Mama Jinzhi questioned Qianyu about her night in the Devil Forest with Tonghao, asking if anything special had happened between them as an isolated man and woman in the wilderness. Qianyu quickly denied it, saying her mother was overthinking things. Mama Jinzhi then warned Qianyu to keep her distance from Tonghao, urging her to seize the rare opportunity to be with Taichu, a rich man in Guanmei Fishing Village.
Meanwhile, Tonghao had ingeniously crafted a walking aid for Qianyu from Mama Jinzhi's old bedsheet and a shop umbrella. When Mama Jinzhi discovered her bedsheet, which had been with her for nine years, ten months, and three days, had been cut, and a new umbrella taken, she was furious. She accused Tonghao of being destructive, wasting resources, trying to win Qianyu's affection, and calling him a "wolf" for entering their home. Qianyu, however, defended Tonghao, saying he had good intentions.
Just then, Taichu arrived with a new wheelchair for Qianyu, announcing he wanted her to be his guide. Mama Jinzhi excitedly pushed Qianyu towards Taichu, praising his thoughtfulness. Ye Shengzhe, witnessing the scene, sympathetically told Tonghao he had no chance with Qianyu. Later, as Qianyu was with Taichu, she seemed distracted. Taichu noticed her mood, but Qianyu simply replied that she was bored from being cooped up indoors and felt almost suffocated.
Tonghao then appeared, having sculpted a white dolphin in the sand, identical to the one they had seen in the Devil Forest's heavenly pit. Qianyu was delighted, sharing the legend of the white dolphin with Taichu. Taichu then asked if Qianyu could take him to the pit after her foot healed, prompting Tonghao to subtly suggest Qianyu accompany him instead.
Back at the Shan household, Shan Chairman's wife, Jiang Yi, worried about the upcoming board meeting to re-elect the general manager, as Shan Chairman was too ill to attend. Xu Ziqian reassured her that he and Fan Yunyi would find a solution. At the board meeting, Zhang Minghan criticized Shan Junhao's unexplained disappearance and lack of communication, deeming his behavior irresponsible. Other shareholders voiced concerns about Senwell's falling stock price and the need for a leader.
A shareholder proposed Zhang Minghan, the second-largest shareholder, as the interim general manager, citing his diligence and competence. Most shareholders agreed to this proposal. Just as Zhang Minghan seemed poised for victory, Xu Ziqian and Fan Yunyi entered, with Xu Ziqian declaring his disagreement. Zhang Minghan attempted to dismiss them, stating they were not qualified to attend.
However, Xu Ziqian presented a Power of Attorney from Chairman Shan, authorizing him to represent the chairman and express opinions on all decisions made at the meeting. Xu Ziqian explained that Shan Junhao was on an urgent, secret overseas mission and would return soon, urging the board to maintain confidence in him given his successful track record. He also announced that Chairman Shan would personally oversee Shan Junhao's responsibilities during this period.
Zhang Minghan challenged this, questioning how the seriously ill Chairman Shan could manage such heavy duties. Xu Ziqian countered that the chairman was recovering and would soon be back to lead. Later, Xu Ziqian reported back to Chairman Shan and Mrs. Shan that he had successfully thwarted Zhang Minghan's scheme. Shan Chairman, looking frail, expressed his deep concern to Xu Ziqian. He mentioned Junhao's disappearance and the rumors spreading in the company, lamenting his own failing health.
He then pleaded with Xu Ziqian to help him navigate this crisis, ending with a puzzling "I'm sorry." Xu Ziqian and Fan Yunyi were confused by the apology, attributing it to Shan Chairman feeling he hadn't cared for Xu Ziqian well enough after his parents' death, as the Shan family had adopted him. Meanwhile, Li Donglu gave Chen Jinzhi a flyer for job opportunities in Indonesia, suggesting she distribute them in her convenience store for a small fee.
Mama Jinzhi, despite initial reluctance, agreed to the deal. Upon seeing the flyer, Mama Jinzhi pressured Tonghao to take the job, highlighting the attractive salary and his substantial debt to their family. Qianyu was shocked, expressing concerns about Tonghao's memory loss and his ability to work in a foreign country where he didn't speak the language. Despite his reluctance, Tonghao agreed to go, feeling he had no other option to repay his debt.
Mama Jinzhi continued to tell Qianyu to maintain her distance from Tonghao, reiterating that Taichu was the superior choice. Qianyu spoke privately with Tonghao, who admitted he didn't want to leave but felt unjustified in staying. She reassured him that he could return at any time if he found the new environment unsuitable. Tonghao then expressed his heartfelt gratitude, saying that in his memory, their home was his only home and they were his family.
He promised to earn a lot of money for them. Before he left, Qianyu gave Tonghao her cherished frog toy, which Shengzhe had mentioned she held dear. Tonghao, however, left the frog behind, telling Shengzhe that Qianyu probably needed it more than he did. Shortly after Tonghao departed, Qianyu saw a news report revealing that the Indonesian recruitment was a scam to traffic illegal laborers, who would lose their freedom once abroad.
Panicked, she rushed to the pier, abandoning her phone. She found Tonghao already on a boat, which was about to set sail. She desperately yelled, trying to warn him about the fraud, but the sound of the waves and the distance made it impossible for him to hear her clearly. Seeing her distress, Tonghao, without hesitation, jumped into the sea, forgetting that he couldn't swim. Qianyu, worried about Tonghao drowning, immediately plunged into the water to save him.
She pulled him ashore and performed CPR, bringing him back to consciousness. Qianyu scolded him for jumping into the water when he couldn't swim. Tonghao explained that he thought she had an emergency and the boat wouldn't turn back. He then realized the truth of the scam, noting the absence of life vests on the boat. Qianyu lamented her bad luck whenever she met him, reminding him that she had lost her first kiss saving him before.
Tonghao playfully corrected her, explaining the difference between CPR and a kiss, then sealed the lesson with a kiss. Qianyu called him a rascal and a swindler, regretting that he hadn't been taken away by the traffickers. Tonghao, however, declared that he no longer wanted to leave and wished to be with her forever. Back home, Shengzhe gave Tonghao a special "invitation" to sleep in his room. Tonghao thanked him.
Mama Jinzhi, now aware of the scam, felt guilty and apologized to Tonghao, offering him a large plate of meat. Tonghao accepted her apology and expressed his deep gratitude for being taken in, emphasizing the sense of familiarity and warmth he felt, especially since he knew no one else and didn't even remember who he was. He asked if he could stay, promising to work hard, offering to handle all future deliveries and takeaways. Shengzhe immediately supported Tonghao staying.
Qianyu, when asked by Mama Jinzhi if she was staring at Tonghao, denied it. Mama Jinzhi initially reiterated her desire for Tonghao to leave but then reconsidered, thinking he could serve as free labor. Meanwhile, at Senwell, Zhang Minghan continued to challenge Xu Ziqian, demanding that Shan Junhao communicate with the board, even if it was just a call or an email.
Xu Ziqian stood firm, reiterating that Chairman Shan was recovering and that the priority was to push forward with projects like the Guanmei development. Zhang Minghan pressed further, highlighting the delay in the Guanmei project and the potential withdrawal of GQ Ventures, which would jeopardize the entire project. In response, Xu Ziqian promised to personally go to Guanmei the next day to sign the contract for the Guanmei Hotel.
