Tonghao, also known as Shan Junhao, confidently told Ye Qianyu that his identity had not changed who he was, and in fact, Shan Junhao's vast wealth now perfectly matched Mama Jinzhi's criteria, which would surely prevent her from opposing their relationship. However, Ye Qianyu revealed a crucial detail that left him speechless: Shan Junhao already had a fiancée. Tonghao asserted that he had no recollection of any past with this fiancée, considering her a complete stranger.
He insisted he did not wish to be Shan Junhao, but preferred being Tonghao, a grocery seller who found his life beginning anew after meeting Ye Qianyu. Ye Qianyu then confessed that his amnesia was her fault, admitting she had driven into him and subsequently failed to call the police, instead creating a false identity for him.
Despite this revelation, Tonghao calmly reaffirmed his feelings for Ye Qianyu, stating that while he was uncertain about many things in his past and future, his love for her was the one thing he knew for sure. Later, Taichu met with Ye Qianyu to inform her of his departure for South America, suggesting he might not return. He confided that he had lingered in Guanmei Fishing Village longer than planned because he had met her.
He encouraged Ye Qianyu to reach out if she ever desired to explore the outside world. In return, Ye Qianyu assured him that if he ever grew weary from his travels, he would always be welcome back to Guanmei Inn, where everyone would be happy to see him. Before his final departure, the villagers of Guanmei Inn, including Mama Jinzhi and others, gathered to bid Taichu farewell, offering him food and a talisman for safe travels.
That same night, Taichu had a private conversation with Tonghao. He asked if Tonghao truly loved Ye Qianyu, to which Tonghao immediately replied yes. Acknowledging that Ye Qianyu's heart belonged to Tonghao, Taichu urged him to promise to protect her unconditionally, regardless of whether he remained Tonghao or reverted to Shan Junhao. Taichu made it clear that if Tonghao failed, he himself would step in.
Tonghao, however, firmly stated that he would always protect Ye Qianyu, with or without Taichu's presence. Taichu’s departure saddened Ye Qianyu, who mused about life being full of goodbyes. Tonghao, understanding her fear of him also leaving, gently kissed her, promising he would always be by her side. At that moment, a woman named Fan Yunyi suddenly appeared, calling out "Junhao." Tonghao, however, showed no recognition, and asked how he could help her, then turned and walked away.
Xu Ziqian, who was with Fan Yunyi, rushed to comfort her as she broke down, saying Junhao had forgotten her. Ye Qianyu approached, filled with guilt, but a furious Fan Yunyi slapped her, accusing her of ruining Shan Junhao’s life. She enumerated the consequences: the company’s troubles, the turmoil within the Shan family, and most tragically, Shan Junhao's father passing away without a final glimpse of his son.
Fan Yunyi blamed Ye Qianyu for selfishly keeping him in Guanmei Fishing Village and demanded that she return "her Junhao." Xu Ziqian tried to calm Fan Yunyi, reminding her they needed to inform Aunt Jiang (Shan's mother). Fan Yunyi and Xu Ziqian arrived at the Shan residence, finding Aunt Jiang looking at old photos and grieving for her lost son. They joyfully informed her that Shan Junhao was alive. Aunt Jiang was overcome with emotion, eager to see him immediately.
To manage her fragile state, Fan Yunyi and Xu Ziqian decided to conceal Shan Junhao's amnesia, telling her instead that he needed time to get himself together after his ordeal before returning home. Aunt Jiang, though still anxious, found some peace in the knowledge that her son was alive and would soon be home. Meanwhile, Ye Qianyu told Tonghao that she knew he would eventually leave Guanmei Fishing Village, which would simply become a passing landscape in his life.
Despite this painful truth, she confessed she had fallen deeply in love with him. Tonghao repeatedly insisted he wanted to stay by her side in Guanmei. However, Ye Qianyu believed he didn't belong there; he had a family and responsibilities, and she couldn't selfishly keep him for herself. She began to subtly distance herself from him.
At a board meeting, Zhang Minghan asserted that the Guanmei Fishing Village development project would proceed, despite the white dolphin issue, and announced an acceleration of the project. Immediately after, Xu Ziqian dramatically announced Shan Junhao's return, sparking widespread discussion among the board members. Observing Zhang Minghan's obvious displeasure, two shareholders proposed making Shan Junhao disappear once more.
Zhang Minghan, however, sharply reprimanded them, reminding them that they were entrepreneurs, not gangsters, and that he intended to compete fairly and honorably. He concluded by stating that his position as general manager of Senwell remained unchanged, regardless of Shan Junhao's return. Tonghao later found Ye Qianyu, apologizing for his previous attitude towards her. When she tried to apologize in return, he seized the opportunity to ask her on a date.
Ye Qianyu hesitated, reminding him that she had inadvertently separated him from his family, and that he should hate her and those who concealed his identity. She emphasized that they came from different worlds and he needed to return to his family, who longed for him.
Tonghao revealed that a doctor had informed him of a surgical option to restore his memory, but he had chosen not to undergo it because he valued his present happiness and memories with her over his unknown past. He added that if it hadn't been for her, he might not have survived at all, urging her not to belittle herself. Moved by his words and his confession of "I love you," Ye Qianyu finally agreed to the date.
They went to an amusement park and rode a carousel. Ye Qianyu commented on the carousel's bittersweet symbolism of distance and waiting for couples. To bridge this metaphorical distance, Tonghao leaned in and kissed her. A staff member captured the moment, and Tonghao bought the photo. He then presented Ye Qianyu with a stack of "wish cards," many of which were blank, inviting her to write down any wish she desired for him to fulfill.
Ye Qianyu, feeling immensely happy, reciprocated his affections and told him she loved him. She then suggested a "trust game," blindfolding herself and entrusting Tonghao to lead her wherever he wished. As Tonghao guided her, Ye Qianyu brought up the ring she wore, mentioning she had found it on the beach and couldn't remove it, and that he had once claimed it was his.
She speculated that it might have been an engagement ring for Fan Yunyi, and despite her attempts to take it off, it remained firmly on her finger. Tonghao then shared a thought that spontaneously came to him: when true love appears, the ring will tightly enclose the finger and never come off. He urged her to believe that the ring was meant for her.
He then looked into her eyes and declared that no matter who he was in the past or what he had done, from that day forward, and into the future, he only wished to be her Tonghao.
