> Blossom in Heart Recap

Lang Yuexuan goes to the Long residence in search of Gu Haitang. Long Deshui, believing Lang Yuexuan to be pretentious, lectures him about love and attempts to set him up with Long Mohua. Lang Yuexuan, however, is only interested in Gu Haitang's whereabouts, which Long Deshui feigns ignorance about. When Long Mohua arrives, she also claims not to know where Gu Haitang is, though Lang Yuexuan suspects she is hiding her.

He then asks Long Mohua to relay a message to Gu Haitang, stating that his elder brother, Lang Yueming, is ill and hopes she will return home to visit. Long Mohua agrees, and Lang Yuexuan, concluding Gu Haitang is indeed at the Long residence, leaves. Gu Haitang learns of Lang Yuexuan's visit and his message about Lang Yueming's illness.

She decides to return to the Lang family, believing that merely hiding will not change her fate, and she intends to settle things and change her destiny through her own abilities. Long Mohua reluctantly agrees to let her go. After leaving the Long residence, Gu Haitang goes to a rapeseed flower garden (or flower field) where she and Lang Yuexuan used to visit. She rides her bike to a cliff.

Lang Yuexuan arrives, urges her not to do anything extreme, and immediately apologizes. Gu Haitang asks if everything he did for her was because of his brother. Lang Yuexuan, thinking of Lang Yueming's critical condition (refusing to eat or drink due to illness), tells her it was all for Lang Yueming and begs her to return to see his brother and save his life, promising lifelong compensation.

Gu Haitang agrees to return, but only on the condition of divorcing Lang Yueming (or to seek a letter of divorce). Upon Gu Haitang's return, Lang Yueming's spirits improve considerably. Lang Sinian is greatly relieved and returns from the workshop to speak with Feng Chunyan. He instructs her to treat Gu Haitang well and to find a way to train her, hoping to utilize Gu Haitang's skills for the family business, Lang Li Chun.

Miaolan, overhearing this, develops jealousy towards Gu Haitang. Lang Sinian unexpectedly sees Feng Chunyan wearing a hairpin on her head and becomes enraged, scolding her severely and forbidding her from ever wearing hairpins again. Feng Chunyan attributes this to Miaolan, believing she deliberately put the hairpin on her to provoke Lang Sinian, and furiously declares that Gu Haitang will comb her hair from tomorrow onwards. Miaolan is confused about Lang Sinian's aversion to Feng Chunyan wearing hairpins.

Feng Chunyan herself is troubled, recalling a past incident: she had rushed home and encountered Lang Sinian, fabricating a story about being chased by a mad dog and losing her hairpin. She distinctly remembers Lang Sinian banning her from wearing hairpins from that day forward, and she now fears he might know the truth about what happened then. Lang Sinian later visits Lang Yueming in the attic, noting his improved spirits.

Lang Yueming asks his father how to win Gu Haitang's unwavering affection. Lang Sinian advises that a man must first be able to protect his woman and demonstrate true sincerity, encouraging Lang Yueming to be strong and overcome his psychological struggles, which boosts Lang Yueming's confidence significantly. Meanwhile, Lang Qingqing, concerned, brings food to Lang Yueming, but he refuses to see her. Heartbroken, she leaves the food outside his door.

Gu Xiahe learns from Long Mohua that Gu Haitang has returned to the Lang family. He immediately comes to the Lang residence and causes a scene at the gate, insisting on taking her home. Gu Haitang explains that she returned to secure Lang Yueming's letter of divorce so she can legitimately leave the Lang family and return to her previous life with dignity. Gu Xiahe then leaves, reassured.

Meanwhile, at the Long residence, Long Mohua asks Long Deshui's favorite concubine to do her makeup, but the concubine intentionally makes her look unrecognizable, causing Long Mohua to become furious. Long Deshui intervenes, first calming his concubine, then appeasing Long Mohua by offering her a valuable pearl necklace in the concubine's name, though Long Mohua remains ungrateful. Miaolan brings Gu Haitang silver ear lotus seed soup late at night.

Gu Haitang, touched, openly expresses her intention to leave the Lang family and suggests Miaolan escape with her. Miaolan, who has lived in the Lang residence since childhood and is accustomed to a life of luxury without any special skills, fears she would be destitute if she left, and thus cannot leave. Gu Haitang does not press the matter, and Miaolan informs her that she is scheduled to comb Feng Chunyan's hair the next day.

Gu Haitang arrives early to comb Feng Chunyan's hair. Feng Chunyan advises her not to harbor resentment towards the Lang family and, noticing Gu Haitang's unhappy expression, hopes she will not be emotional and will dutifully act as the young mistress. Gu Haitang responds that she is neither emotional nor angry, but refrains from calling Feng Chunyan "mother." Gu Haitang's distant demeanor pains Feng Chunyan, who begins to recall distressing past events.

She reveals that her son, Lang Yueming, was once handsome but was disfigured by an incident. She also recounts the story of her second son, Lang Yueyuan, who was gravely ill shortly after birth; despite marrying Miaolan to him for good fortune, his life could not be saved. Feng Chunyan was devastated by Lang Yueyuan's death and often visited his grave.

On one occasion, returning home, she heard a child crying, mistook it for Lang Yueyuan's voice, and insisted on investigating. She found an unknown, crying child who could not state his name or age. Feeling pity, Feng Chunyan persuaded Lang Sinian to take him in, and that child was Lang Yuexuan.

Feng Chunyan expresses a wish that Lang Yueming's facial scar was hers instead, becoming tearful as she emphasizes Lang Yueming's good nature and pleads with Gu Haitang to stay, believing that given time, Gu Haitang will come to understand Lang Yueming's true feelings. Gu Haitang, unwilling to conceal her true intentions, acknowledges her understanding and forgiveness but asserts that love cannot be forced.

She admits she returned solely for a letter of divorce but promises to wait until Lang Yueming's condition improves before raising the matter. Gu Haitang asks how Lang Yueming's face was burned, to which Feng Chunyan claims only Lang Yuexuan and Lang Yueming know the full details. Upon hearing Gu Haitang's unwavering stance, Feng Chunyan's expression changes, and she dismisses her. In a separate development, Long Deshui holds control over Kunyang's docks and waterways.

Shi Jizhou, aiming for influence, instructs his son, Shi Diwen, to court Long Mohua. However, Shi Diwen, who fears and dislikes Long Mohua, is too hesitant to approach her, much to his father's exasperation. Later, Shi Diwen asks Lang Yuexuan to arrange a meeting with Long Mohua, which she enthusiastically attends. Shi Diwen directly confesses his feelings, but Long Mohua decisively rejects him.

Shi Diwen then asks Lang Yuexuan to confirm that he did pursue Long Mohua but was unsuccessful, allowing him to concede defeat. Long Mohua then insists that Lang Yuexuan take her to see a play, but Lang Yuexuan is preoccupied. Shi Diwen teases Lang Yuexuan about still thinking of Gu Haitang, and Long Mohua chides Lang Yuexuan for not understanding a woman's heart.
