Following up on their romantic getaway, Ai Qing returns to her team just as 97 and Zhou Yi challenge the SP team to a friendly shooting competition. When Ou Qiang and Lin Yin struggle, they call on their former sharpshooter, Mi, to join. However, Mi has been in a poor state since his loss in Chicago; his hands tremble with nervousness, leading to surprisingly low scores.
Ai Qing, having left earlier, calls and tells the teams to gather in two hours for their return to Shanghai. Shen Zhe attempts to reach Ai Jing by phone, but she doesn't answer. After learning from a colleague at her drama club that she had stepped out, he goes to a nearby convenience store. Seeing strawberry-flavored soda, he is reminded of their first meeting and buys the store's entire stock.
Later, Ai Jing returns to the drama club, surprised to find numerous bottles of the soda arranged on a table. Shen Zhe is sitting at a piano, playing a melody. He offers her a bottle, and her frustration melts away. She teasingly calls him silly, to which he responds that falling in love with her was the silliest thing he had ever done. Back in Shanghai, Mi dedicates himself to rigorous training.
Meanwhile, Wang Hao faces pressure from the headquarters, which is concerned over SP China's performance and the risk of losing their top point ranking. Citing poor training reports, headquarters issues a transfer order to move Mi to the second team as captain. Ai Qing strongly opposes this last-minute change. She and Wang Hao argue Mi's case to Bao Na, with Ai Qing declaring that if Mi's performance is unsatisfactory in the upcoming Shanghai competition, she will resign.
Convinced by their determination, Bao Na agrees to give the team one last chance. Ai Qing immediately drafts a detailed training plan for Mi and instructs Slide to upgrade his robot. Mi accepts, vowing not to let them down. During a K&K team meeting, Su Cheng arrives with cold medicine, mentioning that some people who attended a recent meeting with the SP team had caught colds. Wu Bai messages Ai Qing, inviting her to dinner.
When Shen Zhe asks about Ai Qing, Su Cheng confirms she is fine and mentions seeing her deliver medicine to Wang Hao. Soon after, Wu Bai receives a text from Ai Qing saying she has to work overtime. His mood sours, and he orders an extra training session. Shen Zhe correctly guesses Wu Bai is jealous and teases him about it.
Wu Bai dismisses it as tactical thinking, prompting Shen Zhe to retort that Wu Bai should lead by example and set aside romantic thoughts during training. That evening, Wu Bai messages Ai Qing after she gets home. They lament not having seen each other in two days. Ai Qing is hesitant to meet, worried about interfering with his training and needing to resolve Mi's situation. Wu Bai offers to pick her up from work the next day, and she agrees.
Elsewhere, inspired by fans creating a "98" group name for them (97 plus one), 97 and Zhou Yi decide to do a livestream. Zhou Yi enthusiastically promotes his mother's "Zhou's Farm" organic produce and accidentally spills watermelon juice on 97's shirt, a limited edition he had borrowed from Shen Zhe. When the stain won't come out, Zhou Yi's mother embroiders a flower over it.
Upon seeing the altered garment, Shen Zhe is furious and drags 97 away to settle the score. The next day, both Wu Bai and Ai Qing are pleased to see Mi's improved state during training. However, just as Wu Bai is leaving to pick Ai Qing up, she messages to say she will be late due to an important last-minute meeting.
Wu Bai goes to a central park to wait, buying a hazelnut-latte-flavored ice cream, a new spring flavor she likes. He sends her a photo, but her phone is on silent, and she doesn't see it or his subsequent calls. As the ice cream melts, Wu Bai buys another, and then another, purchasing four in total as the seller cautions him about eating too much cold food. As darkness falls, he waits on a swing.
Meanwhile, Wang Hao brings dinner to Ai Qing and her team at the office and posts a photo of them working on his social media. Wu Bai sees the post, his wait ending in disappointment.
