Midsummer is full of love Episode 14 Recap
> Midsummer is full of love Recap
Following the discovery of Jin Zeyi and Luo Tianran's contract marriage by Jin Xiaoqin, Jin Zeyi offered Jin Xiaoqin an assistant position at their company, with part of her salary designated to repay Luo Tianran. While Jin Xiaoqin accepted, Yun Shu, who had overheard the truth and harbored feelings for Luo Tianran, began to feel that he had a chance with her. Luo Tianran invited Jin Zeyi to watch a movie at 6:00 p. m.
to express her gratitude for his help. However, Tiffany had already scheduled a crucial meeting for Jin Zeyi with renowned Director Guan Wenjie for a new film that same evening. Jin Zeyi inadvertently forgot about this meeting. Despite numerous unanswered calls from A Tai, Director Guan arrived, leading Tiffany to grow increasingly frustrated with Jin Zeyi.
At the same time, Ling Xiquan, a popular male star and Jin Zeyi’s rival, approached Tiffany, expressing interest in collaboration after learning about Jin Zeyi's opportunity with Director Guan. After Jin Zeyi failed to appear for several hours, Tiffany, in a calculated move, discreetly informed Ling Xiquan of Director Guan's location. She then brought Director Guan to the restaurant under the pretense of dinner, creating a seemingly coincidental encounter between the director and Ling Xiquan.
The next day, Tiffany publicly announced the indefinite suspension of all Jin Zeyi's commercial activities, giving him an extended "holiday." She expressed her disappointment, sternly reminding him that his career was not solely his own. Jin Zeyi defended Luo Tianran, stating that his actions were his own fault, which only further intensified Tiffany’s disapproval of Luo Tianran’s influence. Despite his frustration, Jin Zeyi accepted the consequences.
While alone in the dance studio practicing for a concert of uncertain future, Luo Tianran called him. Jin Zeyi listed several dishes he wanted for dinner, expecting Luo Tianran to prepare them, but she retorted that she would not be cooking and expected him to have dinner ready by the time she arrived home.
Yun Shu, still grappling with the revelation of Luo Tianran and Jin Zeyi's contract marriage, was visibly preoccupied with his thoughts, even during a critical surgery, drawing a concerned remark from his superior. When Luo Tianran offered Yun Shu some balladry records as a thank you for returning her purse, Yun Shu, clearly disturbed, directly confronted her about the contract, stating he already knew their relationship was a temporary deal.
Meanwhile, Tiffany showed visible signs of stress and exhaustion, prompting staff speculation about a major argument between her and Jin Zeyi, possibly related to Ling Xiquan. Ling Xiquan pressed Tiffany for updates on Director Guan's film, but she vaguely presented him with offers from other brands, intentionally sidestepping the director's project, as she clearly did not intend to give him that opportunity.
Later, A Tai approached Jin Zeyi, attempting to warn him about Tiffany's increasing closeness with Ling Xiquan, hinting at rumors that Ling Xiquan might replace Jin Zeyi. However, Jin Zeyi remained indifferent, prompting Tiffany to call A Tai and instruct him to bring Jin Zeyi to her home for a direct conversation. At Tiffany's residence, their simmering cold war erupted into another heated argument over Director Guan’s project.
Jin Zeyi accused Tiffany of allowing personal feelings to compromise her work, believing she had deliberately shifted resources to Ling Xiquan out of hostility towards Luo Tianran and a sense of betrayal. Tiffany vehemently retorted, asserting that Jin Zeyi was the one whose judgment was clouded by personal emotions, pointing out the numerous risks he had taken and rules he had broken because of Luo Tianran.
She urged him to act professionally and not let Luo Tianran continue to impact their work. Regarding Ling Xiquan, Tiffany merely stated that Jin Zeyi would eventually understand the situation. Jin Zeyi remained resentful, convinced that Ling Xiquan was trying to steal his opportunities. Concurrently, Ling Xiquan returned to his own company, only to discover that Tiffany had outmaneuvered him; Director Guan had indeed cast Jin Zeyi as the male lead, leaving Ling Xiquan with only the third male role.
His manager, Mr. Yang, was also aware of Ling Xiquan’s unauthorized attempts to negotiate with Tiffany. Ling Xiquan concocted a story for Mr. Yang, claiming Tiffany had initiated contact and set a trap for him. Mr. Yang, however, saw through Ling Xiquan's deceptive narrative, scolding him for his actions and reminding him of the obviousness of the situation. Still fuming, Ling Xiquan swore to make Tiffany realize that he was not someone to be trifled with.
Jin Zeyi, feeling bored and jobless since his activities were suspended, suggested to Luo Tianran that they go skiing. Luo Tianran excitedly called Jin Xiaoqin, revealing that Jin Zeyi had booked the entire indoor ski center, hoping she would join. However, Jin Xiaoqin, who was at work at Jin Zeyi’s company, declined due to her inability to take leave, much to the excitement of her colleagues who overheard.
Tiffany, overhearing Jin Xiaoqin's excited chatter about Jin Zeyi booking the ski center, was visibly annoyed and sarcastically remarked on his leisurely holiday. She then instructed A Tai to follow them. At the ski center, Luo Tianran was thrilled to find the entire place exclusively reserved. Jin Zeyi attentively helped her adjust her ski pants. Realizing Luo Tianran did not know how to ski, Jin Zeyi began teaching her.
Their lesson quickly turned into a playful tumble as Luo Tianran, trying to slide, ended up pulling Jin Zeyi down with her. They then engaged in a lighthearted snowball fight and slid down slopes like children, thoroughly enjoying themselves, even drawing smiles from A Tai, who watched from a distance. After their energetic play, they relaxed on a bench, chatting.
Luo Tianran, curious, inquired about Jin Zeyi's strained relationship with Yun Shu, playfully guessing that his poor academic performance might have led him to abandon medicine. Jin Zeyi, after a moment of hesitation, revealed a deeply personal history: his father, disapproving of his musical aspirations, had secretly altered his college application to medical school, forcing him to study medicine for a year.
He later dropped out to become a trainee without informing his father, which caused the significant rift between them. Luo Tianran then shared her own childhood memory of her father teaching her to ski, and how he passed away before she could truly learn. She used this story to encourage Jin Zeyi to overcome difficulties for his passions. Inspired, Jin Zeyi helped Luo Tianran conquer her fear and learn to ski.
A Tai, observing their joyful progress, captured photos of Luo Tianran successfully skiing and high-fiving Jin Zeyi, sending them to Tiffany with a reassuring message. However, Tiffany reacted with a sarcastic smile upon seeing the pictures. She immediately contacted Mr. Tan, the ski center owner, offering him a "small gift" of publicity.
The next day, social media was abuzz with photos of Jin Zeyi and Luo Tianran at the ski center, alongside promotional captions, making the venue a popular spot for couples. Upon seeing this, Luo Tianran angrily confronted Jin Zeyi, accusing him of exploiting their relationship for publicity and using her as a marketing tool, rather than genuinely taking her out for fun. Jin Zeyi, genuinely bewildered, tried to clarify, but his calls to Tiffany went unanswered.
He rushed to the company, where he inadvertently overheard Mr. Shi, a senior figure, severely reprimanding Tiffany. Mr. Shi was furious about rumors of Tiffany's close ties with Ling Xiquan, questioning her professional ethics and suitability as an agent. He even suggested she quit managing and pursue an acting career, given her looks and apparent enjoyment of interacting with male artists. After enduring the harsh criticism, Tiffany spoke to Jin Zeyi privately.
She apologized for any impropriety, explaining that the ski center promotion was a way to repay Mr. Tan, who had once provided a venue for free for Jin Zeyi's debut album signing when a planned location fell through. She admitted that her actions regarding Ling Xiquan were misguided attempts to pressure Jin Zeyi and create a sense of urgency.
In reality, Tiffany had been actively working to secure his role as the male lead in Director Guan's new film, and his commercial activities had been suspended precisely so he could focus on preparing for the role, unbeknownst to him. Tiffany expressed her regret and hoped that the rampant rumors about her favoring Ling Xiquan and transferring Jin Zeyi's resources would not destroy the years of trust they had built. Jin Zeyi, understanding her intentions, chose to trust her again. Subsequently, Tiffany reinstated all of Jin Zeyi's previously suspended commercial activities and concerts.
