caused blisters on her feet, and Li Zhicheng, seeing her discomfort, sat with her on a roadside bench. Lin Qian confided in him about her own strict older brother who lives abroad, expressing her desire to pursue her dreams independently, free from his constant protective interference, even though she knew he cared. Li Zhicheng, understanding the perspective of an older brother, acknowledged that sometimes older siblings struggle to express their love. Soon after, Li Zhicheng’s driver arrived, and he gently scooped Lin Qian into his arms and carried her into the car.
