Taichu waited for Shan Junhao, but he had not returned to the office, so Taichu decided to give Qianyu's video to him the following day. Meanwhile, Shan Junhao was resolute in his refusal to apologize to Xie Quan. Xu Ziqian supported his stance, believing that perceptive people would understand there were underlying reasons for Shan Junhao's actions.
However, Fan Yunyi and Shan Junhao's mother were worried about the escalating situation and urged him to apologize for the sake of the company. Shan Junhao, however, defiantly stated that he would not yield to malicious slander. Later, while inspecting hotel rooms, Shan Junhao overheard Ye Qianyu lying to Mama Jinzhi on the phone, claiming to be a "highly regarded manager" at Senwell with a heavy workload. Shan Junhao confronted her, mockingly asking if deceiving people was her professional skill.
Ye Qianyu retorted, comparing him to a dog that bites and suggesting he deserved the negative headlines. She then took the opportunity to show him the video she had secretly recorded. Ye Qianyu explained that she filmed him because she found him "cute" when he got angry and fought, remarking that he was usually like a moving iceberg. She added that he was now the idol of countless fans online.
Shan Junhao warned her against filming guests in the future but listened as she suggested he should apologize in an "unusual way." Shan Junhao then instructed his assistant, Dawei, to immediately organize a press conference. Fan Yunyi and Xu Ziqian were surprised by his sudden change of heart, asking what had made him alter his decision. Shan Junhao cryptically replied that the conference was not for an apology.
At the press conference, while some speculated about Senwell's impending doom or a headline-grabbing apology, Shan Junhao began by offering a sincere apology to the public and Senwell Group for the confusion caused by his conflict with Xie Quan. However, he declared that an apology to Xie Quan himself was unnecessary.
He then publicly displayed Ye Qianyu's video, revealing that Xie Quan, a renowned media professional, had not only blackmailed his interview subject but also harassed a female employee of Senwell Hotel. Shan Junhao stated that Xie Quan deserved the beating and emphasized that Senwell Group valued honesty and would never tolerate malicious slander or defamation. The footage instantly shifted public opinion, turning Xie Quan, the accuser, into the subject of public outrage.
Following the successful press conference that diffused Senwell's crisis, Shan Junhao invited Ye Qianyu to his office. Ye Qianyu, ecstatic, assumed he wanted to thank and celebrate with her, even joking about a salary raise but not a promotion as she preferred to hone her skills. Shan Junhao, initially not intending to celebrate, opened a bottle of wine.
As they drank, Ye Qianyu grew increasingly inebriated, remarking that she had never seen him smile before and that he looked handsome when he did. In her drunken state, she grabbed his ear and playfully forced him to drink directly from the bottle. She then mistook him for Tonghao, her beloved childhood friend, calling him by that name, pinching his face, and repeatedly asking him to smile.
Shan Junhao asked if she typically drank so much with strangers, to which she insisted he was not a stranger but her favorite Tonghao. Holding the inebriated Ye Qianyu, Shan Junhao was conflicted; he felt a growing affection for her, but he knew he couldn't act on it. He was engaged to Fan Yunyi, and Ye Qianyu's affection was for Tonghao, not him.
Fan Yunyi called, and Shan Junhao, still with Ye Qianyu, lied that he was busy with work and told her not to wait up. Ye Qianyu, overhearing this, drunkenly asked if she was his "work" and if drinking with her was part of his job. She then asked him a question no one else had ever posed: if he was happier now as Shan Junhao than he had been as Tonghao.
Shan Junhao replied that his life was always under his control, and he disliked disorder and chaos, but he inwardly admitted to being grateful for her presence, for the troubles she brought, and for her help in resolving crises. He gently placed Ye Qianyu on the sofa, covered her with his jacket, intending to stay with her in the office for the night. However, he fell asleep.
Ye Qianyu awoke later, saw several missed calls from Mama Jinzhi, and quietly slipped out, leaving Shan Junhao asleep. Taichu was waiting for Ye Qianyu outside the Senwell building. He drove her to his apartment, offering her slippers and pajamas, which initially startled Ye Qianyu, making her think he had a woman living with him. Ye Qianyu honestly told Taichu that Shan Junhao had invited her for a drink to show his gratitude.
Taichu, though seemingly a bit disheartened, didn't show it and simply took care of her. Shan Junhao woke up to find Ye Qianyu gone, leaving behind a stuffed frog doll and a note. The note explained that his office was cold and that the frog had been a good friend to Tonghao.
Xu Ziqian entered, initially assuming Shan Junhao was working hard, but his expression changed when he saw the doll and note, leading him to believe Shan Junhao had done something inappropriate, especially considering his upcoming wedding to Fan Yunyi. Xu Ziqian angrily reminded Shan Junhao of his engagement to Fan Yunyi. Just then, Fan Yunyi arrived, asking Shan Junhao if he had slept in the office due to work and if he had been drinking.
Shan Junhao quickly covered up, claiming he had been drinking with Dawei, leading Fan Yunyi to mistakenly scold Dawei for not taking care of Shan Junhao and indulging his bad habits. Fan Yunyi then noticed the frog doll, and Shan Junhao again lied, saying it was a gift from the employee who filmed the video, dismissing her suspicions.
Later at the hotel, Ye Qianyu's colleagues praised her for saving Senwell, mentioning how many canceled rooms had been rebooked thanks to her video. Even her manager, usually critical, let her off for being late, acknowledging her significant contribution. Her colleagues were impressed by her resourcefulness in filming Xie Quan.
