Over the weekend, a gaming session took an unexpected turn when Yin Chuxia and Zhao Mingyuan had a disagreement. During their playful squabble, Zhao Mingyuan accidentally pushed Yin Chuxia, his hand landing on her chest. The moment was instantly awkward as Zhao Mingyuan stammered, realizing to his astonishment that Yin Chuxia was a girl. His loud exclamation drew the attention of others nearby, who had all assumed Yin Chuxia was a boy.
Zhu Cheng's reaction was particularly exaggerated, as he laughed and repeatedly exclaimed that Yin Chuxia was a woman. Deeply embarrassed and hurt by their reactions, Yin Chuxia fought back tears and ran out. Zhao Mingyuan, feeling terrible, immediately chased after her to apologize but she disappeared too quickly. The Three Remarkable of Qun Ying discussed the recent prank against Su Nian Nian.
Zhao Mingyuan suspected the real culprit was a classmate seeking revenge for a credit deduction and initially wanted to find and "beat him up." However, Chen Yuan convinced him to stop their childish behavior. Later, Zhao Mingyuan was confronted by the arrogant female student who had hired them. He cancelled their deal and forcefully warned her to stay away from Su Nian Nian.
Solidifying his change of heart, Zhao Mingyuan then established a new rule with his friends: from now on, only their group was allowed to bother Su Nian Nian, and they would unite to protect her from any outsiders. Yin Chuxia's boyish appearance stemmed from a childhood trauma. After her parents' divorce, her father, resenting her resemblance to her mother, cut off her long hair and forbade her from wearing girls' clothes, insisting she be raised as a boy.
This experience left her with a sensitive spot for being mistaken as a male, and she privately cried in her dorm. Later, Song Yu Xi excitedly announced her new part-time job at a coffee shop, but Yin Chuxia's subdued reaction led Song Yu Xi to inadvertently comment on Yin Chuxia's lack of "femininity" once more, upsetting her.
Realizing her mistake, Song Yu Xi then recalled that Zhao Mingyuan had chased after Yin Chuxia and asked if he had apologized, which somewhat brightened Yin Chuxia's spirits. Later, Zhao Mingyuan encountered Yin Chuxia and formally apologized for his actions. He admitted to treating her like a man before and being rude but promised to treat her like a girl from then on. When Yin Chuxia asked the difference, Zhao Mingyuan stated simply, "I don't hit girls."
Satisfied, Yin Chuxia accepted his apology. Meanwhile, Su Nian Nian spotted Gu Zi Chen on campus and pursued him, demanding to know why he was skipping class. Gu Zi Chen was preoccupied, still upset that his father had unilaterally disbanded his research study group, and ignored her. Su Nian Nian persisted, following him to the school lake, relentlessly scolding him. Suddenly, she stumbled and fell into the lake, accidentally pulling Gu Zi Chen in with her.
Su Nian Nian couldn't swim and struggled in the water. Though initially annoyed and having already made it to shore, Gu Zi Chen quickly jumped back in to rescue her. Dripping wet and facing each other, Su Nian Nian, feeling a pang of guilt, thanked him. Gu Zi Chen, surprised but pleased, smiled and ruffled her hair, commenting that he never expected to hear words of gratitude from her. Both then hurried back to their respective dorms to change.
During this time, Su Nian Nian's father, Su Dazhi, was diligently operating his taxi service near the school. He recognized Gu Zi Chen about to leave and enthusiastically offered him a ride. Gu Zi Chen discreetly locked his own car and accepted. During the ride, Gu Zi Chen assured Su Dazhi that Su Nian Nian was doing well in class, being both a good student and enthusiastic.
Su Dazhi shared his anxieties about Su Nian Nian, explaining his decision for her to attend Qun Ying was out of concern for her future, and how he wished she would understand his good intentions without the added pressure of knowing the full truth. Gu Zi Chen comforted him, saying Su Nian Nian would eventually understand his efforts.
When Su Dazhi coughed, Gu Zi Chen offered him cold medicine, explaining he always carried it due to his mother's frequent illnesses, which further impressed Su Dazhi with Gu Zi Chen's politeness despite his family's wealth. Gu Zi Chen returned home, but his desire to leave quickly was met by his mother's attempts to persuade him to stay. She mentioned his father missed him, a sentiment Gu Zi Chen dismissed, accusing his father of being overly controlling, stubborn, and irritable.
His father, Gu Weiye, then intervened, offering to allow Gu Zi Chen to resume his project with financial support if he would visit his company next week. Gu Zi Chen gave a silent but affirmative gesture, and Gu Weiye, despite his son's stubbornness, was relieved.
Back at school, Su Nian Nian and Mr. Jiang reintroduced the rigorous English study plan to boost the class's College English Test Band 4 (CET 4) pass rate, which was met with groans from the students, especially The Three Remarkable of Qun Ying. Mr. Jiang firmly stated that the plan was set and would not change, warning that any personal attacks on Su Nian Nian would be considered attacks on him.
Su Nian Nian explained that it was her duty as class monitor to help them improve, reiterating that unexcused absences would result in credit deductions. During morning reading, The Three Remarkable of Qun Ying tried to sleep, claiming they couldn't understand the English material. Zhao Mingyuan challenged Su Nian Nian to demonstrate, and she flawlessly read a complex passage, leaving them speechless and compelled to continue the morning reading.
That evening, discussing their predicament in the dorm, The Three Remarkable of Qun Ying, particularly Zhao Mingyuan, expressed their frustration, lamenting that the study plan was disrupting their work and money-making ventures. Zhao Mingyuan hatched a plan for them to collectively fake a stomach ache the next morning, arguing that since they always ate together, it would be a believable excuse. They then hilariously practiced their "stomach ache" performances, with Zhao Mingyuan coaching them on realistic expressions and body language.
The next morning, during roll call, Su Nian Nian noticed The Three Remarkable of Qun Ying were absent. He Xiao informed her that they were in their dorm, claiming to have food poisoning from the previous day. Yin Chuxia, hearing this, immediately found it suspicious, commenting on the sheer coincidence of all three getting sick together.
