Yin Chuxia finally met with her mother, confronting her about abandoning her at the age of six. Chuxia tearfully recounted how her father had cut her hair to make her look like a boy, and how she felt like an orphan despite having a father, as he only provided money and no other care. She questioned why her mother hadn't taken her along if she knew how difficult her father was.

Her mother, filled with regret, apologized and explained that she herself didn't know where to go at the time and how she could have cared for Chuxia. She revealed that after leaving, she had started a business and, once stable, tried to return for Chuxia, but her father prevented them from seeing each other. She confessed that she never remarried or had another child, insisting she didn't want one, because she always hoped to make amends to Chuxia.

Chuxia admitted that seeing her mother appear felt like a dream, and she wasn't sure how to face her. Ultimately, Chuxia eased her heart and then revealed the purpose of their meeting: she needed to borrow 80,000 yuan to help a friend. Her mother, initially worried Chuxia might be cheated, still readily agreed to lend her the money, eager for any chance to redeem herself. Having secured the money, Chuxia promptly paid off Zhao Mingyuan's debt.

When Zhao Mingyuan learned what she had done, he was upset and called her to meet, insisting she retrieve the money. Chuxia explained that the car repair shop boss would never return the cash once he had it, and subtly suggested that it was better for him to owe her than to owe the boss, as she wouldn't constantly demand repayment. Zhao Mingyuan reluctantly accepted, asking to write an IOU.

Chuxia, producing a pen and paper she "always carried," agreed but jokingly demanded interest. She then offered to waive the interest if Zhao Mingyuan rejoined the research team and committed to their class arrangements. Recognizing her genuine concern, Zhao Mingyuan agreed, promising to put his full effort into the project. Later, Zhao Mingyuan and his friends discussed the situation, with his friends teasing him about Chuxia's actions being a declaration of affection.

Zhao Mingyuan explained that Chuxia's "interest" was not money, but his commitment to the research team. Relieved of his burden, Zhao Mingyuan actively returned to the research group, apologizing to Su Niannian and the rest of the team for his past pride and for hurting their feelings. He expressed deep gratitude for everyone's support, particularly Mr. Jiang Mu, who had helped him secure a student loan and arranged jobs for his parents.

He acknowledged how much he had matured through the ordeal. Zhao Mingyuan then shared some innovative ideas for expanding the "Wisdom Pouch" project beyond students, suggesting functionalities like fatigue detection and drunk driving alerts for general drivers. Su Niannian was greatly impressed by his vision and asked him to prepare a detailed 5000-word report. Meanwhile, Jiang Mu, known online as "Loner Knight," had been cultivating a sweet online romance with a user named "Little Gold Fish."

They decided to meet in person, agreeing to rendezvous at the bridge near the school, each holding a rose as a sign. Overjoyed, Jiang Mu eagerly prepared for the date. While on campus, he bumped into Dr. Jin, the school's medical officer, and they both noticed each other's unusually smart attire, playfully hinting at a date. Later, at the designated meeting spot, Dr. Jin, rushing to arrive, saw Jiang Mu holding a rose from a distance.

The sight made her suspicious that "Loner Knight" might be Jiang Mu. When he spotted her and greeted her warmly, she quickly hid her own rose and claimed she was meeting a friend. After a brief, awkward exchange, Dr. Jin hurried away, leaving a puzzled Jiang Mu to continue waiting for his "Little Gold Fish." Jiang Mu then sent a text message to "Little Gold Fish" asking if she had arrived.

Dr. Jin received the message, confirming her suspicion that Jiang Mu was "Loner Knight," and felt relieved she hadn't been recognized, narrowly avoiding an embarrassing situation. Zhao Mingyuan visited the car repair shop again and learned that Gu Zichen had secretly paid 20,000 yuan towards his debt by purchasing car wash services.

The boss later revealed to Gu Zichen that since Zhao Mingyuan's friend had paid 80,000 yuan, and with Gu Zichen's 20,000 yuan, the full 100,000 yuan debt was settled. The boss, no longer needing Gu Zichen's services, tried to void their contract. Later, Zhao Mingyuan met Gu Zichen for a drink, expressing profound gratitude for his help. Gu Zichen downplayed his contribution, emphasizing that Chuxia had done more and advised Zhao Mingyuan to cherish her efforts.

Zhao Mingyuan then turned the conversation to Gu Zichen and Su Niannian, making Gu Zichen uncomfortable and leading him to evade the topic by urging more drinks. At home, Gu Zichen's mother, Aunt Mei Lin, hosted He Mei. He Mei complained about Su Niannian relentlessly pursuing Gu Zichen, using the science competition to spend time with him, and being verbally aggressive towards her. She expressed fear that Gu Zichen might waver.

Aunt Mei Lin reassured He Mei, stating definitively that Gu Zichen and Su Niannian could never be together because they were siblings. He Mei was stunned by this revelation. Aunt Mei Lin explained that while she lacked concrete proof, she had told Gu Zichen, who was now seeking answers from his father.

She swore He Mei to secrecy, citing the family's reputation and her desire to prevent Su Niannian from entering the Gu family and claiming a share of their assets. He Mei, however, urged Aunt Mei Lin not to tolerate the situation, emphasizing the financial implications if Su Niannian were to claim half the family fortune. Swayed by He Mei's arguments, Aunt Mei Lin agreed to eliminate Su Niannian as a potential threat.

Consumed by anger, Aunt Mei Lin later confronted Su Niannian at Qun Ying, warning her to give up on Gu Zichen and not follow her mother's destructive path. Su Niannian, confused and defiant, refused to abandon Gu Zichen unless given a clear explanation. Enraged, Aunt Mei Lin blurted out that Gu Zichen was Su Niannian's biological brother before being taken away by another person, leaving Su Niannian in utter shock.

After failing to meet his online girlfriend, Jiang Mu was heartbroken and continued sending messages to "Little Gold Fish," but received no reply. Overwhelmed with sadness, he sought out Dr. Jin, asking for a "sovereign remedy for sadness." He confided in her about his disappointing online date, how he waited for three hours on the bridge, sensing "Little Gold Fish" saw him but didn't come forward.

He lamented that despite his sincere efforts in every relationship, he always ended up hurt, feeling now afraid to love again. Dr. Jin offered comforting words, urging him to be strong and not give up. Determined to uncover the truth, Su Niannian confronted He Mei. He Mei, realizing Su Niannian was aware of something, confirmed that Aunt Mei Lin had shared the family secret with her.

She maliciously elaborated, claiming that Su Niannian's mother and Uncle Gu were a well-known couple in university, but Uncle Gu married Aunt Mei Lin for family reasons. He Mei then accused Su Niannian's mother of continuing to meet Uncle Gu after his marriage, branding her a mistress and claiming that Su Niannian was the product of this affair.

Su Niannian vehemently denied these accusations, arguing that she and Gu Zichen could not be siblings as he is older than her, and accused He Mei of having no right to meddle in her family affairs. He Mei mockingly suggested Su Niannian search her home for evidence. Angered, Su Niannian left, while He Mei savored her apparent triumph. The next day, students noticed Su Niannian's absence from class and cast suspicious glances at He Mei.

Mr. Jiang announced that Su Niannian had taken two days leave, feeling unwell, and urged the students to be well-behaved to lighten the burden on him and their class monitor. Concerned, Gu Zichen called Su Niannian after hearing she was sick. She insisted she was fine, though still feeling unwell, and told him she would handle the school matters. Gu Zichen expressed worry and offered to be there for her if she needed someone to talk to, but Su Niannian maintained her composure and ended the call.
