Cong Rong felt herself losing control, unable to resist Wen Shaoqing’s allure. When she saw Wen Shaoqing leaning in for a kiss, she completely surrendered. But when the alarm went off, Cong Rong realized it had all been a dream—and a rather indecent one at that—leaving her feeling deeply embarrassed. After leaving her room and seeing that Wen Shaoqing wasn’t home, Cong Rong hurried back to her own place.
Just then, Wen Shaoqing returned from walking the dog and helped her open the door. The close proximity made Cong Rong feel flustered and awkward. She splashed her face with cold water to remind herself not to think too much about Wen Shaoqing. Before she could fully collect herself, Wen Shaoqing came in again to help her make breakfast and even suggested they eat together.
Cong Rong insisted on contributing to the living expenses, saying she didn’t want it to seem like she was taking advantage of him, and Wen Shaoqing agreed. While they were eating, Wen Shaoqing tried to pat her head, but Cong Rong instinctively blocked his hand. Seeing Wen Shaoqing lean closer, she became visibly nervous—something Wen Shaoqing immediately noticed. Cong Rong pretended to deny her nervousness, but her racing heart betrayed her, which Wen Shaoqing could clearly see.
After he left, Cong Rong was puzzled—normally she could talk circles around anyone, but around Wen Shaoqing, she stammered. Zhou Chengcheng invited Cong Rong out to eat and shared how rewarding it was to run her own shop. She then brought up Cong Rong’s relationship with Wen Shaoqing. To change the subject, Cong Rong asked to borrow some concealer and mentioned her childhood “Little Chubby.”
Zhou Chengcheng said she had heard about Little Chubby since college and wondered why Cong Rong hadn’t looked for him after returning to China. She speculated that he might’ve transformed into a handsome guy like Eddie Peng. Cong Rong began crushing on Wen Shaoqing. When Director Yan mentioned that the thermos wasn't hot, Cong Rong misheard it as Wen Shaoqing’s name and kept following him during hospital rounds.
Wen Shaoqing studied her brain CT scan, puzzled that she still didn’t realize his feelings—he thought he had made it quite obvious. Zhou Chengcheng asked Wen Rang to help her shop for hotpot ingredients at the market, but she didn’t understand a thing and was nearly overcharged by the vendors. Luckily, Wen Rang remained calm and pretended to know what he was doing, impressing Zhou Chengcheng.
She asked him to teach her, and the two ended up playfully teasing each other. When Wen Rang carried her groceries, he complained she didn’t call a cab—was she getting back at him for ditching her on a bike last time? Zhou Chengcheng ran off laughing. When Cong Rong didn’t see Wen Shaoqing arrive on time, she assumed he was late, but he had actually arrived early. She quickly took out her phone to touch up her makeup.
While discussing legal topics, Wen Shaoqing fluently answered all of her questions without a single mistake, surprising Cong Rong—she joked he must’ve eaten memory bread. Wen Shaoqing leaned in close and asked if getting everything right earned him a reward. Flustered again, Cong Rong’s heart pounded. She jumped up, told him to think about what reward he wanted, and ran off—feeling even more smitten.
At the hospital, Cong Rong looked for a chance to visit Wen Shaoqing’s office but couldn’t find him. Zhong Zhen came in and handed her a letter, saying Wen Shaoqing had asked him to give it to her before going on a business trip. Zhong Zhen assumed Wen Shaoqing wanted Cong Rong to look after him, but in reality, the instructions were for her to take care of Rang Yi Rang.
Zhou Chengcheng invited Cong Rong to taste her homemade barbecue, and it was unexpectedly delicious. Cong Rong checked her phone and complained that Wen Shaoqing hadn’t contacted her all day. When she got home, she went to check on Rang Yi Rang and even took pictures for Wen Shaoqing, describing the details. While walking Rang Yi Rang, the dog dashed off too quickly and tired her out—Wen Shaoqing watched quietly from nearby.
While lying on the sofa, Cong Rong planned to look through a photo album but was startled by Wen Shaoqing coming in. She dropped the album and missed the photo of Little Chubby—still unaware that Wen Shaoqing was him.
