Mi Ka had a persistent high fever. She was actually very afraid of being infected, but in front of her colleagues, she had to pretend to be strong. She picked up her phone again to check and saw that Xing Kelei still hadn’t replied, which made her feel even more anxious. Just as she was quietly crying, Ruan Qingxia called her.
Ruan had only just seen Mi Ka’s message, expressed concern for her, and was a little displeased that Xing Kelei wasn’t around. She said she would visit Mi Ka at the hospital once she finished her tasks. Mi Ka still couldn't reach Xing Kelei and began to worry that this mission might be dangerous. The police lay in ambush, watching Xiang Lulu closely, but Wu Keming never appeared. Everyone had to wait patiently. Captain Xu received a message that Wu Keming’s car was spotted five kilometers from the hospital, but there were no clues inside. Zhuo Wenjing, returning from the hospital, told Xing Kelei that the emergency room had been locked down and asked if Mi Ka was okay.
Just as Xing Kelei was growing worried, he received news that Xiang Lulu had taken her son to the lawn behind the hospital. Without hesitation, he rushed there with his team and kept a close watch. Not long after, a food delivery guy suddenly approached Xiang Lulu. Realizing something was wrong, Xing Kelei quickly surrounded them with his team. Wu Keming, sensing danger, turned and tried to escape, taking a nurse hostage along the way.
Xing Kelei kept persuading him to think about his family and child. Xiang Lulu also looked at Wu Keming with pleading eyes. Wu Keming hesitated for a moment, then lowered his gun and surrendered. Meanwhile, Mi Ka’s fever subsided, and she was released from isolation. Ruan Qingxia came to the hospital to take her home. Mi Ka had just gone to bed when Xing Kelei returned.
Ruan Qingxia, seeing him back, scolded him a bit for not knowing Mi Ka had a fever and was isolated. She then told him to take good care of Mi Ka before leaving. Xing Kelei went upstairs to check on Mi Ka, feeling incredibly guilty. Xing Kelei was tossing and turning in the study when he suddenly heard a noise. He got up and found that Mi Ka had woken up.
He hugged her and apologized, asking if she had been scared during the isolation. Mi Ka admitted she was scared the first day but was more worried later about whether Xing Kelei would get hurt during the mission. Xing Kelei felt even more guilty. Mi Ka had once asked him to show his vulnerable side to her, and now Xing Kelei asked Mi Ka not to pretend to be strong in front of him anymore.
After a night of rest, Mi Ka still went to work at the hospital the next day. Knowing that Mi Ka would have a day off tomorrow, Xing Kelei said the two of them should spend the whole day together. After his time off, Shu Wenbo went to find Ruan Qingxia, and the two of them went to the mountain to enjoy the scenery.
As Ruan leaned on Shu’s shoulder, she suddenly said she wished she could marry him right away. Shu seemed not to hear clearly and asked her to repeat it, but Ruan shook her head. The next day, just as Xing Kelei took Mi Ka to the seaside, Captain Hao suddenly called him for a mission, and Xing Kelei had to turn back. Although Mi Ka understood, she still felt upset.
To comfort her, Ruan Qingxia brought a bunch of things to Mi Ka’s place to make hotpot. Shao Yuhan understood but said this was an important step in her career development and advised her to think carefully and not make a hasty decision. Shu Wenbo planned to propose to Ruan Qingxia and dragged Xing Kelei to a jewelry store to pick a ring.
The two of them didn’t know how to choose, so Shu suggested Xing Kelei send pictures to Mi Ka for her opinion. Mi Ka thought Xing Kelei was going to propose to her and felt a bit disappointed after realizing it was a misunderstanding. Soon after, Shu chose a ring, and Xing Kelei also bought a necklace as a gift for them.
