After Ye Hua's noble sacrifice against the Donghuang Bell, Bai Qian knelt before Le Xu and Tian Jun (Ye Hua's parents), who still harbored resentment towards her. She then personally bathed and dressed Ye Hua's immortal body, kissing him goodbye. She reflected on the irony of their high statuses preventing them from an ordinary life, recalling Ye Hua's longing for the simple life of his uncle Sang Ji.
Weeping, she confessed her regret and how her pride had kept her from admitting her forgiveness and love sooner, acknowledging the immense suffering Ye Hua had endured. As Ye Hua's crystal coffin was carried away, despite her pleas, the Eldest Prince denied her request to accompany it to the Sea of Innocence, citing it as a sacred Heavenly Tribe site.
Bai Qian chased the coffin to the entrance of the Fox Den, collapsing in grief and crying out Ye Hua's name. Dong Hua Dijun, carrying Ye Hua's body, returned to the Heavenly Palace. Feng Jiu, who had followed, waited outside. Dijun came to her, reassuring her about his injuries sustained during the battle.
He confessed that if he hadn't erased his name from the Stone of Three Lives, he would have loved her, explaining that his mortal tribulation was also for his own sake. With this, he departed, leaving Feng Jiu to accept that their destined romance was truly over. Heartbroken and distraught, Bai Qian spent her days in the Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms, often seeing illusions of Ye Hua.
She pondered whether dissipating her soul would allow them to reunite, but feared losing all memory of him. Bai Zhen, witnessing her torment, expressed his concern. Bai Qian revealed that breaking the Soul Gathering Lamp had returned her 300 years of forgotten memories, leaving her haunted by Ye Hua's past kindness, which she had failed to appreciate.
She chastised herself, realizing she was as foolish as Li Jing, who pursued what he couldn't have and failed to cherish what he possessed. Overwhelmed, she sought refuge in sleep, where she could finally be with Ye Hua in her dreams. In these sweet dreams, Ye Hua explained away past misunderstandings, clarifying his interactions in the mortal realm and reassuring her he had never truly cared for Su Jin. Bai Qian, comforted, leaned into him, wishing never to wake.
She also frequently visited Ye Hua's cenotaph, speaking her longing and asking him to visit her dreams, especially since his parents had denied her his body due to their unwed status. Three years later, Feng Jiu prepared to ascend as the Empress of Qing Qiu. The Fox Queen prepared her, while Feng Jiu wondered if Bai Qian and Bai Zhen would return from their travels.
Siming had informed Feng Jiu that since Ye Hua's demise, the Heavenly Monarch, overwhelmed with grief, had largely entrusted the Heavenly Tribe's affairs to Dong Hua Dijun, causing him immense labor. Feng Jiu accepted that her new role as Empress would prevent her from visiting Dijun in Tai Chen Palace as before. During her ascension ceremony, Siming presented Dijun's gift: a map depicting his and Father God's conquests across the Four Seas and Eight Wildernesses.
Siming explained that the map's contents were now ancient history, emphasizing the insignificance of some matters compared to the vastness of the cosmos, hinting that Feng Jiu should move past her feelings for Dijun. Meanwhile, in Tai Chen Palace, Dijun secretly watched Feng Jiu through a bronze mirror. As he rose, a striking red fox tail briefly flashed from his waist.
Bai Qian and Bai Zhen continued their travels in the mortal realm, where Bai Zhen hoped to help Bai Qian heal. However, Bai Qian had found her own solace, explaining to Bai Zhen that for the past three years, ever since she began dreaming of Ye Hua, she had chosen to live treating her dreams as reality and reality as illusion. This new perspective, she found, brought her peace and contentment.
Bai Qian and Bai Zhen were traveling in the mortal realm when they saw Su Jin, who had been banished and was suffering greatly in the human world. Bai Qian told Bai Zhen she felt the Heavenly Monarch's tribulation for Su Jin was quite harsh, likely due to Ye Hua. She acknowledged that Su Jin had paid her debt and now had nothing more to do with her.
Bai Qian then questioned if Bai Zhen had specifically brought her to see Su Jin, to which he simply replied, "If you say so." Feeling tired, Bai Qian suggested they find a place for tea. They happened upon a tea stall run by Yan Zhi, who recognized Bai Qian as Si Yin, expressing her surprise at seeing her after 70,000 years since the Battle of Ruoshui.
Yan Zhi introduced her companion, a young girl, as Li Jing's child, who affectionately called Yan Zhi "Mother" and complimented Bai Qian's beauty. Just then, Ah Li ran up to Bai Qian, tearfully asking why she hadn't visited him in three years and if she no longer wanted him.
Bai Qian embraced him, explaining that she had been sleeping for three years and had only just woken up the day before, planning to visit him in the Heavenly Palace after a walk in the mortal realm. Ah Li told her he was on his way to the Sea of Innocence to worship his father and asked her to join him. Bai Qian took Ah Li to the Sea of Innocence.
Ah Li asked if she missed his father, and Bai Qian confirmed she always did. She mused that Father God had left two sons, one as her teacher, Mo Yuan, and the other as her husband, Ye Hua, vowing never to look at another man. Zi Lan then emerged from the Sea of Innocence, jokingly remarking on Bai Qian's boastful words but expressing relief at having visitors after a lonely three years.
Zi Lan led them to Ye Hua's mystic crystal coffin. Ah Li spoke to the coffin, apologizing for his absence and expressing how much he missed his father. Bai Qian looked at the coffin, thinking how Ye Hua could finally rest, free from endless official documents and constant battles. Bai Zhen discreetly took Ah Li away, leaving Bai Qian alone with the coffin.
Not long after Bai Qian and her companions departed from the Sea of Innocence, the area around Ye Hua's crystal coffin began to glow with immense immortal energy. Simultaneously, a chorus of birds resonated throughout the Heavenly Palace. A report was brought to the Heavenly Monarch about the phenomenon, stating that a powerful divine mist surrounded the Icy Mystic Crystal Coffin, making it unapproachable.
The Heavenly Monarch and other deities were astonished, questioning how such strong immortal energy could protect Ye Hua if his spirit had truly dispersed. Sang Ji exclaimed his belief that Ye Hua might not be dead, prompting the Heavenly Monarch to declare that Ye Hua was returning. The Heavenly Monarch immediately sent Sang Ji to request High God Mo Yuan to personally investigate the Sea of Innocence. Upon arriving and examining Ye Hua's spirit, Mo Yuan understood the situation.
He mused that if not for the Icy Mystic Crystal Coffin and the Sea of Innocence, Bai Qian, his Seventeenth disciple, would have had to endure many more years of waiting. Soon after, Ye Hua awakened. He then called out to Mo Yuan, who instructed him to find his Seventeenth disciple, Bai Qian, emphasizing that she had been waiting for three years.
Mo Yuan informed Ye Hua that Bai Qian had built a cenotaph for him in the Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms. Ye Hua, with a grateful "Thank you, Big Brother," bowed respectfully to the Heavenly Monarch and the other deities, then swiftly departed for the Peach Blossom Forest. After Bai Zhen departed, Bai Qian remained at the playhouse to enjoy more performances. There, she encountered Zhi Yue, who, unable to contain her words, began to tell Bai Qian a story.
She spoke of her talented older cousin, a handsome man whom all women adored, but whose fate was tragically cut short when he died young on the battlefield. He left behind sorrowful elderly parents and a young son who cried constantly, making them all very pitiable. Zhi Yue further explained that everyone believed her cousin's soul had dispersed, so his body was placed in an Icy Mystic Crystal Coffin and submerged in the sea.
However, recently, the sea had mysteriously stirred, and a powerful divine mist surrounded the coffin. She relayed her parents' growing belief that her cousin might not be dead after all, which would mean little Ah Li would no longer have to mourn. Bai Qian also gave Zhi Yue a pearl to reward the performers.
A stunned Bai Qian, her voice barely a whisper, asked if the sea she spoke of was the Sea of Innocence, and if her older cousin was the Crown Prince of the Heavenly Tribe, Ye Hua. Zhi Yue stammered, surprised at Bai Qian's knowledge, worried she had revealed a great secret. Bai Qian stumbled out of the tea house and swiftly flew towards the Heavenly Palace.
She burst into the Xi Wu Palace, frantically asking a passing immortal maid, "Where is Ye Hua? !" The maid, startled, replied that the Crown Prince had been buried in the Sea of Innocence long ago. Bai Qian's heart sank, realizing her hopes might have been nothing more than a desperate fantasy. Her mind went blank, and she stumbled out of the Xi Wu Palace, almost falling, when Mo Yuan steadied her.
She urgently asked him, "Teacher, where is Ye Hua?" Mo Yuan, composed, reassured her not to be afraid, stating that he had just come to tell her about the matter. Mo Yuan explained that Father God had used half of his divine power to form the immortal fetus of the Golden Lotus, and this power had remained within Ye Hua's spirit.
Three years prior, when Ye Hua slew the four ferocious beasts of Yingzhou, he acquired the other half of Father God's divine power. Mo Yuan clarified that Ye Hua had then used the combined, full divine power of Father God to resist the destructive force of the Donghuang Bell. This immense effort had injured his spirit, causing him to fall into a deep slumber, which should have lasted for decades.
However, thanks to the Icy Mystic Crystal Coffin and the Sea of Innocence, both sacred places for recuperation, Ye Hua was able to awaken in just three years. Mo Yuan then gently urged, "Seventeenth, Ye Hua has returned. He has gone to the Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms to find you. Go quickly." Bai Qian flew back to the Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms, calling out Ye Hua's name as she ran through the vibrant forest.
Sunlight streamed through the clouds, illuminating the peach blossoms like brilliant, shimmering smoke. Beneath one such tree, a young man in black robes with white embroidery stood, gently touching a nearby tombstone. The scene was so perfect it felt like a painting, or a dream. Bai Qian held her breath. The youth turned, a soft smile gracing his lips, looking just as she remembered him from their first meeting.
With eyes that were like a painting and dark hair, he was the only color, the only sound in the world. Ye Hua extended his hand, his voice a gentle whisper, "Qian Qian, come here." Yan Zhi arrived at Kunlun Void with Li Jing's child, intending to thank her savior. She encountered Zi Lan, who expressed surprise, remarking that Xuan Nu had always referred to the child as a boy, yet it was clearly a girl.
Yan Zhi clarified that Xuan Nu had simply longed for a male heir to succeed Li Jing as the Winged Monarch. Zi Lan then observed that Xuan Nu had lived a life of self-deception. After a brief conversation about his time at Kunlun Void, Zi Lan, feigning indifference, told Yan Zhi that Kunlun Void was his sanctuary, and she should not return or seek him out again in the future. Yan Zhi, disappointed, agreed and left.
Watching her depart, Zi Lan smiled, feeling a sense of peace. Though he had sacrificed his vow to protect the Sea of Innocence to save the child, he was content knowing that Yan Zhi now had someone to accompany her through life. In his heart, true love was about self-sacrifice for the happiness of the beloved.
In the Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms, nestled in Ye Hua's embrace, Bai Qian confessed that for the past three years, she had constantly dreamed of him, playing chess and chatting, blurring the lines between dream and reality and leading her to sleep almost continuously. Ye Hua softly told her she no longer needed to sleep. Bai Qian gently touched his face, still questioning if it was real.
Ye Hua assured her it was no dream, that he was truly there before her. He vividly recalled their first encounter on Mount Junji, where she had mistaken him for a black snake and raised him, then he stayed by her side to repay her kindness. Their "confused" marriage on the mountain brought him his first taste of happiness.
He spoke of her being taken to the heavens, her leap from the Immortal Execution Platform, and how he wouldn't have known how to live without Ah Li. Ye Hua continued, recalling the moment he recognized her three hundred years later at Crystal Palace—her scolding his second uncle's wife, her distinctive hand gesture, her tone, and the mark of Red Lotus Fire.
He declared with certainty that whether she was Su Su or Qian Qian, she was his one and only love. In the Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms, Ye Hua, with a gentle smile, looked at Bai Qian and softly said, "I was ignorant that you were High Goddess Bai Qian of Green Hill."
