Ouyang Shang informed the departing Hai Tiankuo that he had only two months of life left, emphasizing that this was repayment for what he owed him. Upon his return, Hai Tiankuo was immediately confronted by Hai Yunfan, who, consumed by hatred, launched a series of lethal attacks.
As Hai Yunfan was about to achieve his revenge, Xu Zetian appeared and intervened, claiming that General Hai was not the one who killed Hai Yunfan's parents. Hai Tiankuo quickly cut Xu Zetian off and told him to protect his younger brother, before Xu Zetian whisked him away. Hai Yunfan was left with a lingering doubt about the truth. Meanwhile, in the dream, Wang Wu finally reunited with Ouyang Shang, whom she had awaited for a century.
Wang Wu expressed her desire for them to leave together, and Wang Lu, though feigning a smile, encouraged them to do so. Unbeknownst to Wang Wu, Ouyang Shang's revival by the Goddess Stone was only temporary, lasting for "one stick of incense time," meaning he could not leave the dream. Realizing his limited time, Ouyang Shang gently knocked Wang Wu unconscious and entrusted her to Wang Lu.
He explained his situation to Wang Lu and revealed Wang Wu's true feelings for him. Ouyang Shang admitted his envy for Wang Lu, who could always be by Wang Wu's side, and clarified that Wang Wu's affection for Wang Lu was genuine, not merely because Wang Lu shared his Void Magic Root.
