Suffering from her severed tail, Fengjiu was resting at Kunlun Void when Dong Hua Monarch came to visit her. Upon waking, Fengjiu nestled into his embrace and, addressing him as "Your Majesty," reminisced about their time in the mortal realm, particularly when he carried her through the rain. She tenderly asked if they could wait for the rain to stop before continuing their journey next time, to which Dong Hua softly agreed.

Then, with a playful smile, Fengjiu confessed that she was only teasing him, acknowledging his true identity as Emperor Dong Hua. She affectionately told him that he looked much better now, finding his mortal form "somewhat ugly," though quickly reassuring him he looked good in any form. She also reminded him that she had cut off her tail for him, hinting that he should repay her in this dream. Dong Hua held her gently, his eyes full of tenderness.

After she drifted back to sleep, he softly kissed her forehead before departing, instructing Bai Qian and the others not to tell Fengjiu about his visit. Bai Qian stayed by Fengjiu's side through the night, greatly relieved when Fengjiu finally woke. Fengjiu, however, believed her intimate moments with Dong Hua were merely a dream. Bai Qian lovingly admonished Fengjiu, urging her not to act foolishly again, especially after sacrificing her tail.

Fengjiu then explained that she had even attempted to carve both her and Dong Hua Monarch's names onto the Three Lives Stone, a drastic measure, believing her nine-tailed fox tail could help her achieve this. Though Bai Qian sighed, feeling she had said all she could, Fengjiu calmly assured her aunt not to worry. She reflected that cutting off her tail was like dying, granting her new clarity.

Bai Qian hoped this meant Fengjiu would let go of Dong Hua, but Fengjiu immediately clarified that it was not so, asserting that with ample time, she would surely find a solution. Bai Qian, seeing Fengjiu's unwavering devotion, knew further words would be futile. Meanwhile, Su Jin completed carving a human puppet resembling Su Su, using a spell to give it a lifelike appearance.

Xin Nu questioned the arduous effort, and Su Jin explained her intention: to send the puppet to the mortal realm to accompany Ye Hua during his tribulation. Su Jin reveled in the thought that Bai Qian, who shared her flaw of loving Ye Hua, would surely be consumed by jealousy, just as Su Jin herself was once jealous of Su Su.

Her plan was to make Bai Qian realize she was nothing more than a substitute for a dead mortal, no different from a mere wooden figure. Su Jin named the puppet Su Su and instructed Xin Nu to monitor Bai Qian, reporting immediately if the High Goddess visited Ye Hua in the mortal realm. Addressing the puppet, Su Jin noted that while the original Su Su wasn't as gentle, the mortal Ye Hua, having lost his memories, wouldn't remember her.

Years passed in the mortal realm. Ye Hua, now eighteen, had achieved great renown, becoming the top scholar in the Imperial examination and the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Revenue. One day, Su Jin strategically placed the puppet, disguised as a young woman selling herself to bury her father, outside Ye Hua's residence. Ye Hua spotted her, and the familiar posture momentarily made him wonder if it was the Qingqiu fairy from his childhood.

However, upon closer inspection, he realized that while she bore a striking resemblance to the woman he longed for, she was not her. Moved by her plight and the resemblance, Ye Hua offered her money and invited her to his residence after she buried her father. The puppet, now named Su Su, thus gained entry into Ye Hua's household. Back at Kunlun Void, Mo Yuan's upcoming seclusion date loomed.

Bai Qian had been diligently refining medicinal pills for him for six days when Zi Lan came to visit. They reminisced about their youth, recalling their simultaneous desire to become Mo Yuan's disciples and their playful competition for the sixteenth and seventeenth spots. Zi Lan playfully complained about Mo Yuan's favoritism, noting that while he was made the senior brother, Bai Qian received the precious Kunlun Fan of Yuqing.

Bai Qian countered that because of that fan, she had to call him "90,000 years senior brother." Bai Qian then noticed Zi Lan's melancholic air, sensing he had given his heart to someone. Though he initially denied it, a playful slap from Bai Qian caused him to cough blood, revealing his weakened state. Bai Qian realized he must have sacrificed much for a love that remained unspoken, specifically losing half his cultivation for Yan Zhi.

When she pressed him about his plans after Mo Yuan's seclusion, Zi Lan revealed a solemn vow he had made: to guard the Sea of Innocence, the sacred burial ground of the Heavenly Tribe, for the rest of his life, until his soul dissipated, as repayment for a wish granted by the gods. The next day, Bai Qian delivered the refined medicinal pills to Mo Yuan.

He accepted them silently, prompting Bai Qian to ask if he had any final instructions. Mo Yuan then inquired about her wedding to Ye Hua. Bai Qian happily replied that it was set for October, during the Indian summer, a beautiful time when peach blossoms bloom. Mo Yuan advised her, "Seventeenth, once you enter the Heavenly Palace, you will become the Crown Prince's person. The Heavenly Palace is not Kunlun Void. There are a lot of complicated etiquettes and rules.

You must remember to control your temper and not cause trouble again." Bai Qian cheerfully responded that in Kunlun Void, he always took responsibility for her mischief, a kindness she held in her heart. She assured him that with Ye Hua, she would be well taken care of and would not cause trouble. She expressed her hope that he would emerge from seclusion in time for her wedding, promising to bow to him and offer him tea then.

With a "Fine," Mo Yuan accepted her farewell, remaining standing in place long after she departed. Before Bai Qian left Kunlun Void, the Second Senior Brother approached her. He returned the Soul-Gathering Lamp, explaining that the Eldest Senior Brother had retrieved it from the Western Sea, where Bai Qian had carelessly left it.

Bai Qian, chiding herself for her oversight of such a sacred Heavenly Tribe artifact, entrusted the care of Kunlun Void to the Second Senior Brother during Mo Yuan's seclusion. He, in turn, promised his support, urging her to seek him in Green Hill if any problems arose. After Mo Yuan entered seclusion, Bai Qian's thoughts turned to Ye Hua. She wondered what her future husband, now an eighteen-year-old mortal, looked like.

Unable to contain her curiosity, she descended to the mortal realm. Upon reaching the Liu Manor, she learned that Ye Hua, under his mortal name Zhaoge, had already relocated to his own manor in the capital, having become a highly accomplished Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Revenue at just eighteen. Bai Qian mused that Ye Hua, indeed the Crown Prince of the Heavenly Tribe, possessed extraordinary talent even as a mortal.

Eager to see him, she quickly made her way to his official residence. In the back garden of the official's residence, Bai Qian finally spotted Ye Hua, dressed in dark robes, enjoying wine and peach blossoms with a woman in white. His gentle smile at the woman pierced Bai Qian's heart, filling her with a surge of jealousy. She silently fumed, questioning if he had forgotten her love token in just six days, already attracting "messy romance."

As she prepared to confront them, Su Jin's voice suddenly chimed from behind her. Bai Qian turned to face Su Jin, who, dressed in mortal attire, bowed respectfully. Bai Qian, her brows furrowed, questioned Su Jin's presence there. Su Jin explained, with a saccharine smile, that she had created a human puppet resembling the person Ye Hua held dear to keep him company during his lonely mortal tribulation.

She had come merely to check if her creation was adequately caring for Mighty Monarch. Bai Qian, realizing the woman with Ye Hua was merely a puppet, simply replied, "You really have put quite an effort into it." Unsatisfied, Su Jin pressed on, her gaze fixed on Bai Qian. She provocatively asked if Bai Qian knew whose likeness the puppet bore. As the puppet remained with her back to Bai Qian, Bai Qian could not tell.

Su Jin then asked, "Have you heard of the name Su Su?" Bai Qian's heart jolted. She knew of "Ah Li's mother who jumped off the Immortal Execution Platform," the woman Ye Hua had deeply loved. Su Jin, she realized, knew her deepest insecurity.

Bai Qian had long since locked away all of Su Su's belongings in Yi Lan Fang Hua, vowing never to reopen that wound, yet the thought of not being Ye Hua's first love always left her with a pang of sorrow. Su Jin continued, suggesting that Bai Qian shouldn't be bothered. As a mortal, Ye Hua wouldn't discern the puppet from a real person, thus fulfilling the dream in his heart.

She added that once he regained his true identity, he wouldn't care for a mere puppet, regardless of its resemblance to Su Su. Bai Qian understood Su Jin was implying that, for now, Ye Hua "did" care for this puppet. Bai Qian let out a dry laugh, pointedly asking if Su Jin wasn't afraid of Ye Hua blaming her for this deception upon his return to his true form.

Su Jin's smile briefly faltered, but she quickly recovered, claiming she had merely placed the puppet on the street. If Mighty Monarch chose to bring her into his residence, she would accept any blame.

Su Jin then elaborated, "It's evident that if one likes a person to the point of carving her to one's bone, even if you drink the water from the River of Forgetfulness, it will still leave an impression, turn back and fall in love with this person again." She then revealed a crucial piece of information: "Mighty Monarch has been using the Soul-Gathering Lamp to form Su Su's breath for three hundred years." Bai Qian was stunned.

Was Ye Hua trying to recreate Su Su? Did he love her only because she resembled Su Su? Despite her internal turmoil, Bai Qian maintained her High Goddess composure. She coolly acknowledged Su Jin's understanding of love, subtly mentioning Su Jin's two centuries as a concubine. Bai Qian then sarcastically praised Su Jin's meticulous work on the puppet and offered to "put in a few good words" for her if Ye Hua ever blamed her. Su Jin's smile completely froze.

After Su Jin departed, Bai Qian watched Ye Hua and the puppet with a heavy heart before returning to the Peach Blossom Forest, utterly heartbroken. Bai Zhen, noticing her distraught state, asked what had happened. Overwhelmed with sadness, Bai Qian asked her Fourth Older Brother if he knew of "Ah Li's mortal mother." She recounted Ye Hua's initial declaration of love, and her current fear that he only loved her because she resembled Su Su.

Bai Zhen tried to comfort her, telling her it was petty to be jealous of a dead person. Bai Qian admitted she felt it was meaningless to be angry over a dead person but couldn't shake her unease. She then expressed her profound insecurity: if Ye Hua loved her only because she resembled his deceased mortal wife, what made her any different from a mere substitute?

She spoke of Ye Hua's three hundred years of unwavering love for that mortal, questioning why his affections would suddenly shift upon meeting her. Bai Zhen gently urged her to reflect on Ye Hua's usual treatment of her, advising against dwelling on a dead person. Bai Qian, agreeing she shouldn't live in such confusion, called for wine.

Fengjiu then joined them, sharing her own distress over Ye Hua's seeming lack of recognition of Bai Qian in the mortal realm, and his taking in a woman who looked exactly like "Mochi's mother," Su Su. Bai Qian, growing agitated, did not want to hear more about Su Su. Fengjiu observed that Bai Qian had previously seemed unfazed by Ye Hua using the Soul-Gathering Lamp to gather Su Su's essence.

Bai Qian, in a flood of emotion, declared herself stupid for not caring about the past. She realized that by seeing Ye Hua with the puppet, and his not recognizing her but recognizing the other woman, she finally understood: "what he couldn't let go was someone else, not me." Overcome with a tumultuous mix of anger, sadness, and jealousy, Bai Qian returned to her cave in Qingqiu and drank heavily.

She grabbed the vexatious Soul-Gathering Lamp, intending to extinguish its light, but found it impossible. In a fit of frustration, she threw the lamp to the ground, shattering it with a loud clang. As the pieces scattered, a torrent of long-forgotten memories flooded her mind. She finally remembered: three hundred years ago, after her battle with Qingqang, she had not merely slept peacefully for two centuries as Zhe Yan and her father had claimed.

Instead, Qingqang had sealed her powers and memories, turning her into a mortal who fell onto Junji Mountain. " Su Su," "Ah Li's mother," the "fiery woman who jumped off the Immortal Execution Platform"—all of them were, in fact, her, Bai Qian, in her powerless and amnesiac mortal form.
