After Si Yin's departure, Mo Yuan stood by the lotus pond, recalling a moment from his past. He remembered Father God entrusting him with a golden lotus, instructing him to cultivate it with his magic until it could take human form. As Mo Yuan reflected, Xuan Nü happened to pass by. Noticing Mo Yuan, she greeted him respectfully. Mo Yuan simply acknowledged her as Si Yin's friend, and Xuan Nü then took her leave.
Later, Ling Yu came to Mo Yuan, who informed him of an upcoming retreat lasting between ten days and half a month. During this time, Mo Yuan entrusted Si Yin to Ling Yu's care, stressing the importance of ensuring Si Yin completed copying the Chongxu Sutra thirty thousand times. Ling Yu mentioned that Xuan Nü bore a striking resemblance to Si Yin.
Mo Yuan expressed his deep concern about Si Yin's undisciplined nature and lack of cultivation, revealing that her heavenly tribulation of transcension was due in half a month. He feared dire consequences if anything went wrong, emphasizing that Si Yin needed protection until his return. Ling Yu finally understood that Mo Yuan's strict punishment was a pretext to keep Si Yin safe within Kunlun Void.
One day, after finishing the scripture copying, Si Yin's thoughts turned to her second brother's daughter, who was about to be born in Green Hill. Eager to attend the celebration but forbidden to leave Kunlun Void, Si Yin devised a plan. Knowing Ling Yu greatly admired Fox Emperor Bai Zhi and High God Zhe Yan, she tempted him with the prospect of seeing both deities at the little princess's birth.
Si Yin claimed to know a shortcut that would allow them to go and return within half a day. Despite Ling Yu's initial reluctance due to Mo Yuan's orders, Si Yin persisted, arguing that she would find a way to escape regardless, so Ling Yu might as well accompany her to keep an eye on her. Convinced, Ling Yu agreed, and they secretly left Kunlun Void for Green Hill. Their shortcut, however, led them into the Winged Realm's territory.
Ling Yu warned Si Yin that this area was known for its peculiar magic-dampening properties, rendering lesser gods powerless, and only High Gods could move freely. He also mentioned hearing Emperor Donghua and Mo Yuan discuss the Winged Monarch Qingcang's ambition to wage war against the Heavenly Tribe. Suddenly, a group of black-clad men ambushed them, attacking without a word. Stripped of their magical abilities, Si Yin and Ling Yu were forced to fight hand-to-hand.
In the midst of the struggle, a whistle echoed, and to their astonishment, the black-clad attackers abruptly committed suicide. As they tried to flee, more Winged soldiers appeared, led by none other than Winged Monarch Qingcang himself. Alarmed, Si Yin quickly composed herself and introduced herself and Ling Yu as disciples of Zhe Yan, claiming they were guardians of Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms who had accidentally lost their way. She hoped Qingcang would show leniency.
Qingcang, however, had grand ambitions of dominating the Four Seas and Eight Wildernesses and saw the Heavenly Tribesmen as future prisoners. His daughter, Yan Zhi, also expressed admiration for the "pretty" Heavenly Tribesmen. When informed that the rebel soldiers Qingcang was pursuing were already dead, Si Yin explained that they had merely defended themselves from an unprovoked attack. Qingcang ordered his men to take Si Yin and Ling Yu to his Grand Purple Palace as guests.
Inside the opulent Grand Purple Palace, filled with music and beautiful attendants, Qingcang received Si Yin and Ling Yu. He questioned Yan Zhi about her second brother's whereabouts, to which his eldest son cynically remarked on the second prince's preference for mortal entertainment over the palace's many beauties. Qingcang took a liking to Ling Yu and proposed that he become his godson and reside in the palace. Both Si Yin and Ling Yu were stunned.
As Ling Yu struggled to politely decline without provoking Qingcang's wrath, Si Yin intervened on his behalf. However, Qingcang, who had seen Si Yin with Mo Yuan at a past Heavenly Monarch's birthday, exposed their deception, declaring that they were clearly Mo Yuan's disciples from Kunlun Void, not Zhe Yan's. Enraged, he ordered Si Yin and Ling Yu imprisoned separately, threatening Ling Yu with a terrible fate if he refused to become his godson.
Imprisoned and unable to use her magic, Si Yin, truly Bai Qian, the daughter of the Fox Emperor, reflected bitterly on her fate. She lamented that after tens of thousands of years, she was still being captured—first by High Goddess Yao Guang because of her affection for Mo Yuan, and now by the Winged Monarch who desired a godson. She felt like a mere tool in the affairs of others.
Meanwhile, in the Heavenly Realm, the Second Prince returned from the Winged Tribe and reported to the Heavenly Monarch that Qingcang had openly displayed his rebellious intentions, refusing the Heavenly Monarch's annual bounty and rudely sending him away. The Heavenly Monarch was furious.
Donghua, a former ruler of Heaven and Earth, calmly reassured everyone that there was nothing to fear as long as Mo Yuan was around, reminding them that since Mo Yuan had created the world-destroying Donghuang Bell, he would naturally know how to suppress it. The Heavenly Monarch, however, worried about the Donghuang Bell becoming a danger to the Heavenly Tribe and the absence of other chieftains, indicating internal strife.
Star Monarch Si Ming suggested forming a marriage alliance with Green Hill and Zhe Yan to strengthen their position against the Winged Tribe. Simultaneously, back at Kunlun Void, Si Yin and Ling Yu's fellow disciples grew increasingly anxious over their prolonged disappearance. The Eldest Senior Brother initially dismissed their absence as mere mischief, believing Si Yin capable of handling any situation.
However, another disciple reminded him of Si Yin's impending heavenly tribulation of transcension, stressing the grave danger if it struck while they were lost and without Mo Yuan's direct guidance. Recognizing the seriousness, the Eldest Senior Brother instructed the Second Junior Brother to remain and inform Mo Yuan upon his return, while he and the other disciples would commence a search for Si Yin and Ling Yu.
That night, as Si Yin pondered her escape, a black bird flew into her cell. It was sent by Yan Zhi, who explained in a voiceover that the palace guards would be lighter tonight. Yan Zhi instructed Si Yin to follow the bird north to exit the palace, warning that Ling Yu was being held elsewhere by her elder brother.
Si Yin, initially suspicious of a trap, quickly rationalized that as a prisoner, she had nothing to lose and decided to follow the bird. The bird led Si Yin through a deep forest before suddenly vanishing. Just as Si Yin thought she was safe, she discovered Li Jing by a lake. Li Jing, instantly captivated by Si Yin's appearance despite her male disguise, remarked on the beauty of her clothes and requested them as a birthday gift for his father.
Si Yin, being female, naturally refused to remove her garments. When Li Jing attempted to forcibly take the clothes, they both tumbled into the lake during the struggle. Unbeknownst to them, Winged soldiers were searching nearby. In the water, Li Jing saved the struggling Si Yin by transferring oxygen through his palm, avoiding a direct touch. Once ashore, Li Jing realized Si Yin was from the Heavenly Tribe.
When the Winged soldiers reappeared, Li Jing, asserting his authority as the second prince, chastised them and ordered them to leave before taking Si Yin to his personal dwelling. Later, as Li Jing and Si Yin shared drinks, Si Yin, unaccustomed to strong alcohol, became thoroughly inebriated and passed out. Yan Zhi then arrived, gazing at the unconscious Si Yin with clear affection.
Observing his sister's feelings and sensing a kinship with Si Yin, Li Jing promised Yan Zhi that he would personally ensure Si Yin's rescue, stating he wouldn't allow him to perish in the Grand Purple Palace. He revealed that Qingcang's offer to take a godson was merely a pretense for his rebellious ambitions, which Li Jing himself did not support.
Li Jing also mentioned that he had given Si Yin enough alcohol to keep him asleep for ten to fifteen days, giving them ample time to formulate a rescue plan. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to Si Yin, the very event that spurred her escape had unfolded in Green Hill. Her second brother, Bai Yi, had welcomed his daughter into the world. After a ten-day gestation, the little girl was born with a distinctive phoenix-flower-shaped birthmark on her forehead.
Zhe Yan, present at the joyous occasion, named her Bai Fengjiu. The entire fox clan celebrated the birth of the first princess of Green Hill's third generation. The next morning, Si Yin awoke to find two guards sent by Li Jing. They informed him that Li Jing had ordered them to take him to the Soup Pond.
