Li Zhicheng politely dismissed the offer, then subtly remarked that he remembered Vice Chairman Xue once telling his father that greed reveals weakness. Vice Chairman Xue feigned forgetfulness, attributing his supposed lapse to the increased responsibilities that come with age. Later, Ning Weikai called Lin Qian to invite her for dinner. She informed him that she was currently in Mudu town, studying Snowy Smoke silk with Teacher Geng.
Ning Weikai expressed surprise and revealed that he had just acquired the intellectual property rights for Snowy Smoke silk for Xinbaorui a few days prior. Lin Qian was taken aback and immediately questioned Teacher Geng. Teacher Geng confirmed the deal, explaining that she was impressed by Ning Weikai's sincerity and Xinbaorui's experience and capability, admitting her concern that she might not live long enough to see the craft developed on her own.

Meanwhile, Chen Yayi was with Chen Zheng, who went to buy milk tea. Gu Yanzhi immediately questioned whether this decision had Li Zhicheng's approval.
