Taichu expressed his gratitude to Tonghao for helping them, and Tonghao modestly replied it was nothing. He explained that Mama Jinzhi had mentioned Dolphin Island was dangerous, so he had looked at the travel guide Ye Qianyu and Taichu prepared and followed their route. He then cautioned Taichu not to take Qianyu to such perilous places again. Qianyu, annoyed by Tonghao's interference, told him to mind his own business and focus on eating.
During dinner, Mama Jinzhi was notably attentive to Taichu. Tonghao remarked that Dolphin Island was an interesting place, not as scary as legends suggested, but he found it regrettable that Senwell planned to turn it into a resort. Taichu agreed that accepting change with a more open mind was important, a sentiment Mama Jinzhi eagerly echoed, stating that the money Senwell offered was substantial and that home was wherever one had money.
Qianyu, however, vehemently disagreed, calling Senwell a "shameless company" whose boss had a "black heart." Mama Jinzhi then pointed out Tonghao's large appetite, noting it was his third bowl while Taichu was still on his first, subtly expressing her irritation at having to feed him. After dinner, as Chen Jinzhi and Ye Qianyu debated whose turn it was to wash dishes, Tonghao quietly volunteered.
Chen Jinzhi, in a private conversation with Qianyu, revealed her true intention for sending Tonghao to find them on Dolphin Island: she had hoped he would get lost, allowing them to easily get rid of him. Qianyu, however, argued that abandoning Tonghao after causing his amnesia would be too cruel and suggested keeping him as a free worker. Shengzhe supported the idea, wanting Tonghao to teach him Rubik's Cube.
Chen Jinzhi remained unconvinced, worrying about the car accident coming to light and stating she couldn't afford to keep him. She later went to the kitchen and was dismayed to find Tonghao using half a bottle of dish soap and leaving the faucet running, confirming her belief that he was wasteful and a nuisance. Meanwhile, at Senwell, Xu Ziqian and Fan Yunyi were struggling to manage the pressure from Zhang Minghan regarding Shan Junhao's disappearance.
Xu Ziqian updated Zhang Minghan on the Guanmei Fishing Village project, mentioning a positive meeting with GQ Ventures and attempts to contact "Flying Blade," the representative from the International Travel Association. Zhang Minghan, however, questioned Xu Ziqian's authority, implying that a director's position was "not a match" for high-level negotiations and that Chairman Shan, who was in intensive care, couldn't possibly be giving instructions.
Fan Yunyi strongly supported Xu Ziqian, stating that Chairman Shan had personally authorized him to handle the matter, given their close relationship. Xu Ziqian then added that his father's health was improving. Unconvinced, Zhang Minghan accused them of hiding something, stating his patience would run out as "truth will come to light sooner or later."
He then announced a board meeting for Monday to decide on the General Manager's position, explicitly stating that neither Xu Ziqian nor Fan Yunyi, due to their job titles, were eligible to attend. Afterward, Xu Ziqian suggested Fan Yunyi take a few days off, but she firmly refused, insisting she had no right to rest and must complete all the projects Shan Junhao had left behind.
Later, Xu Ziqian visited Shan Junhao's mother, bringing sleeping lamps, and she expressed concern over his busy schedule, asking him to stay the night. He agreed to stay after ensuring she was settled. Tonghao noticed the ring on Qianyu's hand, finding it strangely familiar. Qianyu, fearing he might regain his memory, quickly lied, claiming the ring was hers and that he, in his past, had been a bad person who tried to snatch it from her.
She added that he used to lie and openly steal, implying she was being kind by harboring him. Believing her, Tonghao felt remorse for his supposed past actions and expressed gratitude for her generosity. Wanting to share her workload to ease her burden, he offered to help with deliveries in the future and asked if she could take him to places he might have been, hoping it would trigger his memory. Qianyu agreed, playfully noting that her time was precious.
Tonghao then capably drove the delivery van, displaying a natural talent for it. As they drove, they unknowingly passed Xu Ziqian and Fan Yunyi's car, though neither party recognized the other. They arrived at Devil Forest to deliver goods to Granny Huazi. Granny Huazi, upon meeting Tonghao and learning Qianyu "found him by the road," remarked that Qianyu had "found a treasure" and that Tonghao seemed like a "clever kid," despite Qianyu mentioning his amnesia.
Qianyu then asked Granny Huazi for a fortune-telling. Granny told her that she had recently met "the one" in her destiny, but warned of a "rocky" path ahead. Qianyu, thinking of Taichu, was delighted. Granny then asked Tonghao if he was happy with his new life, free from past memories. Tonghao confidently affirmed his happiness.
Granny Huazi suggested that his memory loss might be a divine opportunity for him to pause, listen to the world, experience emotions, and truly understand himself—a rare and fortunate chance. On their way back, Tonghao hesitantly asked Qianyu if she liked Taichu. Qianyu responded that Taichu was a good person who met all of Mama Jinzhi's criteria for a son-in-law, and since Granny Huazi also said he was her destined one, there was no reason not to like him.
Tonghao quietly mumbled that Granny Huazi's prophecy might not necessarily refer to Taichu. Qianyu quickly cut him off, telling him not to overthink it, as if it wasn't Taichu, it certainly wouldn't be him. As they argued, they accidentally fell into a deep pit. Qianyu twisted her ankle, and her phone had no signal.
Panicked, she cried, fearing they would become "mummies" before anyone found them, worrying about Shengzhe and Mama Jinzhi, and lamenting all the life experiences she hadn't had. Tonghao embraced her to comfort her. Qianyu, startled, pushed him away, accusing him of taking advantage of her vulnerability and boasting about her "strong arms" that could "punch his teeth out." Tonghao playfully retorted that there was "no advantage to take," and their light-hearted banter helped ease Qianyu's fear.
As night fell, Mama Jinzhi was at home, worried sick, repeatedly trying to call Qianyu. In the pit, Tonghao told Qianyu a story about a frog that gave up too soon on digging a well, emphasizing that despair could turn into hope if one persisted. Later, he pointed out the constellations, identifying Taurus.
When Qianyu asked his star sign, he admitted he didn't know, but then declared that he could "rewrite his life" and choose his own birthday, star sign, friends, and family. He then told Qianyu that she was the first person he met after losing his memory, making her his friend, his family, and the most important person to him, promising to protect her. He took off his jacket to keep her warm.
The next morning, Tonghao discovered an exit from the pit. They navigated through a cave and emerged by the sea, where they were thrilled to spot white dolphins. Meanwhile, at home, Shengzhe and Taichu set out in a car to search for Qianyu and Tonghao in Devil Forest. Eventually, Taichu and Shengzhe located them and helped them climb out of the pit. Back at home, Mama Jinzhi prepared her famous handmade noodles, generously serving Taichu but attempting to exclude Tonghao.
Qianyu intervened, reminding her that Tonghao had saved her. Taichu, curious, asked Tonghao about his background and where he was from. Mama Jinzhi and Qianyu quickly concocted a story, explaining that Tonghao was Qianyu's distant cousin, working for them to pay off a debt, and emphasizing that they had no "intimate relations," which Taichu accepted.
