After Bai Qian administered the elixir to Die Yong, the critically weak First Prince of the Western Sea struggled for several days to stabilize as his body adjusted to the potent immortal medicine. Once his pulse was steady and his spirit visibly improved, Bai Qian finally felt she could rest. However, before she could truly fall asleep, Die Feng urgently came for her.

Fearing something had gone wrong with Mo Yuan's spirit, Bai Qian rushed back to Die Yong's bedside and used the Soul-Pursuing Spell to re-enter his consciousness. Inside Die Yong's spirit, Bai Qian discovered a vast and turbulent divine aura enveloping Mo Yuan's spirit. She immediately recognized that this immense, yet calm and majestic power was not Zhe Yan's; it was Ye Hua's. The realization struck her deeply.

She finally understood Zhe Yan's reluctance to speak plainly when he visited her previously and why he had retrieved the Mystical Mushroom seemingly unharmed. She pondered why Ye Hua had done so much for her without ever telling her. Die Feng tried to calm her, suggesting that Ye Hua, with his extraordinary power, might have worried she wouldn't take the medicine if she knew the truth, hence having Zhe Yan deliver it.

Distraught and urgent, Bai Qian immediately departed for the Nine Heavens to confront Ye Hua. A palace guard announced her arrival to Ye Hua, who, despite his severe weakness, quickly donned his clothes with one hand and instructed his attending immortal maidens to remain silent around Bai Qian and to tell her he had just finished discussing matters with various Star Monarchs.

When Bai Qian entered, she saw Ye Hua seated at his desk, diligently reviewing official documents with only his left hand, his right arm conspicuously still. His face was devoid of color, like white paper. Knowing he had sacrificed his cultivation to refine the elixir, Bai Qian struggled to hold back her tears, forcing a faint smile as Ye Hua smiled gently back at her.

Bai Qian attempted to take his pulse, but Ye Hua gently intercepted her hand, commenting on her own weakened aura. Bai Qian admitted she had been momentarily distracted while using the Soul-Pursuing Spell, causing her to cough up some blood. Ye Hua urged her to take better care of herself, pointing out that it would be counterproductive if she were to fall ill just as Mo Yuan awakened.

Moved by his concern despite his own grave condition, Bai Qian pressed him, asking about the appearance of the four ferocious beasts guarding the Mystical Mushrooms and if he was the one who refined the elixir Zhe Yan delivered. She directly questioned how much cultivation he had left. Ye Hua, feigning nonchalance, claimed the Heavenly Monarch had sent him to the Eastern Sea to destroy the Mystical Mushrooms, and he simply picked some up for her on his way.

He humorously added that the beasts were quite ugly, otherwise he might have caught one for her to keep. Noticing he continuously favored his left hand, Bai Qian pointedly asked if it wasn't time for his right hand to move. Ye Hua casually dismissed it, saying he was merely bitten by a Taowu beast, assuring her it was a minor injury that the Medicine King had treated, and he would recover after a month of rest.

Having lived for 140,000 years, Bai Qian knew the Taowu beast's bite was far from minor, often consuming flesh and bone. However, understanding Ye Hua's intention to spare her worry, she chose to pretend she believed him. Perceiving Ye Hua's efforts to put on a brave front and realizing he was on the verge of collapsing, Bai Qian quickly excused herself, citing the need to continue looking after Die Yong.

She hurried away, her composure breaking into sobs the moment she was out of his sight. She then urgently sought out Zhe Yan. Zhe Yan, who had been feeling deeply guilty for his deception, finally confessed the full truth to Bai Qian.

He explained Ye Hua's elaborate plan: first, keeping Bai Qian occupied for three days and nights guarding the Soul-Gathering Lamp, then submitting a memorial to the Heavenly Monarch detailing the dangers of the Mystical Mushrooms in Yingzhou and requesting permission to destroy them.

This allowed Ye Hua to retrieve the mushrooms alone, refine the elixir using his own cultivation, and deliver it to her before Die Yong awakened, all while ensuring the Heavenly Monarch believed his injuries were due to battling the beasts. Zhe Yan expressed his admiration for Ye Hua's composed planning, despite his youth, and lamented the complete dissipation of his profound cultivation.

He also confirmed that Ye Hua had hidden the truth to prevent Bai Qian, who disliked owing favors, from refusing the elixir. Although Ye Hua’s arm was crippled, Zhe Yan had fashioned a false arm that might regain spirit over thousands of years. Realizing the full extent of Ye Hua's sacrifice, Bai Qian was restless and only wished to be by his side. Late that night, she quietly entered Ye Hua's sleeping chambers, intending only to watch over him.

Ye Hua, however, sensed her presence and, still maintaining his pretense, asked if Die Yong had suffered a setback. Bai Qian, playing along, replied that Die Yong was fine and her task was complete. She explained she had come to care for Ye Hua, as his injured arm might make simple tasks like holding tea difficult. Ye Hua smiled, patted the bed beside him, and invited her to join him.

Shy, Bai Qian suggested she sleep with Ah Li instead and turned to leave. Ye Hua extinguished the candles and embraced her from behind with his one good arm, whispering that she could push him away if she truly didn't want to be held. Hesitantly, Bai Qian silently held his arm, asking if she could occupy half his bed. Ye Hua chuckled, remarking that with her small build, she wouldn't even take up half.

Later, as Bai Qian huddled in a corner of the bed, Ye Hua playfully pulled the covers over, asking if she preferred to sleep in his embrace or in the corner without covers. Blushing, Bai Qian suggested they both "curl up in a corner" under the covers, a suggestion Ye Hua found charming. In the middle of the night, Ye Hua quietly left the bed, trying to suppress violent coughs outside the chamber.

Bai Qian, feigning sleep, heard his muffled coughing and was overcome with profound sadness. When he returned, she turned, wrapped her arms around his neck, and held him tightly. Meanwhile, in the Wing Realm, Yan Zhi attempted to refine a medicinal pill for Xuan Nü's child, but the process went awry, causing the Ruoshui River to turn red and a red lotus fire to ignite in the sky.

Her second brother intervened, explaining that refining such pills in the Wing Realm defied heavenly will. He told her that only Mo Yuan's Pellet-Cultivating Furnace in Kunlun Void could handle demonic energy, but emphasized the old animosity between their father and Mo Yuan, making it impossible for them to use it. When Yan Zhi insisted on going to Kunlun Void, her brother ordered her confined.

Simultaneously, a guard reported to him that the red river and red clouds signaled the imminent return of the former Winged Monarch, Qing Cang. Elsewhere, two other immortals also discussed these ominous signs, pondering a resurgence of the Wing Realm. Later, Cheng Yu and Ah Li returned from a spiritual assembly, Ah Li proudly carrying a stack of sugar canes for his mother.

Cheng Yu then spotted Lord Lingbao conversing with Emperor Dong Hua and quickly pulled Ah Li aside to hide. Lord Lingbao remarked that all ancient immortals eventually return to chaos after undergoing their tribulations. He then observed that Dong Hua had also completed his tribulation, to which Dong Hua somberly replied that it could be considered a "heartbreaking tribulation." Cheng Yu, shocked by this exchange, resolved to inform Feng Jiu immediately.

Ah Li, confused, asked Cheng Yu what "complying with tribulation" meant. Cheng Yu explained that it was a far more terrifying ordeal than ordinary tribulations, one that few passed, and usually resulted in an immortal's body returning to the "formless mass," essentially meaning death. Ah Li, distraught, worried that the Emperor might die and that his own mother, Bai Qian, being a high goddess, would also face such a tribulation one day.

Cheng Yu comforted him, advising him to cherish his remaining time and honor his mother. Ah Li, spurred by this, decided to return to the Heavenly Palace at once and ask his father to see his mother.
