Miss The Dragon Episode 19 Recap
> Miss The Dragon Recap
Chenyue frequently dreams of the Dragon King, Yuchi, though his face always remains indistinct, leaving her with a persistent feeling that she must seek him out. Upon awakening, she receives grave news: Dongluo forces, led by Crown Prince Han Xiyun, are launching a surprise attack. A scout reports their brutal path, having destroyed five villages and left no survivors, even killing border patrolman Zhong Sheng.
Despite Lu Zheng's pleas for her to remain safe at camp, emphasizing that an army cannot be without its commander, Chenyue resolves to lead the counter-attack herself, entrusting the camp to Uncle Zhao and passionately rallying her troops. Meanwhile, Crown Prince Han Xiyun is informed of the Feng Army's raid. Recognizing Feng Chenyue's characteristic boldness, he declares his intent to personally claim her head. On the battlefield, Feng Chenyue engages Han Xiyun in a fierce duel.
When she is in danger, an ordinary-looking soldier with extraordinary skill intervenes to protect her, drawing her attention. As the Feng army withdraws after a successful raid, Han Xiyun orders his archers to fire. The skilled soldier, Longyan in disguise, discreetly creates a magical barrier, ensuring Chenyue retreats unharmed. After the battle, Chenyue is consumed by thoughts of the mysterious soldier, suspecting that the Dragon King from her dreams secretly protected her.
Elsewhere, Qing Qing, learning of Chenyue's miraculous escape, deduces Longyan's involvement. She is astonished to find the majestic Dragon King disguised as a lowly soldier, performing menial tasks. Longyan explains his sole purpose is to protect Chenyue. He recounts how his past intervention led to her previous incarnation living a life of sorrow due to her unrequited love for him.
He now believes true love is selfless protection, not selfish possession, and is determined to let Chenyue fulfill her own aspirations in this life, even if it means she loves someone else. For his interference, Longyan endures painful thunder punishments from the heavens. The Immortal of Fate confronts him, providing a restorative elixir but sternly warning that using his magic again within the next forty-nine days will result in a severe backlash, especially if his spiritual energy is low.
Reassured that Chenyue is protected by the "Soul of the General," Longyan accepts the risk. Inspired by the success, Chenyue proposes a dawn counter-attack to burn Dongluo's supplies, a plan Lu Zheng supports. She leads her troops to confront Han Xiyun, captures him, and demands his forces surrender. Feigning remorse, Han Xiyun claims to hate war and offers to negotiate a century of peace. Though skeptical, Chenyue agrees to discuss the terms in her camp.
As she leads the way, Han Xiyun betrays her, launching a hidden dart. Chenyue dodges, and the projectile strikes Han Xiyun in his own eye, blinding him. Enraged, he orders his men to kill her. As arrows rain down on the retreating Feng army, Longyan, despite the Immortal of Fate's warning, shields Chenyue and takes an arrow meant for her. Longyan feigns unconsciousness as Chenyue and Lu Zheng tend to him.
Chenyue explains to Lu Zheng that this is the same soldier who saved her before. Lu Zheng commends his valor, and it is revealed that Chenyue has already promoted him to Brave Sergeant for his previous heroism. When Chenyue affectionately calls Lu Zheng "Brother Zheng," the pretending-to-be-asleep Longyan bristles with jealousy. Meanwhile, a furious Han Xiyun learns his eye injury is incurable. His rage is interrupted by the Imperial Advisor, who delivers the King of Dongluo's order to retreat.
The Advisor explains their army's morale is shattered and supplies are destroyed, leaving no hope of victory. Reluctantly, Han Xiyun concedes. Back in her camp, as she discusses pursuing the enemy, Chenyue receives a letter that appears to affirm her strategy.
