Jiaojiao compliments both Nan Xing and Xiao Wudi, surprised to have such a handsome neighbor. Xiao Wudi pretends to take Nan Xing out for a meal, but he actually plans to give her a makeover. Nan Xing changes clothes but feels completely uncomfortable. Xiao Wudi still finds something missing and has her change her hairstyle. He even takes her to go on blind dates.

After the makeover, Nan Xing becomes very popular on dating apps, but she only wants to go home. Xiao Wudi threatens her: if she refuses to go on dates, he’ll tell her mother the truth about his identity. Nan Xing has no choice but to grit her teeth and go on the blind dates, but every suitor is disappointing. After several interviews, she desperately wants to leave.

Just then, Ye Qing sends her to Lu Zichen’s house to pick up a manuscript. Xiao Wudi fails to stop her. Nan Xing arrives at Lu Zichen’s home and uses the password Ye Qing gave her to enter. She calls out but gets no response. She heads upstairs to find him and is startled by the eerie writing atmosphere.

Just as she’s about to leave with the manuscript, she notices someone in the bathroom—Lu Zichen is lying motionless in the bathtub. She instinctively cries for help and ends up summoning Xiao Wudi. Xiao Wudi assesses the situation and realizes Lu Zichen is simply exhausted and fell asleep in the tub. The red stains on his body are just from rose bath salts.

Xiao Wudi gives him a few acupuncture jabs, and Lu Zichen wakes up, saying his qi and blood were overworked. Nan Xing gets nervous and her legs go numb. She can only yell at Lu Zichen from a distance. Xiao Wudi thinks she’s acting weird and suspects she likes Lu Zichen. Nan Xing denies it and says she’s just one of Lu Zichen’s readers. She then flirts with Xiao Wudi on purpose.

Xiao Wudi’s heart races—he seems to be drawn to Nan Xing but doubts his feelings. On the way home, Xiao Wudi is silent. Nan Xing assumes she frightened him. Xiao Wudi wants to read Lu Zichen’s work and plans to give Nan Xing a new strategy, promising not to take her on any more blind dates. Nan Xing’s mother wants to match them up, thinking they have a romantic connection.

Nan Xing tries to return the clothes from the makeover, but Xiao Wudi calls her into the room. Based on Lu Zichen’s writing, Xiao Wudi deduces that his ideal woman is like the female lead Su Yu, who coincidentally resembles Ye Qing. Xiao Wudi believes that someone like Su Yu—a woman with high IQ and EQ—has nothing in common with Nan Xing. But he can help her disguise and transform herself.

Nan Xing finds this unbelievable and quickly leaves to go shopping with Sisi. Sisi comforts her, saying even if work isn’t going well, maybe she’ll find love. Though Nan Xing isn’t liked by her boss, she might have better luck elsewhere. Nan Xing’s mom brings food to Xiao Wudi. She says he reminds her of her son. It turns out she used to live with her son across from Nan Xing and her father.

They often visited each other, but before a relationship could develop, a fire broke out. She lost her son, and Nan Xing lost her father. Since then, she’s treated Nan Xing like her own daughter. Xiao Wudi realizes the house he’s living in once belonged to Nan Xing and her father—it holds deep meaning, and he can’t sleep that night.

Nan Xing gives the money from returning the clothes back to Xiao Wudi and stands at the door with mixed emotions. Xiao Wudi thinks Nan Xing likes him. She deliberately claims she already likes someone else to prevent him from helping her chase Lu Zichen. Xiao Wudi confesses and says he wants to date her.
