As the competition continued, Lin Qian, slightly out of breath, arrived just in time to present her first-round design. She explained that for this garment, themed "i," she integrated many Chinese elements, inspired by the beauty of Qipao dresses she wore while studying in England. She aimed to combine the elegance of Qipao with the comfort of a jumpsuit, drawing inspiration from Irene Galitzine's approach to haute couture.

Meanwhile, in the hotel's underground parking lot, Li Zhicheng had just stepped out of his car when an unfamiliar man called his name. The man held up a phone displaying a video of Wasp and Monkey tied up. Li Zhicheng's face darkened, and he deliberately made a call to Chen Yayi before leaving his phone in the car. He then walked towards the man's car, where someone immediately placed a black bag over his head and forced him inside.

Back at the competition, the results for the first round were announced. Ning Weikai and Gao Lang’s team secured first place, while Lin Qian and Jin Yuan's team ranked last, though they still advanced to the next round. During the break, Lin Qian and Chen Yayi went to the parking lot to meet Li Zhicheng, but they found his car door open, with his phone and keys still inside, but no sign of him.

Lin Qian's heart filled with an ominous feeling. Worried, Yayi called Gu Yanzhi and then rushed to check the surveillance footage. The cameras showed Li Zhicheng purposefully leaving his phone in the car, but the area where he disappeared was a blind spot. Gu Yanzhi, on a call to his company, discovered that Wasp and Grizzly, along with a few other men, had also been missing for two days. He immediately suspected the drug cartel was involved.

When Yayi relayed what she found in the surveillance, Gu Yanzhi, seeing Jin Yuan approach, desperately urged Yayi to keep the news from Lin Qian and Jin Yuan to avoid affecting their performance in the competition. However, Yayi couldn't hold back her tears and immediately informed Jin Yuan about Li Zhicheng's disappearance. Lin Qian, distressed, wanted to go look for Li Zhicheng, but Gu Yanzhi persuaded her to stay and focus on the competition, promising to handle the search himself.

The second round of the competition began, with Chen Zheng announcing "Mask" as the theme. Despite the challenge, Lin Qian found herself too distracted and restless to concentrate on her design. Elsewhere, Jin Yuan accidentally walked into Zhan Haoran’s design room and was shocked to find it full of people busily working on clothing, essentially ghost designers. When she confronted Zhan Haoran, he aggressively pushed her out, accusing her of attempting to copy his work.

Producer Wang, hastily called to the scene, defended Zhan Haoran, claiming the people were just staff for a special interview. He then lectured Jin Yuan about the impropriety of a model entering a designer’s room. Jin Yuan furiously left, sensing a clear cover-up. Zhan Haoran, still wary, discussed with Producer Wang that Jin Yuan might spread what she saw. Producer Wang, unperturbed, assured him he would handle it. Meanwhile, Ning Weikai encountered Grace at the hotel gym.

Grace, experiencing low blood sugar due to overexertion, nearly fainted, but Ning Weikai quickly caught her. He then brought her to a restaurant. Grace initially insisted they sit separately to avoid misunderstandings, as many show staff were present. However, Ning Weikai thoughtfully ordered a simple breakfast for her, a gesture she couldn't refuse. Jin Yuan was growing increasingly anxious, as her brother Li Zhicheng had been missing for over a day.

Gu Yanzhi brought her some of her favorite snacks, encouraging her and Lin Qian to remain strong and not give up. Jin Yuan expressed her frustration over the competition's unfairness, pointing out Zhan Haoran's cheating and Producer Wang's collusion. Gu Yanzhi acknowledged that such issues were common in competitions but stressed the importance of focusing on their own performance. Jin Yuan, remembering Lin Qian's efforts in designing her clothes and her brother's absence, resolved to fight hard in the competition.

Jin Yuan then confidently took the stage, modeling Lin Qian's unique equestrian design, which earned applause. Lin Qian began to explain her design concept, expressing her hope to convey strength through the work. She spoke of equestrianism as a gentleman's sport, symbolizing the wild strength and gentle wisdom of "someone who is very important to me," urging him to "believe in your wild strength, and believe your gentle wisdom," no matter where he was.

Just as the judges prepared to score, Zhan Haoran appeared on the big screen, dramatically accusing Lin Qian of plagiarism. He presented a sketch album, claiming it contained his original design, which was identical to Lin Qian’s. He then insinuated that Jin Yuan, who had "made a scene" in his room the previous night, was responsible for the disappearance of his sketches. Producer Wang, seizing the opportunity, declared that Lin Qian was suspected of plagiarism and should be disqualified.

Grace, however, immediately challenged this, advocating for a thorough investigation before any conclusions were drawn, a sentiment echoed by many in the audience. Lin Qian calmly stepped forward, directly questioning Zhan Haoran about his design's concept. When he fumbled for an answer, she detailed her inspiration: the double-row buckle design originated from her graduation work, and the protruding shoulder part was inspired by an Adam Watson exhibition, which Ning Weikai had also attended.

She further revealed her customary designer's mark—a transformed "Lin" character hidden in the Roman-style boots of her design. Ning Weikai then confirmed Lin Qian’s claims, providing photo evidence from the 2008 Adam Watson show and the York University Annual Design Competition where Lin Qian was awarded for the same design. Zhan Haoran was left speechless. At this point, Jin Yuan, enraged, stormed onto the stage.

She publicly accused Zhan Haoran of cheating by using ghost designers and Producer Wang of deliberately covering up the truth, claiming he was hiding all the video evidence. Grace, backing Jin Yuan, demanded that Producer Wang release all surveillance footage. In a desperate move, Producer Wang abruptly cut the live broadcast and the microphones. The judges, including Grace and Chen Zheng, were furious, calling it blatant favoritism.

Grace delivered a stern ultimatum to Producer Wang, giving him 30 seconds to provide a clear explanation, or H Magazine would withdraw its sponsorship and pursue all legal action. As the countdown ended, the live broadcast was restored. Producer Wang, trying to save face, called for Zhan Haoran to confess the truth.

However, backstage, Zhan Haoran lashed out at Producer Wang, blaming him for ruining his career, leading to a physical altercation between the two, each pointing fingers at the other as the mastermind. Grace then took control, apologizing for the interlude on behalf of the sponsor and emphasizing the judges' impartiality based solely on design work. She announced the finalists: Ning Weikai in first place, and Lin Qian in second place.

Lin Qian, standing tall, reiterated her commitment as a designer, vowing never to plagiarize and expressing her belief in justice. After the show, Ning Weikai praised Grace for her impressive handling of the chaotic situation. Grace explained that Lin Qian was a former classmate who had supported her during her struggles, inspiring her to step up.

Ning Weikai, in turn, expressed his admiration but also questioned why Grace always maintained such an aggressive front, wishing she could be as honest as she was when judging his design. He then advised her to rest and prepare for the third round.
