Shu Wenbo didn’t say a word during dinner, only drank in silence. Li Nian and Luo Ting felt awkward. Since Shu Wenbo wasn’t responding to them, they decided to leave for the movie. Just as they were about to go, Shu Wenbo passed out drunk at the table. The two had no choice but to skip the movie and carry him home.
Lying in bed, Shu Wenbo muttered in his drunken state that he actually liked Ruan Qingxia, but felt they had no future together, so he didn’t dare pursue her. After taking on the seminar task, Shao Yuhan called Xing Keyao and canceled their weekend gathering. Xing Keyao had originally declined the seminar, but upon hearing that Shao Yuhan would attend, she decided to go too. At the seminar, Shao Yuhan saw a client pestering Xing Keyao and helped her out. She thanked him, and the two returned to the hotel.

Mi Ka recommended immediate surgery, but Zhang Yajun insisted on showing the report to Yanshan’s cousin abroad and kept looking down on Yanshan’s skills, refusing to have surgery in China. This angered Yanshan, who walked out. While wandering the hallway, Zhang Yajun noticed Yanshan’s name wasn’t on the duty roster and seized a chance to confront her. The two argued in the hospital room. Zhang Yajun lashed out, calling Yanshan a failure. Yanshan broke down.
Mi Ka saw this and began to understand why Yanshan so desperately needed validation. She told Xing Kelei about it. Xing Kelei wanted to use the opportunity to tell her about his illness but remembered what Lu Feng said about men carrying their burdens alone, so he kept it to himself. After arguing with her mother, Yanshan asked Chen Tao to bring her mother some fruit. While they were talking, an emergency case came in.
Without hesitation, Yanshan rushed to save the patient. Zhang Yajun witnessed her daughter fighting to save a life and was reminded of Yanshan’s father. Her attitude began to change, and she stopped being so harsh. The two reconciled. Zhang Yajun also decided to have her surgery at Renxin Hospital, with Mi Ka participating in the operation.
