Tang Shunming made a determined effort to hire Tonghao as a consultant for Guanmei Hotel, encountering significant resistance from Chen Jinzhi. She vehemently opposed Tang Shunming's attempt to recruit Tonghao, whom she considered her staff and was helping her with Money Bag Grocery. Ye Qianyu intervened, proposing that Tang Shunming pay Tonghao's salary directly to Chen Jinzhi. Chen Jinzhi agreed to this arrangement but insisted on receiving a month's salary in advance, a condition Tang Shunming reluctantly accepted.
With the agreement in place, Tonghao began his consultancy at Guanmei Hotel, immediately initiating a comprehensive renovation. He directed the staff on proper bed-making techniques, had the second-floor restaurant rearranged with new tablecloths, and introduced a revised menu for guests. Observing these changes, Taichu, who also offered assistance, was impressed by Tonghao's natural talent for hotel management. He asked Ye Qianyu about Tonghao's past, and she inadvertently revealed that Tonghao had amnesia.
Taichu then concluded that Tonghao, capable of pinpointing the hotel's issues so accurately, was no ordinary individual. During this period, Su Liyin also joined as the new receptionist, while Ye Qianyu took on the role of company publicity. They all worked together, with Tang Shunming expressing determination to make Guanmei Inn the best homestay in the village, which Su Liyin then escalated to the best in the country. Everyone subsequently cheered in agreement.
Meanwhile, Shan Yaolong, critically ill, entrusted his family's company, Senwell, to Xu Ziqian. He attempted to tell Xu Ziqian something important, but his condition rapidly deteriorated, and he passed away before he could speak his mind. Though Tonghao, unknowingly Shan Junhao, could not recall his past, he felt a profound, inexplicable sadness, as if he had lost something vital, a deep, telepathic sorrow for his father's passing.
Ye Qianyu tried to comfort him, but the thought of his eventual departure if his memory returned brought her distress. Tonghao, leaning on her shoulder, reassured her of his happiness at Guanmei, telling her that in his world, she was the only person he remembered and considered family.
Following Shan Yaolong's death, and with Shan Junhao still missing (having not even attended his father's funeral), Senwell's board of directors pressed Mrs. Shan (Jiang Caiyue) to sign a general manager proxy agreement to elect a new leader. Despite now holding all of Shan Yaolong's shares, Mrs. Shan stated her lack of interest in company leadership, having been a housewife for over two decades.
She emphasized the critical interconnectedness of the Shan family and Senwell, urging the board to act cohesively to prevent further instability caused by rumors of Junhao's disappearance. Seizing the opportunity, Zhang Minghan was elected as the new General Manager. However, Mrs. Shan, not fully trusting Zhang Minghan, appointed Xu Ziqian as the interim chairman to balance his power. Zhang Minghan immediately ordered the engineering department to commence the Guanmei project the following day.
He dismissed Xu Ziqian’s interim chairman position as largely ceremonial, a "paper tiger" without actual shareholding power. He also attempted to undermine Xu Ziqian's loyalty to the Shan family by suggesting Xu's own father would never have willingly transferred all his shares without some underlying issue. Xu Ziqian, however, dismissed these attempts to sow discord, reaffirming his trust in the Shan family and his father's belief in friendship and freedom over mere profit.
Back at Guanmei, the renovated Guanmei Inn flourished, achieving record-high revenues and receiving accolades from tour guides. During a celebratory dinner, Su Liyin offered to send Tonghao data via WeChat and Taichu data via email, prompting a moment of jealousy from Ye Qianyu regarding Tonghao. Tang Shunming then asked Tonghao if he would continue to support Guanmei Inn should his memories return.
Tonghao affirmed he would, vowing to protect the place for the sake of the people he cared about, implicitly referring to Ye Qianyu. Ye Qianyu's affection for Tonghao was evident as she dotingly served him food throughout the meal. Tang Shunming, wrestling with the decision of whether to inform Senwell about Shan Junhao’s presence in Guanmei Fishing Village, ultimately decided against it, fearing that Junhao's return would lead to the immediate demolition of Guanmei Inn.
His fears were soon realized as Zhang Minghan, without waiting for Junhao, led a construction crew and a large sum of cash to the village. Zhang Minghan offered villagers three times the standard compensation for their properties, along with preferential rights to purchase future Senwell residences, if they signed the contracts on the spot. Police officer Li Donglu was among the first to sign, enticed by the substantial financial offer.
Desperate, Tang Shunming telephoned Xu Ziqian for help, revealing that Zhang Minghan was already initiating demolition. Xu Ziqian and Fan Yunyi rushed to the scene. Meanwhile, both Tonghao and Taichu independently conceived a plan to save Guanmei: leveraging the rare Chinese white dolphins known to inhabit the area. They quickly gathered diving suits and headed to the "heavenly pit," the site of their previous dolphin encounter, accompanied by Ye Qianyu.
At the village square, Mama Jinzhi attempted to buy time by appealing to the villagers' sense of heritage, reminding them that they were selling not just houses but generations of family heritage. She also feigned a heart condition to obstruct the process. A chaotic scuffle ensued as Tang Shunming, desperate to prevent the sales, grabbed all the contracts, refusing to hand them over. Meanwhile, Mama Jinzhi telephoned Ye Qianyu, urgently informing her that Tang Shunming was being surrounded.
