Forget You Remember Love Episode 3 Recap
> Forget You Remember Love Recap
The episode begins as Taichu, who plays the piano, arrives to return a cup to Ye Qianyu. Chen Jinzhi, stopping him, notices his nice car, learns he is 26 and unmarried, and immediately tries to set him up with Qianyu, describing her as the "beauty of the village" who can be "genteel and tough." Qianyu returns, recognizing Taichu, who quickly returns the cup and excuses himself, declining her offer to guide him around.
Qianyu, annoyed, tells Chen Jinzhi that her eagerness likely scared him off, but Chen Jinzhi insists she shouldn't let rich men slip by. Meanwhile, Xu Ziqian is at home preparing food for his dog, Daisy, whose photo with him, Shan Junhao, and Fan Yunyi adorns his living room. At the office, Ziqian congratulates Shan Junhao and Fan Yunyi on their engagement. Junhao jokes that Ziqian already lives a married life, attending to Daisy like a wife.
When Yunyi suggests they go together for the suit and gown fitting, Junhao apologizes, explaining he has to go to Guanmei Fishing Village and asks Ziqian to go in his stead. Ziqian initially resists, jokingly asking if Junhao expects him to even get married for him, but Junhao insists it’s just for the suit fitting. Ziqian eventually agrees, making sure to tell the tailor that Shan Junhao's suit must not contain wool, as he is allergic.
Back in Guanmei Fishing Village, Ye Qianyu is distraught to see her mother's piano being moved from Su Liyin’s store. She loudly protests, confronting Su Liyin, who explains that the customer has already paid in full. Qianyu desperately offers her entire savings of 4,200 yuan, begging Su Liyin to keep the piano and promising to pay the rest in three days.
Su Liyin refuses, stating she would have to pay double the earnest money for breach of contract, which would significantly increase the amount needed. Qianyu lies on the piano, refusing to let it be taken. Officer Uncle Li arrives, tries to mediate, and calls Chen Jinzhi. Qianyu's brother, Shengzhe, also contributes his savings to Su Liyin, despite claiming to dislike Qianyu.
Chen Jinzhi arrives and adds her own money, but it is still far from enough to cover the piano and the penalty fee. Qianyu tearfully pleads, saying it is her deceased mother's only memento. Su Liyin, pressed for time by her client, eventually instructs the movers to take the piano, despite Qianyu's desperate struggle. As the piano is carried away, Qianyu blames Su Liyin for preventing her from buying it back earlier.
Chen Jinzhi tries to comfort a heartbroken Qianyu, promising they will buy it back someday and offering to cook her favorite braised pork. Shan Junhao, on his way to Guanmei Fishing Village, is informed by Dawei that the International Travel Association representative is Taichu, a travel blogger with over ten million followers whose Weibo name is "Flying Blade," but his identity cannot be confirmed without frontal photos. Junhao instructs Dawei to monitor the village's inbound and outbound activities.
Stuck in traffic, Junhao witnesses Qianyu's distress and tears as her piano is taken, recalling her previous comment about almost buying the piano if she hadn't rescued him. Later, as Chen Jinzhi consoles a still-sad Qianyu, Su Liyin unexpectedly returns with the piano. She tells them someone contacted her after Qianyu left and paid double the price to have the piano delivered to Qianyu.
Qianyu is overjoyed and, not knowing who else would be so generous, immediately assumes Taichu is her mysterious benefactor, referring to him as "the cabriolet guy." She is thrilled that the piano is finally hers. With renewed hope, and encouraged by Chen Jinzhi and Shengzhe, Qianyu puts on a new dress and takes Chen Jinzhi's homemade cookies to Guanmei Hotel to pursue Taichu. To her dismay, she discovers Su Liyin is already there, attempting to flirt with him.
Taichu, a self-proclaimed "straight man," politely declines Su Liyin's cookies, stating he dislikes sweets, and remains focused on his photography, ignoring her. Su Liyin then feigns a sprained ankle for attention, but Qianyu arrives and exposes her lie by loudly proclaiming that Su Liyin's house is on fire, causing her to jump up and run off, perfectly fine. Qianyu then tries to approach Taichu, but he asks if she is also bringing him cookies.
She denies it, claiming to be there to thank him. However, Taichu tells her he no longer needs a guide, as he has already arranged for someone else. Disappointed, Qianyu returns home, telling Chen Jinzhi that Taichu is "hard to handle" as many people are already vying for his attention with gifts. She realizes she needs a new strategy. Still needing to make deliveries, Qianyu runs into Taichu again, who is trying unsuccessfully to rent a boat to Dolphin Island.
The boat owner refuses due to the island's dangers. Taichu explains he heard there are white dolphins there and wants to verify it. Qianyu tells him there are no dolphins left and it's a long story. To hear the tale, Taichu offers to accompany her on her delivery route. Along the way, Taichu notices a tear in her clothes, for which she thanks him.
Qianyu recounts the legend of Dolphin Island: how it was once home to many white dolphins that guided lost fishermen, and how, after their mysterious disappearance, the island was named in their honor, but now, due to dangerous submerged rocks, few dare to go there. Taichu also observes Qianyu’s notebook, filled with various odd jobs she takes on, from delivering food and packages to hourly cleaning services, all to make money.
She tells him that while her mother's piano is now safe, her late father left her with significant debts, compelling her to work tirelessly, even feeling that "sleeping is a waste of time." She explains she has two mothers: her biological mother, a piano teacher who died after her father incurred debts for her treatment, leading them to Guanmei Fishing Village. There, her father married Chen Jinzhi, but he also passed away shortly after.
Chen Jinzhi not only raised her and Shengzhe but also took on her father's debts. Despite Chen Jinzhi's "stingy and snobbish" facade, Qianyu expresses deep gratitude for her kindness. Taichu acknowledges that both Qianyu and Chen Jinzhi are kind-hearted.
When Taichu shares that travel is his work and a process of "discovering myself," explaining his determination to visit Dolphin Island, Qianyu, impressed, offers to take him there herself, declaring her boldness is "as thick as pork belly" and she fears nothing. A flashback reveals Ziqian's past: Shan's father reassures a young Ziqian that the Shan family is his home, and Ziqian, as a child, asks Uncle Shan if he can take home a crying little girl he found (Yunyi).
Shan's father agrees. Young Yunyi wants to go back to wait for her mom, but Ziqian tells her her mom will find her at his home and offers her chocolate. This established Ziqian's deep emotional connection and protective instincts towards Yunyi from a young age. Back in the present, Ziqian explains Yunyi's preferences for pink decorations and white roses for the engagement to Junhao, who finds them "too plain."
Junhao notes Ziqian's intimate knowledge of Yunyi, realizing Ziqian knows her better than he does. Junhao also questions why Ziqian always performs at 90% when he's capable of 100%, implying Ziqian intentionally holds back. Ziqian, who sees himself as a "social man" compared to Junhao's "solitary man," states he doesn't want to compete, especially concerning Yunyi, whom he has loved since childhood, ever since he brought her into the Shan family.
His deep gratitude to the Shan family for taking him in has always kept him from actively pursuing Yunyi, prioritizing Junhao's happiness. When Junhao jokingly says the "solitary man" is getting married while the "social man" is still single, and challenges Ziqian to compete if he's not content, Ziqian firmly asserts he "won't give others any chance," subtly reaffirming his silent devotion. On the day of the engagement, Yunyi and Junhao are preparing.
Junhao's mother, doting on Yunyi, fetches a head accessory for her. Ziqian arrives and compliments Yunyi's beauty, who then mentions she can't eat chocolate because of her lipstick, leading Ziqian to wish her happiness. Junhao tells Yunyi the wedding ring is ready and he is going to pick it up. Yunyi offers to go, but Junhao insists on fetching it himself, as it's "our ring." Yunyi promises to wait for him.
Meanwhile, Tang Shunming, desperate to save Guanmei Hotel, unsuccessfully tries to borrow two million yuan. He reads a newspaper headline about Shan Junhao's engagement, and a dark thought crosses his mind: if Shan Junhao "disappears," no one can take his Guanmei Hotel. He attempts to enter the engagement ceremony but is denied entry without an invitation. He then spots Junhao leaving and follows him.
After Junhao collects the rings from Qianhe International Jewelry Design Studio, Tang Shunming vows to give him "some punishment." He accelerates, intending to crash into Junhao's car. However, an oncoming truck forces Junhao to swerve, causing his car to plunge into the sea, with Junhao still inside. Back at the ceremony, Junhao's family grows increasingly anxious as he is late and cannot be reached by phone.
Junhao's father decides they "can't wait any longer" and must "call off the ceremony immediately" to avoid "unnecessary presumptions" from the waiting guests. Director Xu (Ziqian) then steps onto the stage and announces to the bewildered guests that the ceremony is "forced to be called off" due to Shan's father's "sudden illness" and his immediate hospitalization. He reassures guests that details will be provided after diagnosis and asks for their understanding.
