> Mr. Bad Recap

From Nan Xing’s mom, Xiao Wudi learned that during adolescence, Nan Xing had a crush on her son Mao Xiaojun, and they had attended the same middle school. At the time, Nan Xing had poor grades and constantly chased after Mao Xiaojun, asking him to tutor her, but he found her annoying. Nan Xing’s mom had never interfered, thinking the two were still immature. Later, a fire broke out, and Mao Xiaojun died.

Since then, Nan Xing developed a panic disorder and never dated again. Only then did Xiao Wudi understand why she had been single for so long. At Sujiang Middle School’s anniversary event, Ye Qing gave a speech as an outstanding alumna, while Lu Zichen sat in the audience watching her the whole time. Nan Xing went to the equipment room and was almost hit by a falling box, but Xiao Wudi showed up just in time.

When he saw Mao Xiaojun’s name, he fell into a gloomy mood and reminded Nan Xing to stay safe. Nan Xing told herself not to miss the person she liked right in front of her. Before Xiao Wudi left, she asked him to join her on the two-day, one-night writing retreat. Ye Qing and Lu Zichen’s company generously donated to the school, earning praise from the principal.

Lu Zichen’s father told the principal not to praise too much—he wanted Lu Zichen to take over the company. Lu Zichen thought the donation was enough and didn’t expect so many follow-up responsibilities. Luckily, Ye Qing was always there to help. She hadn’t told Lu Zichen that, during the early days of their startup, she had approached his father for investment. His father agreed on the condition that Ye Qing never date Lu Zichen, or he’d withdraw the investment.

To prepare for the writing retreat, Nan Xing wanted to plan her outfit in advance. Her mom suggested she wear more skirts and tie her hair in a ponytail. Even in her sleep, Nan Xing kept thinking about how to confess her feelings to Xiao Wudi during the trip. Xiao Wudi also looked up travel guides for the old town, planning to confess in the perfect setting.

Both of them packed carefully—Xiao Wudi sprayed on cologne, and Nan Xing wore a dress. They arrived at the departure point and saw Hu Jiaojiao calling roll. When she saw Xiao Wudi, she was thrilled, but Xiao Wudi silently thought about how she had ruined his lunch date with Nan Xing before. He didn’t expect Lu Zichen to join such an event, but there he was, dragging a suitcase.

Ye Qing was a little surprised and asked why he hadn’t told her in advance so she could mentally prepare. When it came time to assign rooms, Nan Xing roomed with Jiaojiao. Due to space limitations in the guesthouse, Lu Zichen had to share a room with Xiao Wudi.

Lu Zichen wanted to stay at a nearby guesthouse and hinted at Nan Xing to help, but Xiao Wudi stopped her, reminding her that she was here as an author, not his assistant. With no choice, and at Ye Qing’s urging, Lu Zichen agreed to share the room. Xiao Wudi had already scouted the old town in advance and secretly took Nan Xing away from the group. They ate jelly noodles and tried pottery together.

Xiao Wudi wanted to make an Eiffel Tower; Nan Xing guided him hand-in-hand, and the two had a great time. Nan Xing wanted to make a souvenir representing their bond, and Xiao Wudi made it with her. When their hands touched, sparks flew. Xiao Wudi was very pleased and mocked Lu Zichen for not understanding love. Lu Zichen argued that in the novel they wrote, the male lead wasn’t capable of giving the female lead happiness.

Xiao Wudi got anxious—he believed the character was based on himself. Lu Zichen said he loved tragic romances and, based on the novel’s plot, the male lead would disappear after completing his mission, leaving the female lead alone. Xiao Wudi was speechless, suddenly afraid he might face the same fate. After dinner, everyone planned to watch fireworks together, but Xiao Wudi wasn’t in the mood. Nan Xing didn’t want to see the fireworks either—she just wanted to stay with him. Xiao Wudi said he wanted to rest at the guesthouse, and Nan Xing said she wanted to rest too.
