My Dear GuardianĀ Episode 35 Recap
> My Dear GuardianĀ Recap
Zhuo Ran, accompanied by his group, prepared to infiltrate the training ground near the border, an area known to be a minefield from a decade-old conflict between China and X Nation. During their crossing, one of his men accidentally stepped on a landmine, triggering an explosion. Meanwhile, at the training ground, Xia Chu was delivering medicines for wounds and dysentery when she discovered Brigade Commander Dong Zhigang suffering from a sudden illness.
Quickly assessing the situation, Xia Chu identified it as severe anaphylaxis with laryngeal edema, likely due to an insect bite, and immediately began emergency treatment. Despite Dong Zhigang's reluctance to leave his soldiers, he was ultimately sent to the district hospital for further treatment under the Political Commissar's orders. Upon learning of the border explosion, the command post ordered Liang Muze's Team Thunder to investigate the incident at Border Number 6.
Concerned about potential border crossings due to the proximity of the training ground, the commander in chief instructed them to equip themselves with live ammunition. Separately, the Red Team, positioned nearby, also heard the explosion. Their platoon leader speculated it might be wildlife triggering old landmines and planned to bypass the border to launch a surprise attack on the Blue Team. Seizing the opportunity, Zhuo Ran instructed his injured man to call for help from the Blue Team.
After the Blue Teamās platoon leader arrived and confirmed the injury, Zhuo Ran's group disappeared, intending to use the incident to find a doctor. The injured foreigner was then taken to the district hospital, where Dong Zhigang was also receiving treatment. The injured foreigner relayed information back to Zhuo Ran, stating Xia Chu was returning to the drill site. Acting on this, Zhuo Ran's subordinates intercepted her, abducting Xia Chu in a yellow truck.
Upon learning of the incident, the commander in chief instructed Liang Muze and his team to swiftly locate the perpetrators and the vehicle. After arriving at the scene, Xiao Xiao informed Liang Muze about Xia Chu's abduction. Liang Muze, using a locator, discovered their trajectory towards the beach, suggesting they were heading for the open sea. He immediately requested a helicopter from the command post.
The commander in chief approved the request, stressing that Liang Muze must rescue the hostage before they reached international waters. Xia Chu was stunned to find Zhuo Ran was her captor and demanded to know his true identity, asserting that the Zhuo Ran she knew would never treat her this way.
Zhuo Ran, however, accused her of abandoning him and choosing Liang Muze, whom he claimed had killed 'him' (referring to the real Zhuo Ran), declaring that everything happening was a price she had to pay. His subordinates urged him to hasten their departure, reminding him that "Old Master" was awaiting them in the open sea. Zhuo Ran and his group then sped away in speedboats towards an isolated island, leading Liang Muze to request permission to land there.
Upon landing on the island, Team Thunder engaged in a fierce gunfight with Zhuo Ranās group. Zhuo Ran instructed his subordinates to head to the rooftop, promising to cover their retreat. Once they were gone, Zhuo Ran himself slipped away through the trees and escaped on a fishing boat he had previously prepared. Meanwhile, another abductor held Xia Chu captive, threatening Liang Muze. Xia Chu resisted, causing them both to fall from the building.
Liang Muze, with quick reflexes, managed to save Xia Chu from the perilous fall. Once safe, a traumatized Xia Chu clung to Liang Muze, sobbing and declaring her unwavering desire to follow him wherever she went. Liang Muze comforted her, but soon after, due to his injuries, he lost consciousness. Later, while reviewing surveillance footage from the Liang Village entrance, a foreign military representative identified Zhuo Ran's true identity as Pei Yu.
Elsewhere, Tian Yong endured brutal torture at the hands of the Old Master, to the point of hallucinating Liang Shaoxue. When Long Yi came to check on him, Tian Yong, with a final burst of cunning, uttered a proverb about betrayal and then used a small needle hidden in his ring to stab Long Yi. He then subdued Long Yi and secretly got out of his immediate confinement.
When Long Yi regained consciousness and reported Tian Yong's "escape" to the Old Master, surveillance footage revealed that Tian Yong had not actually left the villa. The Old Master went to the study, finding Tian Yong feigning drug addiction, desperately begging for more. Amused, the Old Master scoffed, declaring Tian Yong to be utterly useless.
