Princess Feng Xiyang, imprisoned by Emperor Xia Jingyan, desperately demanded her release so she could return to Susha. She stated she had divorced Xia Jingshi and wished for a message to be sent to her father and brother, annulling the marriage alliance, as she intended to return home soon.

Xia Jingyan, however, mockingly claimed he was powerless to send messages to the dead, shocking Feng Xiyang with the news that her father, Emperor Feng Pingcheng, and her brother, Feng Suige, were both deceased. Initially disbelieving, she fiercely retorted that only his own father and brother were dead. When Xia Jingyan produced an urgent report from Susha, Feng Xiyang's disbelief turned to anguished tears as she finally comprehended the truth.

Overcome with grief, she repeatedly fell to the ground as she desperately tried to escape and return to Susha, crying out that her father and brother were alive. Xia Jingyan continued to torment her, reminding her that Feng Suige was branded a regicidal usurper and that she now had no home or family, calling her a "wandering ghost" and attributing her suffering to her marriage to Xia Jingshi. Enraged by his taunts, Feng Xiyang bit Xia Jingyan's finger.

The Emperor, bleeding and in pain, was amused by her vengeful spirit, noting there was now one more person in the world who hated Xia Jingshi. Meanwhile, Xia Jingshi also learned of Feng Pingcheng and Feng Suige's deaths. Rumors claimed Feng Suige had committed patricide and usurpation, only to be executed by Murong Yao, leaving Murong Zhong and his son in power in Susha.

Xia Jingshi, knowing Feng Suige's character, quickly deduced that Murong Zhong and his son were the true orchestrators, framing Feng Suige. He realized that Susha's turmoil meant the Grand Empress Dowager and Xia Jingyan would no longer need him, potentially making him a target. Expediting his own plans, Xia Jingshi summoned his hidden contacts within the palace to arrange a meeting and plan his next moves, including the assassination of Emperor Xia Jingyan.

Following Lord Ling's guidance, Fu Yixiao and her companions arrived at Wufeng Mountain, home to the Storm Alliance, a tranquil and secluded place where everyone lived by fishing, woodcutting, farming, and studying. Ling Xueying, already present, had come to help Ning Fei heal his emotional wounds after his physical recovery. Upon hearing of Lord Ling's arrival with a patient, Ling Xueying and Ning Fei rushed over. Ning Fei, momentarily distracted, blurted out "Feng Suige," revealing the patient's identity.

Zhang Dongshi, the Fishing Elder, was furious upon learning the man was Feng Suige, the son of Feng Pingcheng, whom the Alliance held responsible for the siege that caused them so much suffering and the death of Wei Qingyu. Fu Yixiao passionately argued that Wei Qingyu was actually killed by Zhuang Shen, the Prime Minister of Susha, and that the siege on the Storm Alliance might not have been ordered by Feng Pingcheng.

She explained that Feng Suige had avenged his mother by executing Zhuang Shen, making him a hero in Susha. However, her words only swayed Elder Zhou Hao of the Studying Branch. The other elders, particularly Lei Lie of the Woodcutting Branch, whose two sons died in the siege, remained adamant, stating that anyone from the Feng family was their sworn enemy and Feng Suige must pay for his father's sins.

Elder Zhou secretly gave Fu Yixiao a Sifang Elixir to keep Feng Suige alive for a few more days, explaining the deep-seated hatred among the elders due to their personal losses. Later, Fu Yixiao spoke with Lord Ling, who recounted how Wei Qingyu, after a near-fatal injury, had a profound change of heart, realizing the preciousness of life. She founded the Storm Alliance to offer shelter and hope to the displaced and suffering, a haven for peace and coexistence.

Lord Ling lamented that the Alliance had strayed from Wei Qingyu's compassionate vision, becoming consumed by hatred. Drawing parallels between Fu Yixiao and Wei Qingyu, Lord Ling noted their shared courage, resourcefulness, and compassion. Inspired, Fu Yixiao sought out Elder Lei, reminding him of Wei Qingyu's original purpose for the Storm Alliance—to be a "Great Shelter" for those caught in life's storms, ensuring that "those who bring warmth to others must not be left to freeze in the snow."

She argued that Feng Suige, having never harmed innocent people and having avenged his mother, should not pay for sins that were not his, especially since his mother had saved so many through the Alliance. Moved by Fu Yixiao's words and her resemblance to the late Wei Qingyu, Elder Lei's resolve began to soften.

From day to night, Lord Ling and Elder Zhou Hao worked tirelessly, employing unconventional acupuncture techniques, finger-pricking at the Shaoshang point, and pressing the Zuzhong point to stimulate Feng Suige's heart meridian and restore his blocked circulation. Their efforts were successful; Feng Suige's life was saved, though he remained unconscious due to the prolonged coma, his full recovery awaiting his awakening. In Shengfu Hall, Feng Xiyang confronted Xia Jingyan again, holding a knife to his throat, drawing blood.

She forced him to remember the sting of her humiliation, declaring it his retribution. Displaying a defiant attitude that amused Xia Jingyan, she offered to agree to any condition if he would help her uncover the true murderers of her father and brother. Intrigued, Xia Jingyan commanded his officials to immediately investigate the death of Feng Pingcheng and uncover the truth within three days, threatening their lives if they failed.

Later, as Feng Xiyang returned to Rongyang Palace, Xia Jingshi intercepted her, offering his help and expressing concern. However, Feng Xiyang, with a steely resolve, rebuffed him, stating that the person he once knew was dead, and she no longer recognized him, cutting off any remaining ties. The Grand Empress Dowager Jing summoned Feng Xiyang, chastising her for unilaterally annulling her marriage to Xia Jingshi, reminding her of its political importance.

Though offering condolences for her family's fate, the Grand Empress Dowager urged Feng Xiyang to reconcile with Xia Jingshi, promising to be her protector if she complied, revealing her calculated manipulation of power. Feng Xiyang, perceiving the Grand Empress Dowager's true intent to be control, defiantly refused. She declared that she controlled her own destiny, that her decisions to marry, leave Susha, and divorce Xia Jingshi were all her own.

She vowed never to change her mind, even if it meant death, asserting that aside from her father and brother, she needed no one's protection, for she, Feng Xiyang, was her own protector.
