Yang Jiaqian continued to communicate with Justin, who was posing as his agent Ms. Dan. As a devoted fan, Yang Jiaqian was determined to secure resources for Justin. She had already managed to get artist Feng to appear on a show. However, Feng was stubborn and unwilling to follow the program's usual format, which required him to sing. Yang Jiaqian proposed an alternative: an instrument performance.
To secure a suona for Feng, she traveled all over the city, which forced her to cancel a dinner with her mother. She had not yet revealed the truth about her postgraduate entrance exam to her mother, instead fearfully maintaining the lie that she was interning at a newspaper office. At her company, Xia Langlang still encountered Mai Meng, and the awkward atmosphere between them persisted.
Unexpectedly, Mr. Zhang called Xia Langlang to stay and take minutes for a meeting with Mai Meng and himself. Meanwhile, Yang Jiaqian hurried to the variety show set, where the difficult artist Feng was at an impasse with Ms. Tong, a prominent figure in the industry. Yang Jiaqian’s phone vibrated with a call from her mother, but she pretended not to see it, instead focusing on apologizing to the show’s director on Feng’s behalf.
Her quick thinking helped resolve the immediate crisis. However, Qi, a colleague on the same program, harbored resentment towards Yang Jiaqian. Yang Jiaqian's mother had come to Chongqing to oversee her daughter's postgraduate exam preparations. Convinced that Yang Jiaqian should pursue further studies, she researched several training institutions. However, due to Yang Jiaqian’s demanding work schedule, they hadn't had a proper meal together.
The next day, at a topic selection meeting, Yang Jiaqian presented an impressive proposal, which only intensified Qi's dissatisfaction. To avoid disturbing her school roommates with her late working hours, Yang Jiaqian requested to move into the company dormitory. Her new roommate turned out to be Qi. To assert her dominance, Qi deliberately withheld the door lock combination, leaving Yang Jiaqian stranded downstairs.
While inquiring about postgraduate exam matters, Yang Jiaqian's mother checked her exam admission number only to discover that her daughter had not even taken the exam. Unable to enter the company dorm, Yang Jiaqian returned to her university, only to find her mother waiting outside. Trembling, Yang Jiaqian let her mother in. Upon entering, her mother immediately saw all of Yang Jiaqian's fan merchandise. Enraged, her mother swept all the merchandise to the floor and severely reprimanded Yang Jiaqian.
Despite years of careful nurturing, her daughter was now openly defying her. Her mother sat down, deeply resentful. Yang Jiaqian silently picked up all the fan merchandise and, ignoring her mother’s anger, finally laid all her cards on the table, then walked out, leaving her mother in the dorm. Huangfu and Fan Xiaoyu returned to their dorm and found Yang Jiaqian’s mother sitting there.
Aware of the long-standing tension between mother and daughter, Huangfu, who had tragically lost her own mother, took the initiative to console Yang Jiaqian’s mother. This gentle persuasion gradually softened her mother’s heart, prompting her to go out and search for Yang Jiaqian. While communicating with Yang Jiaqian under the guise of Ms. Dan, Justin sensed her distress. He asked someone to locate Yang Jiaqian’s whereabouts and was on his way to find her when he encountered Yang Jiaqian’s mother.
Justin pointed her in the right direction, then discreetly hid nearby. He felt relieved only after seeing the mother and daughter walk out together. Yang Jiaqian had eventually found Qi downstairs, but Qi was heavily intoxicated and, fueled by her inner bitterness, became physically aggressive towards Yang Jiaqian. Yang Jiaqian’s mother arrived just in time, stopping Qi. Seeing her mother protect her, Yang Jiaqian’s heart softened. Once they found a secluded spot, they finally opened up to each other.
Yang Jiaqian’s mother came to understand her daughter's passion for her work and decided to stop hindering her, choosing instead to offer her support. Yang Jiaqian received a message from Ms. Dan, instructing her to turn on the radio. Without any prior announcement, Justin released a new song titled "Miss Y." Speculation immediately began about whom the song was dedicated to. Yang Jiaqian listened to the song, gazed out the window, and quietly smiled to herself, thinking of changing her fan alias to "Miss Y."
