Master Devil Do Not Kiss Me Episode 18 Recap
> Master Devil Do Not Kiss Me Recap
Following her recent bet with Mr. Ma to prove Class B's academic capability by achieving first place in the national mathematics competition, An Chuxia confidently attempts to rally Class B for the upcoming battle, emphasizing the honor of their class and the limited time remaining. However, the students express deep pessimism, citing their low academic level and stating they never agreed to a bet with Mr. Ma.
Despite An Chuxia's persistent encouragement for them to believe in themselves, they openly admit to having no confidence. Disheartened by her classmates' apathy, An Chuxia walks home with Meng Xiaonan. Meng Xiaonan notes Han Qilu didn't pick her up, learning that Han Qilu was sent to an astronomical exhibition and An Chuxia declined a ride from Han Qilu's mother. As they lament An Chuxia's classmates, Feng Shao, on his way to play computer games, spots them.
Meng Xiaonan insists they join him, hoping to lift An Chuxia's spirits. Feng Shao advises An Chuxia to sometimes use force, suggesting persuasion followed by physical action if necessary. While at the arcade, Meng Xiaonan becomes captivated watching Jiang Chenchuan dance, losing track of her phone when a thief snatches it. Jiang Chenchuan quickly pursues and retrieves the phone. However, An Chuxia, arriving late, mistakenly assumes Jiang Chenchuan is the thief and kicks him.
She then offers to rub his leg and introduces herself as An Chuxia from Stiland College Class B. Jiang Chenchuan, annoyed, points out he was helping and calls her "fat leg," which further incenses An Chuxia. Meng Xiaonan, upon returning, expresses admiration for Jiang Chenchuan, stating her heart has gone with the man from the game hall. Soon after, Jiang Chenchuan transfers to Class B, a surprising move given his ability to join Class A.
An Chuxia immediately implements strict new rules, declaring that only academic matters will be tolerated in class. She begins reviewing exam papers, announcing that any student who fails to understand the material after her explanation and subsequently performs poorly on a retest will be required to run five laps for each incorrect answer. The students are horrified by this rigid approach. Jiang Chenchuan, finding her methods excessive, dismisses her efforts as a waste, claiming the students are incapable of improvement.
An Chuxia retorts that if he chooses to be at the bottom, she can only look down on him. Challenging her authority, Jiang Chenchuan reminds her of her previous kick at the arcade. An Chuxia interrupts his threat, stating that they are discussing culture, not using fists. He then presents a challenge, pointing to the two thick extracurricular books he brought—"Investiture of the Gods" and "A Short History of America."
He proposes that if An Chuxia can finish both books in a single day, he and the other students will believe in her and commit to studying hard. An Chuxia accepts the wager, confident she can succeed. Later that night, Han Qilu passes An Chuxia's room and is perplexed to find her simultaneously reading "A Short History of America" and listening to an audio version of "Investiture of the Gods." He questions her methods, implying she might be "schizophrenic."
An Chuxia, focused on her bet, asks him to leave, explaining that failure would mean she couldn't motivate Class B to study, preventing them from achieving first place and leading to her expulsion by Mr. Ma. Han Qilu simply states, "That's what you wish, right?" before departing. The next day, An Chuxia confidently declares she has finished both books. The students begin to test her knowledge.
She accurately answers detailed questions from "A Short History of America," including the dates of the USA War of Independence, Independence Day, and a comprehensive explanation of the Boston Tea Party. She also flawlessly answers questions from "Investiture of the Gods," such as the adoption of Lei Zhen Zi, a poem referencing Jiang Zi Ya, and Nezha's appearance on Cuiping Mountain.
When asked how she managed it, An Chuxia explains her unique method of listening to one book while reading another. Impressed, her classmates express newfound respect, vowing to look up to her. An Chuxia responds that she only hopes they will uphold their agreement and work hard together to fight for their dignity, prompting them to enthusiastically chant, "Go for it!"
Later, some students are seen in a courtyard, comically praying to the "God of Exam" for help with their studies, admitting they can't answer the questions. An Chuxia observes them and sternly tells them that no fairy can help them if they don't study hard, ordering them back to the classroom.
