Lang Yuexuan questioned Long Mohua about who approached Gu Haitang's makeup box. Mohua, attempting to conceal her panic, denied entering the dressing room or seeing anyone else. Yuexuan, sensing she was hiding something, pressed her, appealing to her friendship with Gu Haitang, but Mohua remained silent and dismissed him. Meanwhile, Gu Xiahe, posing as Yi Rongrong's distant cousin, secretly entered her hospital room where Yi Rongrong lay in a coma.
He tried to ask the attending doctor about the cause of her illness, but the doctor, alert and wary, refused to disclose any information, especially concerning allergies. Unable to get answers, Gu Xiahe and Lang Qingqing decided to find other methods. They tracked the doctor, observing him with a prostitute named Lou Yifeng while shopping, and then followed Lou Yifeng as she surreptitiously entered the Shi family's back door.
They reported their findings to Lang Yuexuan and Gu Haitang, who understood the Shi family's involvement but felt a crucial link was missing. Lang Qingqing then used money to persuade Lou Yifeng, who revealed she had sold information about Yi Rongrong's allergy to daffodil bulb juice to the Shi family.
