After Xiao Yan's inquiry, he learned that Ge Ye had only found Xiao Yixian after listening to Han Feng's words. Ge Ye brought up Yun Shan and demanded Xiao Yan hand over the Natal Amethyst Source, but Xiao Yan refused to compromise. Just then, Yun Yun led the disciples of the Misty Cloud Sect to Canaan Academy.
She demanded Xiao Yan hand over Xiao Yixian. Xiao Yan's resolve to protect Xiao Yixian was firm. He ignited his Heavenly Flame, blocking Xiao Yixian's path. Before Yun Yun could act, a figure swiftly appeared between the two. The newcomer enthusiastically greeted Xiao Yan, who was surprised to recognize the person before him as the famous Ice Emperor, Hai Bodong. In the room, Nalan Yanran knelt before Xiao Yan, stating that Nalan Jie had vomited blood and fainted. She pleaded with Xiao Yan to save Nalan Jie, offering to sacrifice her own life if Xiao Yan still harbored hatred towards her. Mitengshan had Nalan Yanran leave the room first. He then informed Xiao Yan of Nalan Jie's condition: Nalan Jie had been poisoned by "Brand Toxin" and it could only be expelled with a Heavenly Flame.
Xiao Yan remembered Nalan Yanran proactively seeking him out in the Magical Beast Mountain Range, and only then did he realize that Nalan Yanran had already known about the trouble in the Nalan family.
