Miss The Dragon Episode 1 Recap
> Miss The Dragon Recap
Xiahou Xue and her maid, Liuying, traveled in a carriage towards the Flower-wearing Banquet. Xiahou Xue fretted about being late, but she playfully teased Liuying for being even more anxious. Liuying was engrossed in a book titled "Love with a Dragon," a tale of a Dragon King and a human girl who found happiness after enduring countless hardships. Xiahou Xue, however, dismissed such stories, declaring she didn't believe dragons existed.
Liuying, holding onto her romantic notions, maintained her belief that one day she might truly see a dragon. Suddenly, their path was blocked by a group of hungry refugees. In the ensuing chaos, Xiahou Xue twisted her ankle. Liuying bravely protected her mistress and offered their food to the desperate people. To treat the injury, Liuying proposed a unique remedy passed down from her father: a poultice made from gardenia fruits, eggs, flour, and liquor.
Though initially skeptical, Xiahou Xue found great relief from the pain after the application. As they prepared to depart, Liuying gazed skyward and gasped, pointing out a massive white dragon soaring through the clouds, but Xiahou Xue dismissed it as her overactive imagination. Meanwhile, in the ethereal Dragon Pool, the silver-haired Yuchi Longyan emerged, having just endured the nine thunder strikes of his second heavenly tribulation.
His friend, the Immortal of Fate, congratulated him but also chided him for his habit of appearing in human form unclothed. The Immortal of Fate then revealed a critical concern: a seemingly minor heart injury Yuchi Longyan sustained during the tribulation could prevent him from surviving the upcoming third and final heavenly tribulation, which was crucial for his ascension to a true Dragon Immortal.
To aid him, the Immortal of Fate suggested retrieving the Ancient Golden Armor, a powerful artifact stolen from the Heavenly Palace, now in the possession of the formidable Double Demons. As the sky unexpectedly darkened, Liuying was tending to a small, injured Blue Bird she had taken in. The bird, which was secretly cultivating, was drawn to Liuying's unique, cool fragrance and refused to leave. Simultaneously, Yuchi Longyan confronted the Double Demons in their lair.
Despite his injury, he was ambushed and nearly ensnared by their magic. Later, Xiahou Xue and Liuying explored the beautiful Fallen-flower Valley behind the mansion, where they discovered an injured, immobile snake. Xiahou Xue, who feared snakes, recoiled, and Liuying admitted her own childhood trauma of being bitten. Still, Xiahou Xue found the silvery-white snake pretty and precious, urging Liuying to rescue it. She gave Liuying her father’s Anti-Poison Ointment from the South for protection.
Reluctantly, Liuying approached the snake, which was Yuchi Longyan in disguise, and noted its surprisingly cold body and pleasant scent. Back in her room, Liuying placed the snake in a cage, prompting an indignant internal protest from Yuchi Longyan, who was unaccustomed to such treatment. Seeing its distress, Liuying released him. To her surprise, the snake, which she named Xiaobai, ignored its cage and settled on her quilt and pillow.
Liuying resigned herself to sleeping on the floor and carefully applied her late father's special ointment to Xiaobai's wounds, reflecting on her father's skill as a master of healing. At lunchtime, Liuying discovered Xiaobai refused to eat raw quail eggs, instead preferring her own cooked steamed egg custard. From then on, she fed him warm dishes and pastries. Xiahou Xue found the snake's diet peculiar and, while still wary, gave Liuying some durian candy for it.
That evening, Liuying brought Xiaobai a selection of cakes and steamed egg from Xiahou Xue's dinner. To avoid eating in front of her, Yuchi Longyan waited for her to turn away to get tea, then devoured everything. When offered the durian candy, he found its taste repulsive but couldn't spit it out under her watchful eye. As night fell, unsure of Xiaobai's gender, Liuying decided to sleep on the floor, citing the principle that men and women should maintain distance.
Yuchi Longyan, in his snake form, comically misinterpreted her words as an invitation to kiss her. Later, he transformed into his human form in the bed. The next morning, he awoke to the perplexing sight of Liuying embracing him in her sleep. Unfamiliar with such human affection, he frowned and tugged at her clothes, trying to create some distance.
