Flavour It's Yours Episode 21 Recap
> Flavour It's Yours Recap
During breakfast, Lu Weixun asked He Buzui if she knew the wealthiest person in the world. After her guesses of Bill Gates, Buffett, and Jack Ma were all incorrect, Lu Weixun revealed the answer was Ultraman. Seeing her confusion, he explained that the name is on all ATMs. The pun made He Buzui smile, prompting Lu Weixun to remark that she looked better when she smiled, as her worried expression made her less attractive.
He Buzui retorted, asking who else she would be worried for, and Lu Weixun quickly reassured her that he knew her concern was for him. He held her hand and promised they would win. The competition commenced with a total of three rounds. In the first round, Lu Weixun and He Buzui were pitted against Lu Linong and Mu Chunfeng.
The rules stipulated that one member from each team would select three wines for their opponent to taste, who then had fifteen minutes to identify the wines and their wineries. He Buzui demonstrated her exceptional palate, describing the complex notes of blackberry, cherry, raspberry, licorice, coffee, and even subtle hints of dirt in one wine. She meticulously identified another as featuring blueberry, blackcurrant, blackberry, rose, anise, and baked spices, praising its creamy texture and layered flavor.
For the third wine, she noted strong blackberry and licorice, describing it as a condensed and balanced Shiraz. Her accuracy was perfect, as she correctly identified all three wines: Opus One from Napa Valley, d'Arenberg The Dead Arm Shiraz from McLaren Vale, and Chateau Pavie from Saint-Emilion, France. In contrast, Lu Linong faltered, incorrectly identifying an entry-level Australian Shiraz, leading to Lu Weixun and He Buzui's victory.
Lu Linong acknowledged that Lu Weixun had exploited his "blind spot," admitting he had been out of touch with modern consumer tastes. Following the competition, the four were gathered at a cafe. A Mr. Wan entered, and after a brief greeting with He Buzui, he joined Lu Linong’s table. Lu Linong inquired about his son, Zeze's, health. Mr. Wan expressed gratitude, explaining that Lu Linong’s past assistance had enabled him to afford Zeze’s surgery.
Observing the interaction, He Buzui remarked to Lu Weixun about the curious coincidence of Mr. Wan's closeness to her father. Lu Linong then asked Mr. Wan if he knew He Buzui, and Mr. Wan confirmed she was the daughter of He Wangyou from the He Wine Distillery. As He Buzui and Lu Weixun excused themselves, Mr. Wan was seen advising Zeze, who was also present, to consider hospitalization, though Zeze insisted he wasn't ill.
The second round involved tasting 101 glasses of red wine, with the first team to correctly identify 51 declared the winner. Lu Linong and Mu Chunfeng quickly submitted their answers. He Buzui, despite her meticulous tasting, was slower. Confident they had already won, Mu Chunfeng urged Lu Linong to submit their list. Ultimately, Lu Linong and Mu Chunfeng were announced as the victors of the second round. After their loss, He Buzui apologized for not being faster.
Lu Weixun comforted her, assuring her she had done very well. She playfully noted his gentle side was unfamiliar, as he would typically be sulky after a loss. After seeing her into her hotel room, Lu Weixun was approached by Lu Linong, who urged him to abandon the third round, insisting he had no chance of winning.
Lu Weixun confidently asserted that his refined palate, a result of Lu Linong’s own training, was his strength, and he had faith in himself. Meanwhile, in her room, He Buzui drifted off to sleep and relived a terrifying childhood memory from the old winery. Jolting awake, she lit a lamp, convinced the experience was not a dream but a fragment of her lost memory.
Driven by this, He Buzui called Yi Nanke, revealing her suspicion that someone might be buried beneath the old winery. She explained that ever since her palate recovered after drinking 'Pear Blossom' wine, she had been plagued by strange dreams linked to the night she fell into a wine vat—the same night Yi Nanke’s father disappeared. She consistently dreamt of a person in black whose face remained obscured.
Yi Nanke insisted they report it to the police, but He Buzui hesitated, unsure if it was a dream or a repressed memory and lacking concrete evidence. Yi Nanke was resolute, suggesting they go investigate for themselves. He dismissed her suggestion to go later and pressed to go immediately, proposing that her "friends from the street" might be able to help. He Buzui was taken aback, questioning when she ever had such friends.
As He Buzui prepared to leave, Mr. Wan spotted her outside the hotel and questioned why she was out so late. She explained she was meeting a friend named Yi Nanke and declined his offer of a ride. She then took a cab to Brother De's location, where Yi Nanke was waiting. Yi Nanke explained they needed Brother De’s help, and his men were ready to assist for a price.
Yi Nanke urged He Buzui to proceed, reminding her of a past incident involving a "Boss Yang" to emphasize the urgency. Upon arriving at the old winery, they found it guarded. Brother De created a distraction by pretending to search for his lost dog, "Beibei," and arguing loudly with the guards, who identified the location as "Wanjia Warehouse," a Lu Group property. Amidst the chaos, He Buzui and Yi Nanke slipped inside.
Though the interior had changed, He Buzui, relying on her fragmented memories, pointed to a specific warehouse. They entered and, in an open area behind it, Yi Nanke began to dig, with He Buzui soon joining him. Simultaneously, Brother De's men, Briar and Bramble, brawled with the security guards.
During the commotion, Mr. Wan received a call from his subordinate, informing him that people were digging in the warehouse and that Yi Nanke and He Buzui had been spotted but were now missing. Mr. Wan instructed him not to alert the police and immediately headed to the scene. As the fight continued, Yi Nanke paused his digging, retrieving a ring from the loosened earth. He told He Buzui it was his parents' wedding ring.
Realizing her memories were real, He Buzui dug with newfound determination. Yi Nanke then shouted for Brother De to stop fighting and promptly called the police. Soon after, the police arrived, quickly followed by Mr. Wan, who demanded to know who called them. Yi Nanke explained to the officers that his father, missing for two decades, might be buried there. Mr. Wan, surprised to see He Buzui, was identified by her as a former colleague of her father.
He dismissively told Yi Nanke not to make baseless accusations, but Yi Nanke held up the ring as proof. A police officer took the ring for evidence and informed everyone they would need to go to the station to provide statements, causing one of Mr. Wan's subordinates to mutter that they were "doomed."
