After returning from their honeymoon, the young couple liked Donghai even more. As soon as they entered the house, Liu Jun packed his luggage. Although Cui Bingbing tiredly complained about their different living habits, they had one thing in common: both were completely focused on work. Immediately after, Liu Jun personally went to see Song Yunhui and learned that he was going to introduce him to An Xinhua from Beiyuan Group, a state-owned enterprise in Northeast China.

The other party was willing to invest in joint development and share technology. It was precisely because Song Yunhui served as the guide that Liu Jun carefully prepared the materials and went to Beijing with him to meet An Xinhua, successfully finalizing the cooperation intention. After An Xinhua finished visiting the factory and left, Song Yunhui reminded Liu Jun that An Xinhua was not the same type of person as him.

Therefore, while cooperating with An Xinhua was fine, he should not get too deeply involved in personal relationships. Song Yunhui's words made Liu Jun fall into deep thought; he couldn't quite grasp his meaning. As he always focused on practical matters and was not good at social niceties, he eventually, at Cui Bingbing's suggestion, spent tens of thousands of yuan to prepare a watch as a "gift" for An Xinhua.

However, after they met, An Xinhua politely refused the watch, stating that he was very optimistic about Tengfei, and still signed the contract. In the afternoon, Liu Jun accompanied An Xinhua to play golf. During their casual chat, he learned that An Xinhua had a son who, due to poor academic performance, was sent to Australia for study after junior high school.

An Xinhua helplessly expressed that he was too busy with work and neglected his family, seemingly managing such a large group, but in reality, earning a fixed, meager salary. When Liu Jun returned to Donghai, he quickly received the first installment of funds. He also subtly learned about Beiyuan Group's losses and had concerns in his heart. Qian Hongming and his wife once again brought their daughter to visit Fu Qiufang.

Similarly, Qian Hongming, using "education expenses" as a reason, arranged a pension insurance for her. Fu Qiufang, unaware of the truth, was deeply moved and wept tears of joy; the couple were both touched by the sight. Meanwhile, Qian Hongying persuaded Liu Shitang to buy a house in Shanghai, acquiring property to preserve its value. Liu Shitang was instantly convinced and prepared to use this house as a retirement home for the two of them.

Not long after, Cui Bingbing became pregnant. Liu Jun bought her steamed buns late at night, but after only a few bites, the power went out again. Due to frequent power outages and restrictions, factory owners nearby came one after another to the camp committee to find Director Xu, complaining incessantly.

Director Xu could understand everyone's difficulties, but the power shortage had many reasons, mainly including drought conditions leading to urgent reservoir capacity, a significant decrease in local hydropower generation; secondly, national control over small coal mines led to reduced power coal production, leaving thermal power plants with no fuel; and finally, environmental reasons caused the Donghai Third Power Plant to shut down for renovation, compounded by severe overload at the local substation, making improvement difficult within a few years.

Considering that future power cuts and restrictions would remain common, Liu Jun arranged for immediate bulk orders of generators, willing to spend heavily to ensure they were delivered to the factory as quickly as possible. After Liu Shitang learned about this situation, he guaranteed he would solve the problem for his son. He then bribed employees of Huayue Diesel Engine Factory, learning from them that a batch of goods was about to leave the factory.

For this, Liu Shitang found the person in charge and, through persistent efforts, finally secured this batch of generators, temporarily solving Tengfei's urgent needs. However, while the factory's problem was solved, the frequent power outages at home, which left his wife enduring darkness and cold, filled Liu Jun with deep guilt. Cui Bingbing suggested moving back to the city center; although her family's house was small, it had convenient transportation and a good environment.

Liu Jun, thinking of the gap between himself and Qian Hongming, felt even deeper guilt towards Cui Bingbing. Cui Bingbing didn't mind at all; instead, she comforted Liu Jun, telling him she knew he was stronger than Qian Hongming. Time advanced to 2005. Beiyuan's economic situation was still not good. Liu Jun came to Beiyuan Group to participate in an exchange meeting; all departments eagerly hoped for Tengfei to produce goods.

An Xinhua knew that scientific research was not easy and was willing to give Liu Jun more time, as long as the product quality was guaranteed. Liu Jun was very grateful.
