Su Mo sought Master Sishi's help to create a Sunlight Protection Pearl, as he needed it to venture into the Ghost and Deity Abyss. Master Sishi expressed deep concern, warning that if anything were to happen to Su Mo, it would be a significant loss for the entire Quanxian clan. Meanwhile, Bai Ying approached Zhen Lan, troubled by his restlessness since returning from his meeting with Su Mo.

Zhen Lan, worried she might discover Su Mo was cultivating a forbidden technique, stammered and tried to evade her questions. However, he accidentally let slip that Su Mo had been to Jing Pagoda, causing Bai Ying great concern as she knew Su Mo's visit there would be dangerous. Ning Liang continued to grieve for Han Zhou, lamenting that they grew up together only to be eternally separated.

Xi Jing comforted her, advising her to let go and to cherish those around her while they are present, like Na Sheng who openly shows affection for Yan Xi. When Bai Ying arrived, hoping to discreetly inquire about Su Mo's condition, Xi Jing instructed Ning Liang to use her magic to notify Su Mo of Bai Ying's presence. Bai Ying, wanting to avoid suspicion about her true intentions, pretended to visit Na Sheng.

She was pleased to learn that Na Sheng was diligently practicing her underwater swimming techniques, with Yan Xi's guidance. Bai Ying then told Na Sheng that they were actively searching for the Water Dispelling Pearl, and once found, Su Mo would accompany Na Sheng underwater. Na Sheng offered to demonstrate a new bubble spell she had learned for Bai Ying. Inside the magic-infused bubble, Bai Ying found a moment of profound quiet.

She reflected on her near-death experience at Ten Mile Pavilion, where she almost perished under the sunlight but was miraculously rescued by Su Mo. However, just when she had decided to fully embrace her feelings for him, he had vanished. Unbeknownst to Bai Ying, Su Mo had arrived and overheard her heartfelt confession from outside the bubble. Seeing him, Bai Ying was overcome with shyness and quickly fled. Her words, however, only solidified Su Mo's resolve.

Su Mo explained to Master Sishi his desire to make up for a mistake from a hundred years ago, stating that if he hadn't entered Jing Pagoda, Bai Ying would not have fallen in love with him, nor would misfortune have befallen her. He admitted that it was he who owed her.

He felt that as the Emperor of the Sea, he had a responsibility to protect Quanxian and lead them home, but as a merperson who only loves once, he couldn't even protect the woman he loved. He believed if he couldn't protect his loved one, he couldn't protect his clan. Master Sishi, reflecting on how he couldn't stop Chun Huang 7,000 years ago, recognized that he also couldn't change the Sea Emperor's determination now.

He presented Su Mo with a Jade Pearl, instructing him to infuse it with spiritual consciousness to create the Sunlight Protection Pearl and urged caution during the process. The High Priest, after reviewing ancient texts, discovered the whereabouts of the Water Dispelling Pearl. He revealed through the Water Mirror that the pearl was located in Jiuyi Mountain, specifically atop Queen Bai Wei's phoenix coronet, buried in her tomb.

However, he warned that Jiuyi Mountain was not easily accessible, especially for non-Kongsang individuals, and was protected by a formidable barrier and mischievous evil spirits, further complicated by the Qing Clan's collusion with Cangliu. Su Mo, suspecting a deeper connection, tasked Yan Xi with investigating the origins of the Mirror Technique and Splitting Technique. He noted that these forbidden arts were foreign to Yunhuang yet practiced by those at Jing Pagoda, and he wanted to uncover their link.

Later, Zhen Lan noticed a pair of unsettling eyes appear in the High Priest's Water Mirror. The High Priest explained that while only Kongsang High Priests could activate their Water Mirror, there was another one located in Jing Pagoda's Heavenly Temple. This revelation disturbed Zhen Lan, suggesting an unknown party could be observing them. He promptly informed Su Mo of his discovery, expressing concern that Cangliu, now having access to a Water Mirror, might soon discover their hidden city.

Su Mo deduced that the mysterious figure helping Cangliu from behind the scenes, whom he had previously encountered at Jing Pagoda, was now using the Water Mirror to observe Kongsang. Back at Wuse City, some Kongsang elders urged Zhen Lan to abandon the alliance with Su Mo, arguing that with a clue to the Water Dispelling Pearl, they no longer needed the Quanxian's cooperation. Zhen Lan vehemently disagreed, reminding them that the alliance was crucial for uniting against Cangliu.

He revealed that Su Mo had covertly helped them on multiple occasions, including breaching Jing City's barrier, burning Cangliu's military camp, and conjuring dark clouds to protect them at Ten Mile Pavilion. He stressed Su Mo's sincerity and urged his subordinates to drop their suspicions and remain united. Bai Ying, upon hearing Zhen Lan's explanation, finally understood Su Mo's past secrecy.

She realized that he had performed those dangerous acts to protect her, likely fearing she would worry about his health if she knew he was cultivating forbidden techniques. She also mused that Su Mo might have overheard her words in the bubble and was keeping his distance due to his continued practice of the Mirror Technique. She had promised Su Mo a meeting at Na Sheng's place.

However, Su Mo waited for an entire day and night but Bai Ying never appeared, leaving him deeply concerned and wondering if she had broken her vow. At the same time, Bai Ying had embarked on a solitary journey, climbing a snow-capped mountain. Later, Zhen Lan, using the Water Mirror, directly confronted the mysterious entity within. The deep, sinister voice on the other side invited Zhen Lan to come to Jing Pagoda alone that very night to learn the truth.

Zhen Lan suspected a trap and intended to discuss it with Su Mo. He then told Qing Yuan he had to leave, instructing him not to tell anyone and to ask Bai Ying to go to the Flower God Festival with Lan Xia and Na Sheng if she returned. Back at Na Sheng's, she excitedly showed off her improved underwater skills and some gold she had found. Yan Xi informed her that such treasures were common and worthless in Quanxian.

Zhen Lan arrived, still asking about Bai Ying's whereabouts, which Na Sheng didn't know. Na Sheng playfully accused Zhen Lan and Su Mo of treating her place as a "relay station," coming and going as they pleased. Zhen Lan then shared his suspicions with Yan Xi and Ning Liang, pointing out the inconsistencies in Cangliu's recent victories, the unexpected use of Kongsang techniques by enemies like Master Peng and Yu Huan, and the strange eyes in the Water Mirror.

He believed the mysterious, ancient-sounding person on the other side of the Water Mirror, who knew so much about Kongsang, was hiding behind Cangliu. He concluded that the invitation to Jing Pagoda was undoubtedly a trap.
