At the Asian Robot Combat Exposition, Wu Bai of K&K and Ai Qing of SP attended a summit as guests. They exchanged veiled remarks, deliberately creating confusion for their own teammates. When the host, Rachel, asked which team impressed them the most, Wu Bai named AEO for their revolutionary mainframes and the courage to start anew.
Ai Qing, however, turned the focus to her own team, SP, cheekily noting that Seabreeze’s surprise upgrade in the final must have left K&K curious about its future. She then revealed that K&K had, in fact, helped SP win by providing an initial plan to address Seabreeze's weakness, which her team then perfected. Wu Bai feigned annoyance at her jab.
As they discussed their current progress, Ai Qing downplayed K&K’s technical advancements, claiming they had merely refined a control chip while SP was upgrading its entire system. Wu Bai countered, asserting that K&K still held the advantage in software upgrades. After the summit, both leaders strategized with their teams. Wu Bai deduced that SP, with their defensive style, would seek new materials to further enhance Seabreeze’s defense. He immediately arranged a meeting with Professor Chen, a materials expert.
Meanwhile, Ai Qing concluded that the aggressive K&K would prioritize their weapon system. Her teammate Slide suggested they'd focus on artificial intelligence, which led Tao Qitao to worry that K&K might seek out Professor Zhang Yiming, a leading AI expert. Ai Qing promptly scheduled a meeting with Professor Zhang for the next day. In the K&K club, 97 confirmed their 10 AM meeting with Professor Chen, determined not to let SP get ahead.
The next day on campus, Wu Bai and 97 spotted Ai Qing and Slide. Both pairs quickly hid. Realizing they were there for the same purpose, Ai Qing told Slide to proceed with the meeting while she delayed Wu Bai, with Slide advising her to use her charm. Deducing her plan, Wu Bai instructed 97 to do the same while he handled Ai Qing. They then pretended to run into each other.
Ai Qing playfully accused him of meeting another girl, which he denied. Following Slide's advice, she complained of hunger and coaxed Wu Bai into taking her to the campus canteen. At the canteen, Wu Bai, fully aware of her stalling tactic, ordered every dish Ai Qing considered to prolong their meal. Ai Qing was pleased, as this bought her team more time. Soon, both received texts from 97 and Slide confirming their respective meetings were underway successfully.
After eating, Ai Qing asked if Wu Bai was angry that she had tricked him to win the championship. He said he wasn't, because it was a competition, and even outside the arena, he wouldn't be angry, because it was her. As they spoke, Ai Qing saw Slide appear behind Wu Bai and signaled him to leave. To hide Slide's retreat, she suddenly embraced Wu Bai. Just as she released him, Wu Bai spotted 97 waving from a distance.
He immediately pulled Ai Qing back into a hug, signaling his teammate to wait, telling a puzzled Ai Qing that he just wanted to hug her a little longer. Back at their respective clubs, both teams realized their mistake. Ai Qing learned from Wang Hao that K&K had signed a deal with Jiaodong University's Professor Chen, an expert in aerospace materials, not the AI Professor Zhang.
At the same time, Wu Bai saw the news of SP's collaboration and understood that their true target was artificial intelligence. Shen Zhe teased them, comparing their strategic maneuvers to ancient tactics like Tian Ji's horse race and a honey-trap, joking that they were performing Sun Tzu's "The Art of War." As Wu Bai and his team went to meet Professor Chen, they ran into Ai Qing's team on campus. After a brief, playful exchange, they parted ways.
At the lab, they were greeted by Tong Nian, a student who had helped arrange the meeting. The K&K members warmly called her "sister-in-law," to her shy amusement. Before entering the lab, Tong Nian privately confided in Wu Bai that Han Shangyan had proposed, but she had rejected him because she wasn't ready and now worried he was discouraged.
Wu Bai reassured her, joking that no one else could tolerate his brother's temper and encouraging her to visit the club often. In another classroom, Ai Qing’s team was surprised when their substitute lecturer turned out to be Tong Nian. After the class, Tong Nian told Ai Qing how much Wu Bai had changed, describing the once "permanent ice mountain" as finally beginning to "melt," whispering details that made Ai Qing's eyes widen.
Later, Wu Bai and Ai Qing strolled by the campus lake. Ai Qing asked about the rumor of his blind date with Tong Nian. Wu Bai explained it was a misunderstanding orchestrated by his grandfather and that he had clarified to him that Tong Nian was Han Shangyan's girlfriend. Seeing a young man give his girlfriend a piggyback ride, Ai Qing wistfully commented on their youth.
Wu Bai promptly lifted her onto his back and ran happily, both of them laughing. Meanwhile, Shen Zhe found 97 and Zhou Yi being used as panda mascots for a basketball cheerleading squad. He filmed their overheated, clumsy dancing and later showed the hilarious video to Wu Bai and Mi. When 97 and Zhou Yi returned and found Shen Zhe about to post the video online, they tackled him to make him delete it.
With their robots upgraded, both K&K and SP intensified their training for the upcoming ARCT. Their distinct styles became more defined: SP, a "dark ocean" that silently overwhelms opponents, and K&K, a "shining sword" favoring swift, decisive attacks. After a long day of training, Wu Bai received a dinner invitation from Ai Qing's father, which he gladly accepted, brushing off Shen Zhe's hints to be brought along to meet his own potential "father-in-law."
As they prepared for the championship, Ai Qing reflected that while Wu Bai had once been her shield, it was now her turn to lead her knight and protect him on their shared path.
