> Go Go Squid 2 Dt.Appledog's Time Recap
That night, Ai Jing found Shen Zhe swimming alone in the hotel pool and teased him, assuming his intensity was because she had said Wu Bai was more handsome. Shen Zhe dismissed her, saying his mind was on other things. Sensing his conflict, Ai Jing offered some philosophical advice, suggesting that instead of overthinking, he should make the choice that feels most comfortable and happy, as he likely already knew the answer in his heart.
After she left, Shen Zhe's thoughts returned to his dilemma: Wu Bai had tried to recruit him for the K&K team. Wu Bai's pitch was that joining K&K was Shen Zhe's only path to defeating Wang Hao and his team. Shen Zhe remained skeptical, pointing out K&K's lack of players and funds. But Wu Bai was unshakable in his belief, promising to lead him to a championship.
Deep in thought, Shen Zhe plunged back into the water, hoping to find clarity. The following morning, as Wu Bai, 97, and Zhou Yi were about to enter the elevator, Shen Zhe rushed to hold the doors open. He announced his decision to Wu Bai: he would join K&K, but on his own terms. He didn't want the money or the captaincy; he would sign for only one year and would leave if they failed to win the championship.
Wu Bai readily agreed, and 97 celebrated, thrilled that K&K was one step closer to their goal. At the hotel entrance, Wu Bai's group encountered Ai Qing and Ai Jing. Wu Bai offered them a ride, but Ai Qing declined, as her sister had already booked a car. She then asked Wu Bai if he was free after landing, hoping he would join her in visiting their old friend, Slide, who had recently retired and opened a new store.
Ai Qing suggested they all go together, arguing a larger group would make the visit more lively. While Shen Zhe and 97 were hesitant to impose, Zhou Yi volunteered to take everyone's luggage back to the club so the rest could go. Upon arriving at Slide’s store, the old friends shared a warm reunion. Wu Bai immediately asked Slide about his retirement, but Slide playfully evaded the question, suspecting Ai Qing had put him up to it.
Soon, a crowd of fans gathered outside upon spotting Shen Zhe and 97. Seizing the opportunity, Ai Qing suggested an impromptu signing event to boost Slide’s business. She proposed giving free autographs to everyone, regardless of purchase, to dispel any notion that they were exploiting their fame. Despite some hesitation from the others, Wu Bai immediately agreed, stating he would follow Ai Qing's lead.
Amidst the bustling and successful event, Ai Jing nudged her sister, commenting on how handsome Wu Bai was and urging her to seize the opportunity, a sentiment Ai Qing appreciated. As the signing wrapped up, Slide closed his store early, insisting on treating everyone to a celebratory barbecue. At dinner, Wu Bai again pressed Slide about his retirement.
This time, Slide admitted he had left the scene because of a difficult experience in Germany where he struggled to get along with his team. As the night wore on, the group grew increasingly intoxicated. A tipsy Ai Qing fondly recalled her first encounter with Wu Bai in Singapore, vividly describing how he had opened the door to his room without a shirt on. Ai Jing teased Wu Bai and bluntly asked if he liked her sister, flustering him.
Just as he tried to arrange for taxis, Ai Qing pulled him by the hand, insisting he come to her house because his gold medal was still there. Ai Jing then invited everyone, explaining that she and Ai Qing lived together and that Ai Qing had taken out a loan to buy their current home so their father could have a comfortable place to live.
Later, Ai Jing asked Wu Bai if he found her sister pretty, to which he readily affirmed. She praised Ai Qing's deep sense of loyalty but admitted it sometimes caused her hardship, recounting how Ai Qing still felt regret over their former team's disbandment, especially concerning someone named Han. When she couldn't recall the full name, Wu Bai supplied it: Han Shangyan. Ai Jing remarked that it sounded like a "Mary Sue" name for a grown man.
Stepping outside, Wu Bai called his brother, Han Shangyan, to arrange for a car and couldn't resist relaying Ai Jing's comment, much to his brother's annoyance. The car took them to Ai Qing's apartment, where Wu Bai carried the heavily intoxicated Ai Qing upstairs. Inside, they were surprised to find their father awake. After learning they were Ai Qing's friends from the competition, he didn't press further. Ai Jing insisted the boys stay the night due to the late hour.
Wu Bai then carried Shen Zhe and 97 upstairs, while the driver took Slide home. Impressed by Wu Bai's strength, Ai Qing's father decided to return to his own home to give the young people some privacy. After Ai Jing went to shower, she asked Wu Bai to look after Ai Qing. He entered Ai Qing's room and found her complaining about the heat.
As he gently wiped her face, a semi-conscious Ai Qing expressed her joy at his return, calling him a "genius" whose talent would be wasted if he didn't compete. She then confessed that she had secretly yearned to return to the robot combat world for a long time. Just then, Ai Jing returned and shared the immense financial sacrifices Ai Qing had made when she retired to secure a stable job and pay for their apartment.
Listening, Wu Bai looked at the sleeping Ai Qing and softly promised, "If you want to go back, I'll accompany you." Later that night, Wu Bai, sleeping on the sofa, was awakened by Ai Qing calling for water. After helping her drink, she grabbed his collar and asked why he had defeated her three years ago. Wu Bai explained that it wasn't intentional; he simply knew her so well.
She then pressed him on why he had left without saying goodbye. He began to explain that he had gone abroad for surgery, but she fell asleep in his arms before he could finish. The next morning, Ai Qing's father arrived at five AM with breakfast. He insisted Wu Bai join him and began asking about his background and relationship status. Wu Bai shared that he was from Guangzhou, lived in Norway, and had studied computer science.
As he spoke, an internal monologue revealed the depth of his feelings: he had known since he was fifteen that Ai Qing was destined to shine in the world of robot combat. He had spent ten years working to earn the right to stand by her side, so he could finally tell her he had fallen in love with her at first sight.
