During the spiritual ball game, Su Youlian demonstrated exceptional skill by using her spiritual power to cushion the force of the spiritual ball, flawlessly maneuvering it to score a point. Her impressive abilities caught Li Xuan's attention. As Su Youlian was on the verge of securing victory, Cui Pianran covertly approached her and injected a poisonous pin into her body. Despite the excruciating pain, Su Youlian bravely expelled the pin, winning the final point.

However, the expelled pin inadvertently grazed Cui Pianran's face, causing an injury. The onlookers immediately accused Su Youlian of foul play, and Li Xuan, questioning her integrity, refused to hand over the winner's token. Unwilling to concede, Su Youlian pursued Li Xuan, demanding the token. During their heated exchange, Su Youlian coughed up blood, revealing the severity of her internal injury from the poisonous pin.

Realizing she had been poisoned, Li Xuan became concerned and offered to find a doctor for her, but Su Youlian, dismissive of his newfound care, refused his help, telling him to care for Cui Pianran instead. At that moment, Cui Pianran appeared and struck Su Youlian, sending her falling into the Mirror Moon Lake. Li Xuan immediately leaped into the water after her.

In the treacherous waters, a powerful vortex engulfed them, and Li Xuan held Su Youlian close, shielding her from the perilous conditions. Meanwhile, Yu Fengmu and Changqing, along with others, plunged into the lake in search of them, but the two remained elusive. On the surface, anxiety mounted.

The Mentor in Chief, observing the tranquil lake, grimly surmised that Li Xuan and Su Youlian had likely fallen into the Bloody Icebound Ward, one of the most perilous secret realms within the academy. He stated that whether they could emerge depended entirely on their own destiny. Li Xuan and Su Youlian found themselves in a vast, cold, and snowy landscape within the secret realm, where they struggled to support each other.

Su Youlian was still suffering from the poison, and Li Xuan was also badly wounded. They eventually found refuge in a cave, leaning on each other for warmth and sleep. Upon waking, they discovered they were no longer in the snowy expanse but in front of a house, bathed in the warmth of spring.

A white-haired Elder was preparing a large pot, intending to cook them, declaring them a delicious gift from the heavens after hundreds of years of solitary existence in the secret realm. Witnessing the Elder's intent to cook Su Youlian, Li Xuan desperately tried to persuade him otherwise. He even resorted to threatening Wangcai, the Elder's beloved dog, by dangling it over the bubbling pot. This compelled the Elder to agree not to eat them.

Although the Elder released Su Youlian, she was still gravely ill, having been afflicted with Heart-breaking Powder. Realizing the Elder was the legendary, all-knowing Elder of the Book of Heaven, Li Xuan cunningly used a taunting strategy to provoke the Elder into agreeing to cure Su Youlian, challenging his proclaimed wisdom. After Su Youlian was detoxified, Li Xuan immediately rushed to her side.

The Elder, however, cautioned Li Xuan not to touch her with his bare hands, so Li Xuan carefully wiped Su Youlian's face with a handkerchief and gently covered her with a blanket. Back at the academy, the Crown Prince learned of Li Xuan's dire situation in the secret realm. Seizing the opportunity, he arrived at the academy to revel in the misfortune, cruelly mocking Changqing and others.

He declared Li Xuan a wicked person, suggesting his disappearance was divine retribution, and dismissed Changqing as Li Xuan's useless "dog" now that his "master" was gone. Changqing, though angered by the insults, remained steadfast in his loyalty to Li Xuan. Ten hours later, Su Youlian weakly awoke. Concerned about her hunger, Li Xuan went to the kitchen to prepare food for her.

The Elder of the Book of Heaven, having lived alone in the secret realm for centuries, had not tasted human food in a long time. Drawn by the aroma of Li Xuan's cooking, he promptly appeared in the kitchen and, without a word, devoured all the food Li Xuan had prepared for Su Youlian.
