Xi Shan cried on Fu Xiaoning's back as he carried her home from the restaurant late at night, telling him that she should have listened to him and never come to Shanghai, as her life was bitter and she wasn't happy at all. Xiaoning, feeling like a failure, acknowledged that he had managed to take care of everything else but couldn't take good care of her. The next morning, Luo Zu'er met Xiaoning for breakfast at a restaurant.

She had already ordered his favorite coffee and pastries. Zu'er then asked about their fake marriage plan. Xiaoning explained that Xi Shan was unhappy with the idea, suggesting he find someone else to help her. Zu'er, noting that Xiaoning often mentioned their arguments, questioned why Xi Shan always mistrusted him despite his kindness. Xiaoning defended Xi Shan, admitting he hadn't considered things from her perspective and much of the responsibility for her unhappiness was his.

Meanwhile, Shao Pengcheng and Cheng Zhenzhen arrived at Grandfather Zhong's house early, bringing him the good news that Miss Chen was still alive in Seattle, USA. They asked him to recall if Miss Chen had taken a drawing when she left Shanghai. Grandfather Zhong initially dismissed the drawing of a small dog with a ball as "not even a drawing," believing Miss Chen had perished and the sketch was likely lost at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.

Pengcheng then showed him a picture of the drawing on his phone, which Grandfather Zhong immediately recognized as his own, asking excitedly where it was now and if Miss Chen had given it away. Zhenzhen calmed him, revealing that Miss Chen had not met with tragedy that year and the drawing had continuously been in her bedroom. They explained that Miss Chen and her family had left Shanghai for Hong Kong, planning to take a ship to the U. S.

However, their tickets were unexpectedly bought by a wealthy businessman, which inadvertently saved them from a later shipwreck. They eventually immigrated to the U. S. many years later. Pengcheng recounted how he and Zhenzhen had posted the drawing on an online forum for overseas Chinese users, asking for information. Just the day before, an eighteen-year-old named Peter Yu from Seattle replied, saying a drawing just like it hung in his grandmother's bedroom, and her last name was Chen.

Grandfather Zhong was overwhelmed with joy, exclaiming, "Thank God!" and tearfully stating that good people deserve good things. He immediately offered to rent or even give his house to the Garden Store in gratitude, but Pengcheng politely declined, saying their true happiness was seeing him reconnect with Miss Chen. Grandfather Zhong then expressed his desire to go to the U. S. Zhenzhen reassured him that they could arrange a video call right away.

Eagerly, Grandfather Zhong changed into fresh clothes before standing in front of the screen. The video call connected, and he saw an elderly woman, Miss Chen (Pei Jun). He called out her name, and she recognized him as "Ah Mao." Tears streamed down their faces as they reunited after over half a century. Both expressed their disbelief and how they had constantly searched for each other. Miss Chen (Pei Jun) revealed that after moving to the U. S.

, she asked friends in China to look for him, but they found nothing. Grandfather Zhong explained that he had changed his name to Zhong Zhi Heng after 1949 when he entered Shanghai Art School, making it impossible for her to find him. Grandfather Zhong emotionally declared that now that he had seen her, he could die without regret.

Miss Chen immediately chastised him for saying such unlucky things, urging him to live and wait for her return to China so they could walk around their homeland together. He promised to wait, assuring her that her old house, yard, and even the swing were still there and well-preserved, as he had been taking care of them.

She asked if the house was worn out, and he told her it was a little old but could be repaired to its original state. They both wondered if they were dreaming, pinching themselves to confirm their reunion was real. Back at the Garden Store, the staff celebrated, especially Cheng Zhenzhen, who was thrilled that the Great Love City project had secured its first apartment for remodeling.

Hao Meili discreetly pulled Pengcheng aside and offered him a bank card containing 500,000 RMB from her savings to help fund the project, insisting he borrow it. Pengcheng, though grateful, declined, showing her his investment app as proof that he had funds. He promised to ask her if he genuinely needed the money in the future. Zhenzhen noticed Xi Shan's quiet demeanor and asked if she was alright.

Xi Shan attributed her mood to being deeply moved by the day's events. Zhenzhen suggested they talk later that night, perhaps at her place. Later, Luo Zu'er and Xiaoning were at the Garden Store. Zu'er told Xiaoning that she no longer liked Shao Pengcheng and had realized she was in love with Xiaoning instead. She proposed that their fake marriage for legal purposes could evolve into a real relationship, even discussing honeymoon plans.

Xiaoning reminded her that it was only a legal procedure and that he had a girlfriend. Zu'er confessed her past flaws—being stubborn, impulsive, and thoughtless due to a spoiled upbringing—but explained that Xiaoning's constant care and support had made her fall for him. She offered to give him time to consider her feelings. Xi Shan, who had been listening to their conversation from behind a door, quietly wept.

Xiaoning returned home to find dinner prepared by Xi Shan, but she hadn't eaten. He asked if they were celebrating, given the amount of food. Xi Shan wanted to talk. Xiaoning then asked why she had gone out drinking alone the previous night. She claimed she was suddenly homesick. He advised her not to drink alone anymore and offered to drink with her at home instead, expressing how worried he was when he couldn't find her.

Xi Shan then pointed out that he seemed troubled and asked if he had something to tell her. She then asked about Luo Zu'er and the house. Xiaoning explained that Zu'er had visited their branch looking for Pengcheng after work but couldn't reach him. He then stopped Xi Shan from taking a drink and got her a beverage, at which point Xi Shan burst into tears of joy and relief. At the hospital, Luo Zu'er visited Shao Jian.

She apologized to Pengcheng for her past "clingy" and "childish" behavior, explaining that she had since understood the importance of cherishing someone who cared for her rather than chasing after someone who didn't. Pengcheng wished her happiness with the person she had now found. Meanwhile, Zhenzhen was helping Grandfather Zhong move to a temporary one-bedroom apartment in a nearby neighborhood.

She assured him that his old house would be meticulously renovated to its original state, ready for his return and reunion with Miss Chen. Grandfather Zhong expressed his profound contentment at the prospect of reuniting with Miss Chen in their beloved home. Later, Xiaoning returned home to find all of Xi Shan's belongings gone. He desperately tried calling her, but her phone was off. Unable to find her, he went to Zhenzhen's house.

Zhenzhen, seeing his distress, agreed to accompany him back to the restaurant where Xi Shan had been drinking the previous night. In the car, Zhenzhen asked why his relationship with Xi Shan had become so strained.

Xiaoning confessed that to help Pengcheng sell his house quickly and secure funds for the Great Love City project, he had agreed to a fake marriage with Luo Zu'er, also hoping to earn a commission for a down payment on his own home in Shanghai. He admitted he hadn't told Xi Shan everything but suspected she had guessed his intentions. Zhenzhen criticized him for his foolishness, lamenting that he had deeply hurt Xi Shan.

They arrived at the restaurant, but the owner confirmed Xi Shan had not returned since Xiaoning picked her up the previous night. Xiaoning, now frantic, realized that Xi Shan had packed everything she owned, which fit into a small suitcase. He was filled with regret, lamenting that despite promising to make her happy, he hadn't even taken her to a single good restaurant or a fun place since they moved to Shanghai.
