Meanwhile, Han Qilu, carrying a peculiar, traditionally styled "blessing and long life" garment that An Chuxia had given him, came looking for her.
He found Mo Xinwei watching An Chuxia run, expressing her malicious delight. When Han Qilu asked about An Chuxia’s whereabouts, Mo Xinwei initially lied, claiming she was in the library. Han Qilu quickly realized her lie, noting the library was closed, and then headed to the field with Ling Hanyu. Upon arriving, Han Qilu and Ling Hanyu witnessed Mo Xinwei taunting An Chuxia, asking if she was "race walking" and suggesting more laps.
Despite Han Qilu's pleas for An Chuxia to stop running, warning she would collapse, An Chuxia stubbornly insisted on finishing her last laps to avoid defeat. Later, Ling Hanyu visited, ostensibly to have a doctor check the house for renovations, a thinly veiled excuse.

Ling Hanyu then confronted Han Qilu, directly accusing him of liking An Chuxia despite his pretense of not caring.
