Wen Shaoqing thought Cong Rong had come to meet him as promised, but she didn’t recognize him from their childhood and insisted she was only there for work. He felt disappointed, and she didn’t understand his behavior. After finishing a meeting, Zhong Zhen called Wen Shaoqing, who dragged him to a boxing gym. Zhong Zhen didn’t dare to defy him. Cong Rong vented to Zhou Chengcheng, only to discover Zhou Chengcheng had opened a Western restaurant that was booming.
Cong Rong told her about seeing Wen Shaoqing at the hospital. Zhou Chengcheng believed it was fate and encouraged her to seize the opportunity and pursue the job she loved. Even though she thought Cong Rong, with her high degree and capabilities, would stay abroad, she admired her decision to return and switch fields.

When Cong Rong opened the door in total darkness, she thought it was Zhong Zhen and hugged the person without hesitation—only to realize it was Wen Shaoqing. They sat down in the living room for a “negotiation. ” Zhong Zhen felt the atmosphere was weird and made an excuse to go buy snacks. Wen Shaoqing asked Cong Rong to add him on WeChat for work convenience. She was petty about it, saying she didn’t want to waste his precious time.
So he tempted her with the medical dispute summary about Grandpa Lin. For work’s sake, she reluctantly agreed to add him—only to find his WeChat name bizarre: Febuxostat. Back in her room, Cong Rong felt embarrassed about hugging Wen Shaoqing earlier, especially after openly commenting on how sexy his body was. Wen Shaoqing successfully added her and labeled her as “Heroine,” remembering how she once helped him as a child.
He messaged her, asking her to show up at 5 a. m. so he could give her the summary. Cong Rong replied that she wanted to see what tricks he was playing. She showed up as asked, and Wen Shaoqing had bought her sports gear to go jogging with him. Cong Rong agreed to do whatever it took for work, but made clear she wouldn’t casually give her heart or body. She urged him to hand over the report quickly.
Wen Shaoqing kept Cong Rong by his side while working. Chen Cu thought she was a new junior doctor, only to learn she was from the admin office. Zhong Zhen answered a question wrong and was punished to copy something 50 times, but still had to continue working. During a ward check, Qin Chu came over to work with Wen Shaoqing. Zhong Zhen told Cong Rong that Qin Chu and Wen Shaoqing were top-tier at the hospital.
Observing Wen Shaoqing’s rounds, Cong Rong quickly learned how to respond to patients—it was the same lines over and over, so she quickly memorized them. Zhou Chengcheng’s business was booming, and a staff member suggested adding more tables. She noticed the bookstore next door, Let-Yi Bookstore, and wanted to negotiate, but Wen Rang wouldn’t give her a chance. Still, she decided to place tables at the entrance.
After a day of rounds with Wen Shaoqing, Cong Rong gained new respect for how busy he was but still pressed him for the summary. During dinner, he received an emergency call and left for surgery. Cong Rong gave him her daytime hours, knowing her role in the hospital wasn’t something she could flaunt. Director Yan comforted her. Wen Rang didn’t want Zhou Chengcheng placing tables at the entrance and brought out Let-Yi to scare away customers.
Zhou Chengcheng ranted to Cong Rong and noticed her limited-edition sneakers. Cong Rong admitted they were from Wen Shaoqing but insisted it was to scare her off. Zhou Chengcheng didn’t believe her and said that was a clear sign of interest. After spending a day with him, Cong Rong saw a different side of Wen Shaoqing. When he came out of surgery and saw her asleep in a chair, he sat beside her and let her lean on his shoulder, just like when they were kids.
