Hello, My Shining Lover Episode 7 Recap
> Hello, My Shining Lover Recap
Du Guruonan arrived at Wing Fashion with snacks, only to overhear female models gossiping and ridiculing Si Da, calling him a "mentally unstable male model" and questioning Ji Mo's decision to work with him. Angered, Du Guruonan threw away her snacks and confronted Ji Mo, accusing him of making Si Da a "laughingstock."
Si Da quickly intervened, clarifying that Ji Mo was helping him "overcome my mental blocks" and "face my true self," and promised Du Guruonan he "won't let you down" and would "stand in the center of the stage." Du Guruonan noted that Si Da's "skin has thickened" from the experience, but still urged him not to disappoint himself. Du Guruonan then took Si Da to visit Song Zihao in the hospital.
Si Da was surprised by her regular visits, having heard rumors that she and Zihao didn't get along and that she was a "devil manager." Du Guruonan explained that Zihao was like a younger brother to her, and she didn't bother explaining rumors because "people only want to hear what they want to hear; the truth doesn't matter to them." She spoke to the unconscious Zihao, telling him not to skip work.
She introduced Si Da to him as his junior, and Si Da asked if Du Guruonan used to pat Zihao's head. She confirmed it, reminiscing about their closer relationship before conflicts arose. Si Da then pledged to care for and protect Du Guruonan in Zihao's place. Du Guruonan advised Si Da that success in the industry isn't about how high one climbs, but about whether one can withstand the fame and "extravagant praises."
She emphasized the importance of maintaining his "purity and genuineness." Si Da promised to remember. Du Guruonan expressed her belief that Zihao would wake up, as he "refuses to be forgotten by others" and "was born to live under the spotlight." Perhaps prompted by Du Guruonan's words, not long after she left, Song Zihao gradually began to regain consciousness.
Si Da, touched by her kindness, called her "too kind-hearted," but she quickly dismissed his praise, telling him to run back and make up for his missed training. As he ran off, Si Da exclaimed that there was truly an "angel in my heart." Later, back at home, Du Guruonan found Ji Mo. She admitted she had misjudged his intentions in helping Si Da, but Ji Mo responded that he didn't seek her understanding.
He then revealed that he now had confidence in Si Da because he had found "someone he likes," which Ji Mo had previously feared Si Da lacked due to his resistance to women. Du Guruonan was surprised, asking who it was and why Si Da hadn't told her. Ji Mo elaborated that artistic creation comes from inspiration, and an artist's inspiration often stems from emotions and experiences.
Without interacting with women, Si Da couldn't learn to express or communicate, which was Ji Mo's initial concern. Ji Mo also pointed out that while Du Guruonan wished to protect Si Da's innocence, one could only truly grow by experiencing complexity. Suddenly, the power went out, plunging the room into darkness. Du Guruonan grew visibly nervous. She was about to get up and grope her way back to her room, but Ji Mo directly pulled her onto the sofa.
Ji Mo teased her, pointing out her dilated pupils, flaring nostrils, tense facial muscles, and uneven breathing. When the lights flickered back on, they found themselves staring at each other from very close proximity. Du Guruonan's heart pounded, and she hastily retreated to her room, unable to calm her racing pulse. Unaware that Si Da's affections were directed towards her, Du Guruonan later questioned Si Da about his romantic interests, referencing Ji Mo's comments.
Si Da admitted it was an "unrequited love," as the girl was unaware of his feelings and wouldn't like him. Du Guruonan, while supportive of his "one-sided crush" for emotional development, forbade him from dating to avoid rumors, emphasizing his "bright future" under her management. She urged him to work hard for the girl he liked and warned him not to "mess this up" at the upcoming Wing Fashion new talent show, stressing it was his first step.
At the show audition, Si Da was visibly nervous but delivered a strong performance. Chen Fei'er assured Ji Mo that she would fully prepare Si Da for the main show. Ji Mo acknowledged Si Da's significant improvement, noting he no longer fainted. Later, Ji Mo received a wedding invitation for Du Guruonan, sent by her ex-boyfriend, Lin Huan, and opened it on her behalf.
Du Guruonan, when informed, was dismissive, stating she would only be curious if it announced his death. Ji Mo commented that "no one is born to be heartless" and asked if she wanted him to open it, suggesting there might be "misunderstandings." Du Guruonan retorted that he hadn't experienced "being abandoned or the pain of being betrayed."
She then asked him to open it for her, specifying that if it was an apology, he shouldn't tell her, as she detested "hypocritical apologies." Ji Mo revealed it was a wedding invitation. That night, both Du Guruonan and Ji Mo were restless. Du Guruonan replayed Lin Huan's betrayal, while Ji Mo, prompted by the wedding invitation, recalled his own past with Su Xiao, who had once desired a family but rejected his proposal.
A flashback then depicted Lin Huan's cruel breakup with Du Guruonan. He scorned her years of devotion, claiming their relationship was one of "mutual utilization," and asserted that she had benefited by becoming a "top-tier agent," leaving Du Guruonan heartbroken. The following day, in the training room, Tong Tong publicly slandered Du Guruonan, calling her "cold-blooded and ruthless" for supposedly shelving Lin Huan and implying she was a "devil manager" who had driven him to ruin.
She maliciously recounted how Du Guruonan had once been beaten after "cooking the books" and that Du Guruonan had paid her debt, making her an agent. Si Da vehemently defended Du Guruonan, citing her compassionate care for Song Zihao and himself. Chen Fei'er interrupted, rebuking Tong Tong for her lack of conscience and pulling Si Da away to discuss Du Guruonan's situation. Chen Fei'er then revealed Du Guruonan's past to Si Da, with Ji Mo overhearing from the doorway.
Lin Huan was Du Guruonan's first love and first artist. She had "humbled herself to the dust" for him, secretly supporting him for years, tirelessly promoting him to various film crews and production companies when his career stagnated. Once he achieved fame, he "started two-timing" and abandoned her in the cruelest way. He then shamelessly tried to use the new relationship for publicity with another actress, but it backfired, causing his popularity to plummet and his career to disappear.
The public, unaware of the true story, believed Du Guruonan, out of revenge, had "shelved" Lin Huan, earning her the derogatory title of "devil manager." Du Guruonan never defended herself, silently enduring the humiliation. Chen Fei'er explained that such deep emotional wounds heal on the surface, but the "pain never truly fades," instead forming "a thick armor" around the heart, causing Du Guruonan to lose faith in love.
Later, Chen Fei'er spoke directly with Du Guruonan, who revealed her newfound acceptance regarding Lin Huan's wedding invitation. She explained that receiving it had brought a sense of closure, signifying "this matter has finally ended." She now viewed Lin Huan as merely a "passerby" in her life, cherishing the past happy memories and appreciating how the pain he caused had helped her "grow" into the person she is today, a person she "quite likes."
Ji Mo, having continued to overhear from the doorway, felt relieved and his perception of Du Guruonan's strength grew. Du Guruonan then asked Chen Fei'er to tear up the invitation for her. On the day of the big show, Si Da was noticeably tense with Ji Mo, still upset about Ji Mo having hugged Du Guruonan. This interaction made Ji Mo realize the depth of Si Da's feelings for Du Guruonan.
During the show, an unexpected stage accident created a one-minute gap in the model lineup. Ji Mo quickly decided that Si Da must fill this time with a solo walk before his planned appearance with Chen Fei'er. Si Da was terrified, fearing he would "mess up." Ji Mo encouraged him, telling him to focus only on Du Guruonan, the person he cared about most in the audience, and to project his most confident and dazzling self just for her.
Si Da, inspired, performed magnificently, becoming the unexpected highlight of the show and attracting significant media attention as the sole male model. After the show, as Si Da was about to address the reporters, Du Guruonan accidentally fell due to the crowd's pushing. Without hesitation, Si Da scooped her up and carried her away from the media frenzy, declaring that he only cared about her.
Later, at a spicy hot pot restaurant, Du Guruonan was visibly upset, eating intensely spicy food and crying. She felt utterly humiliated by her fall at the show, lamenting the loss of her composure in front of all the media, and fearing that unflattering photos would be published. Si Da tenderly reassured her, insisting she was beautiful and not pathetic in his eyes. Du Guruonan then expressed remorse, feeling her accident had caused Si Da to miss out on interviews.
Si Da, however, dismissed her concerns, crediting her entirely for his career, his opportunity to walk such a prestigious runway, and even his ability to dream. He firmly told her never to utter such self-deprecating words again.
