A fire suddenly erupted in the West Hall, where Rong Dingkun resided. Upon hearing the news, Mrs. Rong immediately brought the entire family to the scene. The housekeeper confirmed that Rong Dingkun had already been rescued and safely relocated to the main house. Rong Dingkun promptly made a phone call, asking Shiori Hashimoto for a favor. He promised to fulfill any wish if the task was completed successfully, striking a quick agreement with her.

Rong Jiashang, learning of the fire, rushed home to check on his father. He found Rong Dingkun on the phone, who quickly claimed to be calling the fire department. Skeptical, Rong Jiashang ordered his father to be settled in his bedroom, restricting all contact with the outside world. He warned Rong Dingkun against any rash actions.

In response, Rong Dingkun defiantly stated that Rong Jiashang didn't understand how far a person would go to protect his family, vowing to destroy anyone who tried to ruin his family. Meanwhile, Feng Shizhen went to the tailor shop to pick up her clothes, only to be ambushed and kidnapped as she entered. Wen, who was waiting, grew concerned when Feng Shizhen didn't reappear. He went into the shop, learned she had been abducted, and immediately drove off in pursuit.

Thinking quickly, Feng Shizhen feigned discomfort and asked to open the window, discreetly dropping her earring onto the ground. As the car rounded a corner, she threw out her brooch as another clue. Wen quickly located Feng Shizhen's discarded earring and brooch, continuing his chase. Meng Xu'an was informed of Feng Shizhen's abduction and immediately suspected Rong Dingkun. He gathered his men and headed straight to the Rong residence.

When Feng Shizhen was confined, Shiori Hashimoto soon arrived, threatening to kill Feng Shizhen to reunite with Rong Jiashang. Feng Shizhen advised her to give up hope, infuriating Shiori Hashimoto, who then vowed to disfigure Feng Shizhen's face. Shiori Hashimoto asserted that Feng Shizhen was merely a "poor governess who's good at stealing men," while Feng Shizhen retorted that her connection with Rong Jiashang was one of mutual attraction, and called Shiori Hashimoto naive for believing Rong Dingkun's promises.

Feng Shizhen pointed out that Rong Jiashang, even when his father was healthy, never took his orders, so he would not listen to a "paralyzed old man" now. She concluded that Shiori Hashimoto only cared about Rong Jiashang's status and wealth, not him as a person. Meng Xu'an and his men stormed into the Rong family compound, demanding Feng Shizhen's whereabouts from Rong Dingkun. Rong Dingkun refused to cooperate.

Rong Jiashang knelt, pleading with his father, who simply sneered, stating it was "too late" and that they would "never see her again." Rong Dingkun even challenged Rong Jiashang, asking if he would stand by while an outsider pointed a gun at his father. Meng Xu'an, after learning that Wen had located the car, quickly led his men away to search for Feng Shizhen, with Rong Jiashang following suit, leaving Rong Dingkun to chuckle to himself.

Inside the abandoned building, Shiori Hashimoto lunged at Feng Shizhen with a dagger, but Feng Shizhen kicked her away. Enraged, Shiori Hashimoto scrambled up and rushed at Feng Shizhen again, attempting to choke her. Fortunately, Wen arrived just in time to intervene. The surrounding thugs then swarmed Wen. As Wen fought them off, Feng Shizhen used the dropped dagger to cut her restraints and joined the fight. Wen, increasingly overwhelmed and severely injured, eventually collapsed, barely clinging to life.

As Shiori Hashimoto regained consciousness, she pulled out a gun and aimed it at Feng Shizhen. At that critical moment, Rong Jiashang rushed in and shielded Feng Shizhen, taking the bullet. Meng Xu'an followed close behind and shot Shiori Hashimoto, injuring her leg. Feng Shizhen hurried to Wen's side and discovered a longevity lock engraved with the character "Zhen" around his neck.

Overjoyed and shocked, Feng Shizhen recognized it as the matching lock to her own, realizing Wen was her long-lost younger brother, Li. Wen, suffering from severe blood loss, fainted and was immediately dispatched to the hospital by Meng Xu'an's men. After an intense effort by the medical staff, Wen was out of critical danger, but remained in a coma due to extensive blood loss and brain hypoxia.

Feng Shizhen stayed by his side, asking Meng Xu'an about Wen's life over the years. Meng Xu'an recounted finding Wen as a clever, quick-witted street orphan years ago and taking him in. Feng Shixun arrived, and Meng Xu'an, to protect Feng Shizhen, falsely claimed Wen's injuries were due to business conflicts with "gangsters." Still concerned, Feng Shixun pulled Feng Shizhen aside, warning her to keep her distance from Meng Xu'an.

Feng Shizhen then revealed that Wen was their biological younger brother, Li, and Feng Shixun shared her joy. Meanwhile, Shiori Hashimoto's leg injury had damaged her tendons, and the doctor informed Hashimoto Shozo that it was beyond recovery, resulting in a lifelong disability. Shiori Hashimoto reacted with an angry outburst, yelling at the doctor, who Hashimoto Shozo quickly ushered away. He then severely reprimanded Shiori Hashimoto for her disgraceful actions.

Rong Jiashang subsequently arrived to visit Shiori Hashimoto, prompting Hashimoto Shozo and his wife to discretely leave the room. Shiori Hashimoto tried to explain that Rong Dingkun had forced her to kidnap Feng Shizhen. Rong Jiashang, however, made it clear that they could never be together.

He revealed that he had overheard Shiori Hashimoto and her mother discussing him in Chongqing, realizing that Shiori Hashimoto never genuinely loved him but was merely "playing him" while seeking a wealthy and powerful husband. Shiori Hashimoto, filled with regret, struggled to get up and beg for his forgiveness, but Rong Jiashang angrily left. On his way out, he handed a medicine box, which he had found at the auction, to Mrs. Hashimoto, who was waiting in the corridor.

Seeing the two remaining pills inside, Mrs. Hashimoto recalled the day of the auction and realized that Shiori Hashimoto had intentionally withheld the life-saving medicine from Hashimoto Taiichi, leading to his fatal relapse. Hashimoto Shozo, having discussed the truth with his wife, decided to marry Shiori Hashimoto off to Colonel Matsuda. Shiori Hashimoto vehemently objected, but Hashimoto Shozo's decision was final.

She desperately pleaded with her mother for help, but Mrs. Hashimoto coldly exposed Shiori Hashimoto's deception and murder of Hashimoto Taiichi. Shiori Hashimoto was stunned into silence, realizing her mother's intent for her to suffer worse than death. Mrs. Hashimoto commanded her guards to ensure Shiori Hashimoto lived until her marriage to Matsuda, threatening them with severe consequences if anything happened to her.

Elsewhere, Feng Shixun was attending a meeting with progressive youths from the newspaper when police officers suddenly burst in and arrested everyone. Feng Shizhen learned of her brother's arrest and immediately went to the police station. She was informed that Feng Shixun and the others had been sent to Tilanqiao Prison, and that their case was highly confidential, with superiors handling the interrogations. The officer subtly implied that Feng Shixun's fate looked grim.

Distraught, Feng Shizhen went late at night to seek help from Xiao Baoli, hoping to arrange a visit to Feng Shixun. Xiao Baoli, acknowledging the sudden shift in the political climate, advised her to go home and wait for news, promising to leverage her contacts in the police department to gather information.
