Dance of the Sky Empire Episode 10 Recap
> Dance of the Sky Empire Recap
Li Xuan grew increasingly agitated by the attention surrounding Su Youlian and Yu Fengmu, feeling annoyed and wishing to leave his class. His disrespectful attitude angered Mentor Xie, who was lecturing on how to deal with the Kunwu clan. When Li Xuan dismissively stated that the Kunwu clan was nothing to be afraid of, Mentor Xie, reminding him of his duty as Nation-protecting Master, immediately ordered him to guard the city gate.
He was commanded not to let any Kunwu fugitives or their accomplices escape, an assignment extended to other students who had been stirring up trouble. Meanwhile, Yu Fengmu was helping Su Youlian transport Kunwu clan members out of the city. Their plan was to hide the clan members within a wagon train heading to Yaohui City. However, Su Youlian worried because Li Xuan was on duty at the city gate.
At the gate, Li Xuan, bored with his assignment, performed a perfunctory check of Yu Fengmu's carriages and was about to clear them. However, Cui Pianran intervened, criticizing the guard for his lax inspection and halting Yu Fengmu's carriage to demand a thorough search. When Scarred Head attempted to block her, Cui Pianran noticed movement within one of the boxes. As she pressed forward, a sword appeared, blocking her path.
Li Xuan quickly stepped in, shielding Cui Pianran from the blade. Cui Pianran then declared her intention to melt the sword, but Su Youlian interjected, asserting that the sword was hers. Irritated, Cui Pianran vehemently insisted on searching all the wagons, including Yu Fengmu's personal carriage. Knowing the Kunwu people were hidden inside, Li Xuan asserted his authority as Nation-protecting Master and took it upon himself to conduct the search.
He initially dismissed a sound from the carriage as a cat, but when another noise was heard, he re-entered for a second inspection. This time, Li Xuan emerged and, despite knowing the truth, told Yu Fengmu he found nothing amiss. Subtly hinting at his awareness by asking if they were hurrying to a "date," he ordered the guards to clear the way for their departure.
Later that night, as Li Xuan played his instrument in the courtyard, he reflected on the day's events. He acknowledged that he had discovered the Kunwu people hidden in the carriage, but upon seeing their frightened and harmless appearance, he had chosen to let them go. Princess Yunshan, who had fled to Tianqi to escape an arranged marriage with the ugly General Wu De, dreamed of marrying a great hero like her brother.
When envisioning such a hero, she surprisingly found herself thinking of Xiao Fengming, a "nerd" she quickly tried to dismiss from her mind. Shortly after, Yunshan received an invitation from Yu Min, the son of the Tianqi Princess and Duke Yu. Upon meeting him, she found him to be a lecherous individual. To deter his advances, Yunshan called Xiao Fengming over, introducing him as a suitor who had previously confessed his feelings for her.
She praised Xiao Fengming, highlighting his heroic deed of defeating the Kylin and his handsome appearance, asserting that only such a distinguished hero was worthy of her. After the humiliated Yu Min departed, Xiao Fengming, known for his upright character, chided Yunshan for using him to belittle others. Subsequent gossip about their supposed relationship spread throughout the academy. To clear his name, Xiao Fengming emphatically swore that he would never like Princess Yunshan.
Unbeknownst to him, Yunshan arrived just as he made this declaration. Hearing his words, she was visibly upset and left, leaving Xiao Fengming with a crestfallen expression. In Mentor Xie's spiritual power class, Li Xuan, bored by the lesson on controlling objects with spiritual power, proposed a Spiritual Ball Match. The winning team would earn a half-day's rest, while the losers would clean the entire academy. The idea was met with enthusiasm, and Mentor Xie agreed.
Later, Li Xuan approached Su Youlian, offering her the No.1 Token if her team won the match, with the condition that she could not team up with Yu Fengmu. The Spiritual Ball Match commenced with two teams of six, a spiritual ward, and a rotating goal. Li Xuan's team quickly scored the first point, after which one of Su Youlian's teammates apologized for holding them back.
Yunshan advised Su Youlian to be forceful with the ball, as it "bullies the weak and fears the strong," but Su Youlian still found it difficult to manipulate. Determined to win the token, she exerted immense effort, but the ball resisted fiercely, sending her tumbling to the ground and injuring her leg. Witnessing her fall, a concerned and angry Li Xuan immediately called a timeout and rushed to her aid.
He explained that the spiritual ball was Lord Zi's treasure, making it exceptionally difficult to control. Despite her injury and Li Xuan's pleas for her to withdraw, Su Youlian stubbornly refused to give up. Through sheer persistence, she began to understand the key to controlling the spiritual ball, realizing she needed to use her spiritual power to buffer its inherent resistance.
