> My Dear GuardianĀ  Recap

Mi Gu, a journalist, while on a call with Zhuo Ran, mentioned seeing a news report about a drug dealer's son who bore a striking resemblance to him. Despite Zhuo Ran's previous claim of having no siblings, Mi Gu, with her journalistic instincts, spent the entire afternoon pondering the potential connection, wondering if it was a mere coincidence or related to his sudden disappearance. Soon after, Zhuo Ran covertly entered Mi Gu's company and deleted the incriminating video footage.

Meanwhile, Rao Feng regained consciousness and immediately inquired about Liang Shaoxue and Li Lei. He was informed that Li Lei was fine and the suspect was dead, but he needed to rest due to a serious concussion. Rao Feng, eager to be discharged, pressed for an answer, but Xia Chu insisted he needed more time to recuperate. Xia Chu then excused herself, entrusting Liang Shaoxue with Rao Feng's care and reminding her to ensure he rested.

Xia Chu proceeded to change Liang Muze's dressing. She mentioned that Ke Wei's family wished to visit the injured police officers. Liang Muze saw no need for it, but Xia Chu revealed her suspicion that the explosion was not merely a teenager's crime.

She pointed out that Ke Wei's computer screensaver depicted a suicide victim with the words "City of Desire," a phrase also found on a photo of a dead body on the assassin's phone who had attacked them previously. Liang Muze explained that the "City of Desire" was a dark and unfathomable world. As Xia Chu tended to his wound, she mused about the difficulty of a relationship between them given their respective dangerous professions.

Liang Muze encouraged her to try, playfully affirming that he only ever made such a statement to her. Their conversation was interrupted by the unexpected arrival of Xia Guang Yuan, Xia Chu's father, who promptly dismissed Liang Muze, stating he wished to speak with his daughter alone. Liang Shaoxue offered Rao Feng breakfast and engaged in conversation with him.

She told him that she finally understood why he always tried to distance her and why he told others she wasn't his daughter. She then revealed that she had completed a portrait for his colleagues, explaining how she encountered a man driving through the Yunshan tunnel around 9 PM one night, then awoke in the emergency room, brought there by Zhuo Ran, Xia Chu's former boyfriend.

Meanwhile, at the police station, officials confirmed the suspect's identity based on Liang Shaoxue's sketch. The suspect had a history of drug abuse, frequently logging into "City of Desire," and was linked to a game task related to the explosion from the elusive "Scary Pirate." They believed the suspect had transacted with "Scary Pirate" in the Yunshan tunnel.

Rao Feng, acknowledging Liang Shaoxue's help, urged her to return to the US for her safety, but she steadfastly refused, vowing to stay until his full recovery. After feeding Rao Feng, Liang Shaoxue went to dispose of trash and saw Tian Yong signing organ donation papers. He explained his decision stemmed from a past near-fatal gunshot wound. Overwhelmed, Liang Shaoxue hugged Tian Yong amidst the crowded hospital and playfully asked him to take her to the subway station.

Tian Yong initially hesitated, citing Captain Liang Muze's absence, but Liang Muze returned at that moment and instructed Tian Yong to escort Liang Shaoxue to the subway station. Xia Guang Yuan voiced his strong disapproval of Liang Muze, expressing his deep apprehension about Xia Chu associating with a military man. Xia Chu defended Liang Muze as an upright soldier who treated her with respect during her stay at his home.

She confessed that while her initial pretense of being his girlfriend was to appease his mother, she was now seriously considering a real relationship with him. Xia Guang Yuan vehemently opposed this, demanding she change careers and return to Dong'an. He argued that he had encouraged her to study medicine and explore the world, not to become a soldier's wife whose life would revolve around him, calling it a "wasted life." He selfishly admitted he wanted to keep her safe.

Xia Chu, needing to work, stated they would discuss it later. On the way to the subway station, Liang Shaoxue gave Tian Yong a watch, playfully suggesting it would allow them to "live in each other's time." She then requested a photo together and, seizing the moment, kissed him on the cheek, leaving Tian Yong visibly flustered.

Subsequently, Tian Yong presented Liang Shaoxue with a custom-made bulletproof vest crafted from advanced Dyneema material, explaining its lightness and softness, and urged her to wear it for her safety and Rao Feng's peace of mind. As they waited for the bus, a sudden gunfight erupted nearby. Tian Yong, hearing the commotion, rushed to assist. A pregnant drug dealer fired at him, but he was protected by the vest, which blocked the bullet.

He quickly reassured Liang Shaoxue that it "really worked." The drug dealer apprehended by Tian Yong was identified as Li Zhi Peng, the owner of a youth hostel who covertly engaged in drug trafficking. He was the same individual involved in the bar operation that had been called off due to the parties moving their transaction to the Yunshan Tunnel. Li Zhi Peng's online contact was the "Scary Pirate," operating on "City of Desire," the largest online drug trading platform.

The police acknowledged Tian Yong's crucial role and his unfamiliarity with the dark web. They revealed that "Old Master," the hidden figure coercing villagers into drug trafficking at the border, was the true leader of the international mercenary group T4, involved in explosives, drugs, human, and organ trafficking across Southeast Asia. A helper of Old Master had recently offered to be an informant.

While police were still verifying if Old Master was indeed "Scary Pirate," they planned to use Li Zhi Peng to contact "Scary Pirate" via "City of Desire," offering a large sum of cash to be moved. Tian Yong was chosen as the liaison due to his unique combination of single combat skills, field experience, and non-affiliation with the police. His mission was to gather evidence of "Scary Pirate's" true identity and locate "Old Master." Tian Yong accepted the dangerous assignment.

Meanwhile, Long Yi, having been released, was approached by Zhuo Ran, who attempted to sow discord between Long Yi and Old Master. Zhuo Ran suggested that Old Master had orchestrated the bombing of Liang Muze's neighborhood, even knowing Long Yi was there, as retaliation against the police for seizing his goods. He implied that Old Master was indifferent to Long Yi's life, being safe abroad.

However, Long Yi, wary of Zhuo Ran's motives, dismissed him, reminding him of his subordinate status and warning him against instigating trouble with Old Master. Later, Xia Guang Yuan was still waiting for Xia Chu, persisting in his demand for her to quit her job and return to Dong'an. Xia Chu, finding his stubbornness unusual, questioned his underlying reasons. He tearfully explained that they were old and could not bear the thought of anything happening to her.

Later, during her rounds, Xia Chu witnessed Xiao Xiao break down in distress, fearing she had contracted Hepatitis B from Ke Wei. Xiao Xiao explained that Ke Wei had tested positive for Hepatitis B and during his surgery, they had to restrain him, leading to significant blood exposure. She expressed deep regret for having told her parents and worried about their reaction if she were infected.

Xia Chu also learned that while her exposure was primarily psychological, Dr. Zhang Yichi, who performed Ke Wei's surgery, had cut his finger with a hemostatic forceps and continued to work, seeing even more patients than usual, causing immense concern among their colleagues about his well-being.

Additionally, Xia Chu was informed that the pregnant woman from the earlier gunfight had died during surgery due to uncontrollable bleeding, leaving behind a pair of twins who were now suffering from neonatal withdrawal syndrome and were under intensive care.
